Chapter 1 - Bull Demon King Descends

Chapter 1.

The Minotaur is a peculiar being.

It is famous for its tendency to steal things from others.

Its ability to forcefully seize, easily conquer, and corrupt others' precious possessions is feared by all.

At the same time, because of the inherent evil in human nature,

It is also secretly envied by countless people.

As the saying goes, robbing one man makes you a thief, robbing many men makes you a demon.

And a king among demons, who commits continuous and rampant crimes, is what is known as the Bull Demon King.

Eugene was once such a Bull Demon King.

A Great Demon King, no less!

How brutal, to enter and exit, killing seven hundred million innocent lives in different 'holes' in a single night!

As the details are too unspeakable, I'll spare everyone the bandwidth and the explicit descriptions.

In short, Eugene's sins were so heavy that even Heaven couldn't tolerate it.

A dump truck (lit. mud-head truck) sent him straight to another world.

This goes to show that the Minotaur will inevitably face a bad end!

...Probably.

In this other world, built upon the massive Secret Realm 'Dungeon,' stands the renowned and prosperous city of Orario.

This is the sacred ground for adventurers from across the continent.

It not only has the largest population and the most flourishing landscape but also the most resident deities.

Yes, Deities.

For a millennium, deities who grew bored with the unchanging God Realm descended to the lower world.

They sealed their divine power, lowered themselves to human status, all for the sake of experiencing the ever-changing, exciting life of mortals.

They grant divine favor to mortals, bestowing upon them the ability to grow beyond their limits.

Using this, they form their own Familia, constantly growing and developing in various ways.

The most pleasing way to entertain the gods is, of course, Dungeon exploration.

In the endless depths of the underground, there are always things that can astound even the gods.

Danger and opportunity, excitement and wealth, power, status, and reputation, thanks to the infinite possibilities brought by the Dungeon, Orario has developed into the continent's foremost grand city.

It is home to hundreds of thousands of people, with various races gathered in one place.

A significant number of these are foreign adventurers.

To ordinary mortals, these adventurers are often lofty, unreachable existences.

Orario, in the most densely built-up Daedalus Street area, at the end of a dark alley.

A blood-soaked young man breathes faintly, his life hanging by a thread.

His chest is caved in, and he doesn't have long to live.

The young man is named Ajin. He was a street hustler who had been around for years.

Because he was clever and had good relations with the neighbors, his small business was quite successful.

But when a person gets too cocky, they tend to get hurt.

To peddle his small wares, Ajin boldly approached adventurers who looked wealthy but were stingy paupers.

During the negotiation, Ajin lost control of his attitude over the unreasonable terms the adventurers demanded.

And that's how he ended up like this.

Even the lowest-level adventurers possess power that can crush ordinary mortals.

In this huge city, the number of people like Ajin, bullied to death by adventurers, is far from small.

Yet, their deaths won't cause the slightest ripple.

Because Orario's prosperity and glory do not belong to mortals.

The only things that command attention are the adventurers and the Dungeon.

Buzz...

"F***, that really hurts!"

The sharp pain in his chest made it hard for Eugene to breathe.

His mind was in chaos, and due to his weakness, his eyes couldn't see clearly.

And the sudden influx of unfamiliar memories felt like his skull was about to split open.

Orario? Labyrinth City? Dungeon? Adventurers?

Isn't this the world of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon!? DanMachi?

After a long time, he managed to catch his breath, and Eugene tried to struggle to his feet.

However, this severely injured body made it difficult even to lift a finger.

[Ding! Detected that the Host is in a dangerous state]

[You need to make a choice quickly]

A system interface suddenly popped up, and a cold female voice rang directly in his mind, causing Eugene's spirits to lift.

Is this the golden finger standard for transmigrators?

"What are my options?"

The intense pain urged him to call out in his mind.

[To ensure a positive transmigration experience]

[This system provides the following options to assist you:]

[1. The Strongest Adventurer: Your path to leveling up will be exceptionally smooth]

[2. Legendary Blacksmith: You will become a highly sought-after blacksmith]

[3. Genius Mage: You will rewrite the history of mages]

[4. Dungeon Monster: You will activate a Monster Avatar. The Avatar's starting level is LV.1 and cannot leave the Dungeon]

At first glance, they all look great, a standard Shin something/ Leon something start.

But why does the fourth option seem so ordinary...

That was Eugene's first impression.

The first three, at least, painted wonderfully appealing pictures. Why is the Dungeon option full of restrictions?

One type, LV.1, cannot leave.

Something is wrong!

Although his head was throbbing and his body felt like it was falling apart, Eugene did not lose his composure.

The four options given by the system should be parallel, and at least the first three paths have great prospects.

Therefore, the Dungeon Avatar option shouldn't be too weak.

The reason for adding so many restrictions at the beginning is probably for balance.

Because it's too strong, it needs to be nerfed!

No summoner build, no high starting stats, and no acting as a mercenary on the surface!

Every restriction is a major nerf, even directly cutting off a possible development path.

But this only solidified the idea in Eugene's mind.

After all, not everyone is like Miyamoto, who can take seventy-plus nerfs and still stand tall!

"I choose the Dungeon Monster Avatar."

[Are you sure?]

"Confirmed!"

Eugene decisively pushed past the system's final dissuasion.

He had always been a stubborn person.

He was also a man of great fortune.

Without it, he could never have achieved what he did in his previous life.

After all, to spend nights with so many beautiful women, you need not just a silver tongue and a strong 'waist', but also cunning and deep pockets.

In his life as a Minotaur, Eugene had narrowly escaped danger many times.

He committed countless 'crimes' and was never caught in flagrante delicto even once.

That was the source of his confidence!

[You have selected Dungeon Monster. Please choose your future avatar]

What else is there to choose?

Eugene grinned.

"I want to choose the Minotaur!!"

In this chaotic, lawless parallel world, to rise to the top:

One must either become a hero who commands thousands of followers.

Or become a Demon King who reigns supreme over the world.

Will he become a naive, sunny youth full of justice and love, like in a Japanese light

novel?

Or will he follow the preferences of certain online readers and become a self-indulgent, egocentric Demon King who throws the world into chaos?

[System is healing your injuries...]

[System is generating your avatar...]

A moment later.

Flash!

A pair of wicked eyes and a pair of bell-like gigantic eyes opened simultaneously in the darkness!

The man on the surface and the monster beneath the ground simultaneously welcomed a new life!

[Name: Eugene]

[Race: Human / Minotaur (Subspecies)]

[Level: LV.1]

[Abilities: Strength I0, Endurance I0, Dexterity I0, Agility I0, Magic I0]

[Magic: Plunder - Completely plunders the defeated target, continuously plunders the suppressed target]

[Skill: Resistance Share - Abnormal statuses you receive can be shared or completely transferred to the avatar]

[Development Ability: Strong Luck I - Reversal of adversity, finding a path out of hopelessness]
