Chapter 7 - The Magic Of You

He stands tall, as if the stars

Wove him with their own sorcery.

Tall as a cathedral, steeped

With silent reverence; tall as if he bore

The weight of whispered legends,

And all my dreams could rest assuredly

On his big, broad shoulders and arms

Laced with effortless ease, like a favorite book

Where the words stay tattooed in your brain.

He looks like sunlight spilling.

As if he stole the glow from tomorrow's brightness,

How do I tell them he walks in majesty ,

Like a white sheet bathed by the afternoon light.

My mother says the sea is full of fish.

I shake hands with them, walk away

But my page stay dry, a stranded shore.

His eyes find me, just once and I go home

To write the ocean.
