Scene: Y/N's No-Star Apartment - 4:30 AM
(Y/N is sleeping peacefully. He is wearing pajamas covered in bright yellow rubber ducks.)
Y/N: (Dreaming) "Mmmm... peace... quiet... no screaming..."
CRASH!
(The door bursts open. Mako rushes in like a hurricane.)
Mako: "Y/N!!!!!! WAKE UP!"
Y/N: (Jolting awake) "GAH! VILLAIN ATTACK?!"
Mako: "WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!!!!! LET'S GO!!!!!"
(Mako grabs Y/N by the collar of his duck pajamas and drags him out of the apartment before he can even process what is happening. He screams in fear as he is hauled away.)
Scene: The Slums - Streets
(Y/N, still in his pajamas, is being dragged alongside Ryuko, who is also in her pajamas. A mass migration of panicked students is running through the streets.)
Ryuko: (Giggling) "Rubber ducks? Really?"
Y/N: (Deadpan) "Rubber ducks are the peak of bedtime fashion. You don't have room to talk, Miss 'Bunny-Rabbit'."
Ryuko: (Blushing) "These were the only pajamas Mako had!"
Y/N: "Ducks are superior. They float. Bunnies drown. Logic."
Ryuko: "You're an idiot. So, what's with this mass migration?"
Mako: "It's No-Late Day! Once a semester, we have to run through an obstacle course to get to school by 8:30 AM! If we're late, we're expelled!"
Y/N: "'No-Late Day'? That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen."
(Suddenly, a massive armored vehicle bursts through a wall. Ira Gamagori stands on top of it, laughing maniacally.)
Gamagori: "I can see that you are confused, transfer students!"
Ryuko: "You're that jerk—"
Gamagori: "Ira Gamagori! Disciplinary Committee Chair! Allow me to explain! No-Late Day is designed to whip slacker No-Stars into shape! Evade the traps and reach class, or face expulsion!"
(Gamagori looks down at them and frowns.)
Gamagori: "WHAT THE HELL!? What manner of slacker outfits are those!?"
Y/N: "I was sleeping five minutes ago. I was having a great dream about silence. You ruined it."
Ryuko: "My Kamui is in the laundry! It'll be dropped off soon!"
Gamagori: "Excuses! Leaving for school in slovenly outfits is an insult to Lady Satsuki!"
Mako: (Suddenly appearing next to Gamagori) "Is it though? People sleep in pajamas! Unless... do you sleep in the nude?"
Gamagori: "No, I sleep in the nude."
Y/N: "TMI, big guy. TMI."
Mako: "You'll catch a cold! Please wear pajamas!"
Gamagori: "What is your name?"
Mako: "Mako Mankanshoku!"
Gamagori: "I'll remember that. Matoi! L/N! Do you think you can reach school without your uniforms?"
(Gamagori presses a button. The ground shakes. A massive, insane obstacle course rises from the earth, filled with spikes, fire, and death traps.)
Gamagori: "Behold! Honnouji Academy's Great Barrier!"
Mako: "Wow! It's like an amusement park!"
Y/N: "...I hate this place. I hate it so much."
Mako: "We only have three hours!"
Ryuko: "I'm gonna bust through all the traps you bozos made, easy!"
Gamagori: "FORWARD MARCH!"
(The students charge. Halfway up the stairs, the steps flatten into a slide, sending everyone tumbling back to the start—except Y/N, Ryuko, and Mako.)
Scene: Obstacle Course
(They are running through the traps. Ryuko bumps into a girl who falls over dramatically.)
Girl: "Ow, that hurts so much!"
Mako: "You're our classmate, Maiko Ogure!"
MAIKO OGURE
Y/N: "Another introduced character? That's either really good or really bad."
Ryuko: "Are you okay? Your arm is hurt!"
Maiko: "It's you guys! Yes, I hurt my arm in that trap just now."
Ryuko: "Don't overdo it!"
Mako: "Let's take her with us!"
Maiko: "I'd only slow you down! Leave me!"
Y/N: (Sighs) "Quit whining. Come on."
(Y/N picks Maiko up piggyback style. He grimaces slightly, checking his pulse reflexively, but hides it.)
Y/N: "Hold on tight. I'm not dropping you."
Maiko: "My hero~"
Y/N: "-_-"
(They navigate the traps. Maiko suspiciously manages to trigger every single trap they pass, forcing Y/N and Ryuko to dodge frantically.)
Y/N: "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"
Maiko: "I'm sorry! You should just leave me!"
Y/N: "...Really? Because at this point, you're heavier than you look."
Ryuko: "No way! We're all gonna make it! ALL OF US!"
Y/N: "I was joking! Kind of..."
Scene: The Cable Car
(The group hijacks a One-Star cable car bus to speed things up. Maiko drives. Ryuko climbs onto the roof to cut the cable and launch them toward the school.)
Ryuko: "We couldn't have made it without you, Maiko!"
Y/N: "Yeah, I guess it worked out."
Maiko: "Nonsense, you guys did the hard work!"
Mako: "Yay! We're all friends now!"
(Ryuko slashes the cable. The car launches into the air, flying toward the school windows.)
(However, the sudden jolt shakes the car violently. The door flies open.)
Y/N: "Whoa—!"
(Y/N loses his grip and tumbles out of the open door.)
Ryuko: "Y/N!!!!"
Mako: "Y/N!!! OH NO!!!!"
(Y/N falls toward the city and the jagged rocks far below.)
Scene: Mid-Air
(Y/N is plummeting. The wind rushes past his ears. He closes his eyes for a second.)
Y/N: "Whelp. I tried. Oh well~ I'll never get to class on time. I'll get expelled. And I won't have to deal with the craziness of this place anymore~"
(A smile creeps onto his face. Blissful expulsion.)
Inner Y/N: Y/N... Y/N...
Y/N: "Huh? Who's there?"
Inner Y/N: It's me, your inner self. If we get expelled... doesn't that go on our permanent record?
Y/N: "...Wut."
Inner Y/N: And since we're in a foreign dimension with no ID, no money, and no home other than the school dorms... if we get kicked out, we're homeless.
Y/N: "..."
Inner Y/N: Also, Satsuki keeps staring at us. If we leave now, she wins.
Y/N: (Eyes snap open, glowing with orange intensity) "FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!"
(Y/N twists his body in mid-air. He faces the cliffside of the school foundation. He pulls his hands out of his pockets. Sweat glistens on his palms.)
Y/N: "Fine! I'll go to school! I'll be the best student ever!"
(Sparks crackle along his palms. FLASH. BOOM!)
(A massive explosion erupts from his hands, propelling him upward with incredible speed. He rockets up the side of the cliff, using rapid-fire blasts to scale the vertical wall like a missile, hidden from view by the smoke of the cable car crash.)
Scene: Classroom 2-K
Aikuro: "Let's see, next up is... Matoi. Ryuko Matoi."
(CRASH! The cable car smashes through the window. Ryuko and Mako roll out and land perfectly in their seats.)
Aikuro: "Ryuko Matoi?"
Ryuko: "Present."
Aikuro: "Um... Y/N L/N?"
(Ryuko looks down in shame. She thinks Y/N fell to his death or expulsion.)
Ryuko: "I'm sorry... grits teeth He fell..."
Y/N: "Here."
Ryuko and Mako: "EH!?!?!?"
(Y/N is sitting at his desk. He is wearing his uniform. He is leaning back, looking bored, though his hair is slightly windblown.)
Ryuko: "Y/N!?!?! How did you—"
Y/N: "I ran."
Ryuko: "But, how did—"
Y/N: "I ran REALLY, REALLY fast. >:P"
(Mako hugs him, crying tears of joy.)
Scene: Student Council Room
(Inumuta is reviewing the data on his screens. Satsuki sips her tea.)
Inumuta: "Impossible!"
Sanageyama: "What is it?"
Inumuta: "Y/N L/N fell out of the cable car. By all calculations, he should have hit the ground."
Nonon: "So what, four eyes!?"
Inumuta: "Look at the thermal reading."
(On the screen, a blur of heat travels vertically up the side of the school foundation at explosive speeds, reaching the window in seconds.)
Inumuta: "He didn't just climb. He launched himself up the cliff face and changed into his uniform in under 25 seconds."
Satsuki: (Narrowing her eyes) "That speed... that propulsive force... That shouldn't be possible for a No-Star."
Satsuki: "Who or what are you, Y/N?"
Scene: School Courtyard (Later)
(Ryuko, Mako, and Y/N are watching Guts the dog run toward them with Senketsu.)
Mako: "Look! Guts brought your uniform!"
(Suddenly, Maiko Ogure trips Ryuko and kicks the dog away. She grabs Senketsu.)
Maiko: "You let your guard down, Ryuko! This injured act was a lie! I am Maiko Ogure, Head of Trap Development!"
Y/N: "Oh. It was a bad thing then. I carried you for nothing."
Maiko: "I've grown tired of developing traps! I will steal the Kamui and overthrow Lady Satsuki!"
Ryuko: "You played us!"
Maiko: (Putting on Senketsu) "Now, witness my power!"
(Maiko transforms. It looks... terrible. She bloats up and freezes, unable to move.)
Y/N: "Wow. That looks terrible. Fashion disaster."
Ryuko: "How can she do this, Senketsu!?"
Senketsu: "Forgive me. This woman has no shame. She is overpowering me with pure greed."
Maiko: "Why... can't I... move!?"
Ryuko: "Because you don't understand what it means to wear him!"
(Ryuko proceeds to beat the living daylights out of Maiko, knocking her out of the clothes.)
Senketsu: "Barf Making me drink that grimy blood! I'm sorry, Ryuko!"
Ryuko: "I forgive you."
Y/N: "...Are... are you talking to your clothes?"
Mako: "Yeah! Ryuko named him Senketsu!"
Y/N: "I didn't think you were THAT lonely. Talking to clothes is the first step to madness."
Ryuko: "Shut up! Only I can hear him!"
Y/N: "Lonely AND crazy. Wow."
Scene: Y/N's Apartment - Night
(Y/N finishes his homework. He sighs, rubbing his chest.)
Y/N: "I can't believe homework is the most normal part of my day."
(He walks to the bathroom. He takes off his shirt. The mirror reveals his torso is covered in horrific, jagged scars—evidence of a battle that nearly tore him apart.)
Y/N: "..."
(He opens the medicine cabinet. He bypasses the scar cream and reaches for a small, unlabeled orange pill bottle. He shakes one pill out and swallows it dry.)
(He places two fingers on his neck, checking his pulse. Thump... thump... thump. It steadies.)
Y/N: "Pump rate is stable. The meds are holding."
(He stares at the scars. His mind flashes back to a broken city in another universe. Smoldering rubble. The feeling of his ribs shattering. A man in a dark suit floating above him, face blank and terrifying.)
All For One: "Is that all you have, little hero?"
(Y/N grips the sink, his knuckles turning white. He shakes the memory off.)
Y/N: "I'm not that person anymore. I'm just a student. Just Y/N."
(He walks back to his bed and pulls out a silver case from underneath. He opens it. Inside isn't a monster scrapbook, but a collection of items from his old life: a burnt piece of a hero costume, a provisional license from U.A. High, and a photo of his old class, Class 1-A.)
Y/N: "Memories. The training, the Licensing Exam... and the failure."
(He flips to the last photo. It's a blurry shot of the crater where he fought All For One. The day he nearly died. The day he ran away to this dimension to survive.)
Y/N: "I wish I handled that differently. I survived, but I left everything behind. And now I'm here, hiding in a school where people fight with clothes while the Symbol of Evil is still out there... somewhere."
(He sighs, closing the box and shoving it back under the bed.)
Y/N: "Just a normal student. No more hero work. No more All For One."
(He lays down. Outside his window, a massive pillar of blue light shoots up from the Academy.)
Y/N: "What the?"
(He looks at the ominous blue light.)
Y/N: "That isn't ominous or anything... Nope. Not my problem. I'm going to sleep."
(He rolls over, pulling the covers up, trying to ignore the call to adventure.)
