*Thousands of years ago*
There was no world to speak of, only chaos existed. Then Four deities arose; Water goddess, Aida; Earth goddess, Xenia; Fire god, Orson; Air god, Arlo. They gave the world form, creating life and with their combined power controlled chaos.
With the world they crafted they each had an empire. Water Empire (Euphrasia) to the East, Fire Empire (Caitriona) to the West, Earth Empire (Devika) to the South and Air Empire (Avalon) to the North.
Not long after, They created individual descendants bestowing on them the ability to cultivate their respective elements. The deities hoped for their descendants to rule over their empires if they ever ascended but soon realised that bestowing on them the cultivation ability was not enough. The descendants also needed training.
This led to the creation of the AXOA Academy. An academy which focuses on the four foundations of all elements, which are the spiritual aspect of Water, the Physical aspect of Fire, the Intelligence aspect of Earth and the Psychological aspect of Air. All these are required for each person to cultivate an element. It was the only way for them to have a strong foundation because they were humans not deities.
Their descendants grew rapidly and they realised that it was time to ascend. Before they left, they made their descendants the rulers of each empire to rule over the common people. The common people were created not to have any elemental ability but the deities still bless them from time to time.
Everyone lived in peace under the rule of the descendants until war broke out. Each empire wanted to control the other. This forced the deities to descend again and create something that they would live to regret and fear…
