Chapter 7 - 7

The Villa door opened.

The first thing that came into view was a figure in white.

As Luo Mang's gaze moved upward, a gentle and focused face appeared.

Silver-rimmed glasses added a touch of refinement to him.

Seeing Luo Mang look over, Connors turned his body, hiding his missing limb behind him.

This subconscious action directly exposed the thing he cared about most.

"Who are you? I don't remember seeing you."

Connors looked down at Luo Mang, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.

"My name is Luo Mang, Dr. Connors. I've come for the regenerative serum."

Luo Mang spoke directly and to the point, without any concealment.

"That's quite unfortunate. I'm afraid I can't help you.

I've already been fired by Osborn Industries."

Seeing Luo Mang's feet, a look of understanding flashed in Connors' eyes.

But he immediately shook his head, indicating he was powerless.

But perhaps out of the same regret for limb deficiency, Connors, who was about to close the door, paused and looked up at Luo Mang again, saying,

"Although I don't know where you heard about the serum.

But if you need the serum, you can try your luck at Osborn.

After all, they are currently conducting human trials on the regenerative serum."

At this time, Dr. Connors had just lost all hope, not only looking dejected but also constantly emitting the pungent smell of alcohol.

A hint of self-mockery flashed in Connors' eyes. Luo Mang might have ulterior motives, but at this point, he had nothing left to lose.

Just as Connors was about to close the door again, it was stopped by a hand that suddenly reached out.

Pushing the door open, the harmless smile appeared.

"Dr. Connors, I can fund you to complete the remaining regenerative serum research.

The condition is, let me be the first person to be injected with the finished product."

As straightforward as ever, or rather, Luo Mang had no interest in beating around the bush with Connors.

For Luo Mang, wealth was merely a byproduct of acquiring knowledge.

The wealth accumulated over the years, while far from comparable to industrial giants like Tony, was more than enough to support Connors in completing the final refinement of the serum.

Besides, wasn't he here?

The NTZ-48 was successfully researched primarily with Luo Mang as the subject.

Some seemingly unfamiliar fields, Luo Mang could quickly grasp within a week.

He could even research them to a depth that ordinary people would struggle to reach in a lifetime.

What seemed like problems to Connors were not problems in Luo Mang's eyes.

The reason he still needed Connors was simply because Luo Mang didn't want things to become uncontrollable.

What?!

Hearing Luo Mang's words, Connors' pupils constricted. He subconsciously looked at his missing limb, and a struggle flashed in his eyes.

And all of Connors' actions were seen by Luo Mang.

Who has no weakness?

Dead people!

Only dead people have no weakness, and as long as a person is alive, they will definitely have an obsession!

And as long as there is an obsession, it can be exploited!

What seemed very complicated was actually this simple.

Luo Mang could almost see the excitement and temptation welling up in Connors' eyes.

Indeed, the next second Connors looked at Luo Mang and spoke seriously.

"As long as I can complete the regenerative serum, I am willing to do anything!"

Connors had tried to maintain his initial aspirations, but he found that they meant nothing in the face of reality.

Just like Osborn Industries, perhaps in their eyes, he was not even as good as an obedient dog!

A hint of ferocity flashed in Connors' eyes.

And he secretly swore in his heart that if he ever had the chance, he would give Osborn a big gift!

It's impolite not to reciprocate, isn't it?

"I've been waiting for you to say that, Dr. Connors."

Luo Mang clapped his hands, the smile on his face growing wider.

"And you don't have to worry. I'm just like you, someone who simply wants to live well."

Hearing Luo Mang's words, Connors subconsciously glanced at Luo Mang's disabled legs and nodded heavily.

Connors then extended his only intact arm and shook hands with Luo Mang, who was seated in a wheelchair.

At this moment, both of them seemed to see the hope in each other's eyes.

...

Three months flew by in an instant.

In a cold yet extremely clean and tidy basement.

A figure in a white lab coat was pacing back and forth in the laboratory.

Until the container, which seemed to be covered with a layer of white mist, emitted a soft chime.

Connors' eyes instantly fixed on the container.

It happened almost instantly!

The container, which had a white mist-like, frosted texture, suddenly changed.

The hard walls on all four sides became transparent, and the state inside instantly fell into Connors' eyes.

Connors narrowed his eyes, as if confirming something.

When he saw the mouse with its limbs intact inside the container, the excitement and exhilaration in his eyes could barely be contained.

"It's complete, it's finally complete.

Of course, the complete regenerative serum still needs human trials, but according to my calculations, there should be no problem."

I think.....no, no, no, the first person to use it should be Luo, without Luo, I would never have been able to complete the serum."

Connors was like a schizophrenic patient, muttering to himself incessantly.

The conclusion he spoke just a second ago was overturned by himself the next second.

He walked back and forth in the laboratory with small steps, the smile on Connors' lips no longer restrained.

And this expression was the first to appear on Connors' face in these two months.

Excitedly arriving in front of the computer and recording the experimental results with the camera, he completely failed to notice Luo Mang pushing his wheelchair towards him.

"What a good day today? Our Dr. Connors is actually losing his composure?"

The changes of three months were insignificant compared to the past few decades, the smile on Luo Mang's lips remained.

"Luo!"

Connors instantly beamed with joy.

"The regenerative serum is complete!"

Connors quickly came before Luo Mang and pointed at the mouse in the container.

"Next, we just need to find a volunteer..."

"Just inject it into me."

Hearing Luo Mang's words, Connors' voice suddenly stopped.

Interrupted by Luo Mang, Connors didn't feel unhappy. Instead, he slightly furrowed his brow and looked at Luo Mang with concern.

"Luo, I know you're not feeling well, but the final experiment is very important!"

Perhaps because they shared a similar plight, Connors could deeply understand Luo Mang.

But adhering to the rigorous attitude of a researcher, Connors was unwilling to let Luo Mang take the risk.

"You promised me, didn't you?

When the regenerative serum is confirmed to be effective, I will be the first person to be injected with it.

Come on, Connors, I am the first test subject!"

A rare look of madness appeared in Luo Mang's eyes, his words like the temptation of a demon.

Seeing Connors' silence, Luo Mang forcefully propped himself up on the wheelchair, leaned forward, and met Connors' gaze.

"Let me clear the last obstacle for your new life!"
