Chapter 26 - chapter twenty six : another vision

No one moved for a few seconds

The echo of the footsteps I had felt was still pressing on my head… even though the corridor was completely empty

Riko closed the door slowly, and looked at me with an unusual intensity

He did not speak

And Miuco stayed standing close to the wall, her eyes moving between me and him as if ready to intervene if something exploded

I said in a low voice

"Riko… you didn't answer me Who was here"

He said very slowly, as if choosing his words carefully in a way unlike him

"Ginso… this is not the right time for that question"

I did not like his answer

I did not like his silence

And I did not like the feeling that the room still carried the trace of someone we did not know

I took a step toward him, but Miuco raised her hand quickly

"Stop Both of you are tense and we won't reach anything"

But before I could say another word —

Something happened

A short hit in my head

But it was not like the echo of the past this time

It was more like a window opening forward… a small, distorted window, but clear enough to freeze my heart

I saw

Bright white light

A large room

Metal walls

And four people standing around a circular table

I did not see their faces

Their faces were gray, as if the light hid them

But I heard a voice

A man's voice, clear despite the confusion

"The sample 07 must be prepared before moving to phase three"

Then a woman's voice

"We have located him… but we need to narrow the probabilities further"

Then a single word

Choking the air around me

"Ginso"

The vision disappeared harshly

As if someone had closed a door in front of my face

I returned to the room all at once

Breathing hard

Frozen in place

Miuco said quickly

"Ginso What did you see"

I raised my head to her… then to Riko

I noticed that Riko was staring at me with a strange focus, not fear… but expectation

As if he knew the next vision would be about them… or the organization

I said in a trembling voice

"I saw… a room A lab They were… talking about me"

Miuco exchanged a quick glance with Riko — a look I did not understand

I asked Miuco "About what exactly"

She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to reconstruct the image

"They said… they moved to phase three… and they located… my place"

Miuco actually shivered

As for Riko… he turned his face slightly as if he had received a shock but hid it

I said sharply

"You both know something… and you are not telling me"

Miuco remained silent

Riko stepped one step closer to me and said in a low voice, heavy in a way I had never heard before

"Ginso… if your vision about the future is correct… it means the organization is moving ahead of our expectations"

Before I could ask "Which expectations"

The familiar feeling in my head appeared again — an echo from the past

The remains of someone who was in the room a moment ago

Someone who was not Riko… nor Miuco…

A third person standing near the table holding a phone

I shivered

I said in a hoarse voice

"Riko… we were not alone here The person who was here… was reporting our location to someone"

Only then did Riko's expression change completely

I looked at him for a long moment… and said the sentence that crushed my chest

"Riko… you know who it is right"

He did not answer

But his silence… was an admission in itself

And again I felt that the vision I had seen — that short flash — was not just a warning

It was the beginning of something… much worse than we had known so far
