Scene: Honnouji Academy - Classroom
(The next day. Aikuro Mikisugi is droning on with a lecture. Ryuko is staring daggers at him. Mako is asleep, drooling slightly. Y/N sits there, spinning a pen, looking bored.)
Y/N: (Internal) Another day of peace. Another day of... intense staring?
(Y/N notices Ryuko's death glare directed at the teacher.)
Y/N: (Whispering) "What's with the face? Did he give you a bad grade or something?"
(The bell rings. Mikisugi immediately bolts out the door before the students can even move.)
Ryuko: "Get back here!"
(Ryuko chases after him. Y/N sighs, grabs his bag, and follows at a walking pace.)
Scene: Hallway
(Y/N catches up to Ryuko in the hall. She is fuming.)
Ryuko: "Where did that bastard disappear to?"
Y/N: "Is everything okay? You look like you want to murder the faculty."
Ryuko: "Yeah, yeah. I'm just looking for our 'good teacher'."
Y/N: "Why?"
Ryuko: (Clenches fist) "I just want to talk to him."
Mako: "GUUUUUUYS!!!"
(Mako launches herself down the hallway like a human missile. Y/N casually slides to the left. Ryuko catches her, skidding back but keeping Mako upright.)
Y/N: "Nice catch."
(They notice a piece of paper stuck to Mako's back.)
Y/N: (Reading) "'See me after school where we met before. - Aikuro Mikisugi'. Huh."
Ryuko: "That bastard!"
Y/N: (Smirking) "Meet you where you met before? Wait... were you flirting with the teacher while Mako and I were being used as target practice by the Tennis Club?"
Ryuko: (Blushing furiously) "What!? Hell no!"
Y/N: "This letter seems rather suspicious."
Mako: "Yeah! Suspicious!"
(Y/N and Mako lean in close to Ryuko's face, grinning teasingly.)
Y/N: "Oh? So you are pursuing a relationship with our teacher. Didn't take you for a girl into older men. Scandalous."
Mako: "Don't worry Ryuko! I'll help you gain his heart!"
Ryuko: "THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED!!!! ARRRRGH!!!!!"
(Ryuko snaps and starts swinging at them. Y/N and Mako sprint down the hall, laughing while dodging Ryuko's attacks.)
Scene: Y/N's Apartment - Night
(Y/N sits on his bed in his run-down No-Star apartment. He closes a notebook.)
Y/N: "I can't believe I actually look forward to homework. It's the only normal thing about this insane asylum of a city."
(He stretches and sighs.)
Y/N: "Time for bed."
(Cut to: Bathroom. Y/N steps out of the shower and wipes the steam off the mirror. He looks at his reflection. His expression hardens.)
(His torso is covered in scars. Burn marks, jagged lacerations, and signs of massive blunt force trauma. He traces a particularly nasty scar on his chest.)
Y/N: "-_-"
(He opens the medicine cabinet and grabs a container of scar cream. He starts applying it, though he knows it's useless.)
Y/N: "I don't even think this is working anymore... Sigh."
(He puts on pajamas and flops onto his bed. He reaches underneath and pulls out a silver case. Inside is a scrapbook. He flips through it.)
Y/N: "Memories. The hero training, the sports festivals, the licenses... and the pain."
(He stops at a specific photo. It's not a happy memory. It's a blurry image of a destroyed city block, rubble everywhere. And standing in the smoke, a man in a suit with no face. All For One.)
Y/N: (Voice drops, serious) "I wish I handled that differently. I was cocky. I thought I could take him."
(Flashback: A brief flicker of memory. The smell of ozone. The sound of air cannons firing. Y/N lying in rubble, bleeding out, unable to move his arms. The Faceless Man laughing. Y/N barely escaping with his life through a warp gate.)
Y/N: "He nearly killed me. I survived, but... I ran. And now I'm here, hiding in a school where people fight with clothes."
(He shakes his head, pushing the memory of All For One away. He knows the Symbol of Evil is still out there, somewhere. Maybe even connected to this world's problems. But for now, Y/N is retired.)
Y/N: "Just a normal student. No more hero work."
(He notices a blue light shining through his window.)
Y/N: "What the?"
(He looks out. A massive pillar of blue light is shooting up from the Academy into the sky.)
Y/N: "That isn't ominous or anything... Nope. Not my problem."
(Y/N closes the blinds and goes to sleep.)
Scene: The Next Day - Tram
(Y/N, Ryuko, and Mako are heading to school. Ryuko looks exhausted.)
Ryuko: (Yawns)
Mako: "What's wrong Ryuko? Didn't get much sleep?"
Ryuko: "I couldn't sleep because it felt like something bad was going to happen."
Y/N: "Oh boy. If you think something bad is going to happen, then we're looking at an apocalypse. I just hope I don't get kidnapped again. That got old fast."
Ryuko: "Heh. Don't worry about it. If you do, I'll just save you again."
Y/N: "That doesn't make me feel any better..."
Scene: School Courtyard
(They arrive. The courtyard is transformed. Huge flags line a path to a central arena. A spotlight shines down from the tower. Satsuki Kiryuin stands at the top, staring down.)
Ryuko: "Satsuki Kiryuin."
Satsuki: "You've come, Ryuko Matoi."
Ryuko: "To what do I owe the honor of this grand welcome?"
(Satsuki walks down the long stairs. Her presence is suffocating.)
Satsuki: "It was you who said that when we next met, you would settle matters once and for all, remember?"
Ryuko: "How very conscientious of you."
Y/N: (Whispering to Mako) "Well, she did challenge the dictator of the school to a fistfight. I guess today is the day."
Mako: "Yeah! You were all like: 'Mark my words! Next time I'll finish this once and for all!'"
Y/N: "In hindsight, I'm surprised you didn't expect her to actually challenge you."
Ryuko: "Shut up and get back!"
(Y/N grabs Mako and they run to the sidelines. Satsuki glances briefly at Y/N before focusing on Ryuko.)
Satsuki: "Rejoice, Ryuko Matoi. You will be the first offering to my Junketsu."
Ryuko: "'Purity'? Is there anything about you that's pure?"
Satsuki: "Watch then."
(Satsuki flicks a switch on her shoulder. Her uniform transforms. It is Kamui Junketsu. It is... very revealing.)
Ryuko: "What the hell!?"
Satsuki: "That's right, this is my Junketsu. You aren't the only one in possession of a Kamui."
Y/N: (Deadpan) "Or no sense of shame. -_-"
(Satsuki snaps her head toward Y/N, glaring as if she heard him.)
Y/N: (Sweats) "Sorry."
Ryuko: "Let's do it, Senketsu!"
(Ryuko transforms. The two clash in the center of the arena.)
BOOM.
(The impact creates a massive shockwave. The audience is blown away like ragdolls. However, Y/N stands perfectly still, his feet planted firmly. He grabs Mako by the collar, anchoring her so she doesn't fly away.)
Y/N: (Internal) Strong. But nothing compared to One For All... or All For One.
(Ryuko is overpowered. She is sent flying into a concrete building. Satsuki lands gracefully next to her, picking Ryuko up by her hair.)
Satsuki: "How pathetic. The Kamui saved you from blood loss. But in a dormant Kamui, you may as well be naked."
Ryuko: "I'm not sure how I feel about being laughed at by you in that exhibitionist getup..."
Satsuki: "Exhibitionist? Nonsense! If it means achieving my goals, I, Satsuki Kiryuin, will show neither shame nor hesitation! My actions are utterly pure!"
Y/N: "HALLELUJAH."
(Y/N blinks. He swears he heard music.)
Y/N: "What the hell!?"
Mako: "Get naked Ryuko! I can say beyond a doubt you are not inferior to Lady Satsuki!"
(Suddenly, Mako is standing between Satsuki and Ryuko. Y/N is standing next to her, looking confused.)
Y/N: "How did I get here? I was ten feet away a second ago."
Mako: "Your boobs are bigger than hers!"
(Mako starts using Y/N as a mannequin to demonstrate boob sizes, gesturing wildly at his chest.)
Y/N: (Dying inside) "-_-"
Mako: "My whole family was talking about them! So don't be embarrassed! Just rip it off and get naked!"
Y/N: "...Mako, please don't use me as a visual aid for boobs ever again."
Satsuki: "What nonsense is this!? Your immaturity causes people to spout garbage! You have disappointed me utterly, Matoi!"
(Satsuki swings her sword down to finish it. CLANG. Ryuko blocks it and gets to her feet.)
Ryuko: "It ain't nonsense! It ain't nonsense at all!"
(Ryuko fully synchronizes with Senketsu. The transformation completes properly this time.)
Y/N: "I guess that looks better than your other outfit... slightly."
(Ryuko rockets toward Satsuki. The real fight begins. Explosions rock the courtyard. Mako holds onto Y/N's leg like a flag in a hurricane. Y/N watches the battle, his eyes tracking the high-speed movements easily.)
Y/N: (Internal) Her speed increased. Satsuki is skilled, but Ryuko is adapting.
(Final clash. Massive dust cloud. When it clears, both are standing, exhausted.)
Ryuko: "I'm gonna crush them."
Satsuki: "What?"
Ryuko: "I don't know what you're thinking, but I'm gonna take all that lofty crap you spout about ambition, and crush every last one of 'em. That oughta loosen your lips a little."
Satsuki: "Heh... How amusing."
(Satsuki turns and walks up the stairs.)
Satsuki: "You're gonna crush my ambitions? Honnouji Academy is my kingdom! If you say you will topple it all by yourself, then I accept your challenge!"
Ryuko: "I'm not alone! I have Senketsu and my friends!"
Mako: "Yeah!!!!"
Y/N: "What?"
Satsuki: "So be it! Beginning tomorrow, all clubs will be after your heads! Do you still think you can win?"
Y/N: "No. Q_Q"
Ryuko: "You bet your ass I do!"
Satsuki: "Then defeat each and every student who comes after you! If you do, then Junketsu and I will face you again."
Ryuko: "And if I win, you're gonna tell me everything."
Satsuki: "We're agreed, then."
Ryuko: "You're on."
Y/N: "Come on! Don't I get a say in this?"
Ryuko and Mako: "NO!"
