Chapter 35 - CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE: ADVANTAGE

~MELISSA'S POV~

"Well, well, well… Tessa," I murmured, my voice low as my gaze locked onto the woman staring back at me.

The mirror reflected a face too familiar, too perfect, soft eyes, delicate mouth, that infuriating innocence etched into every line.

An idea suddenly stuck my mind and my lips widened in a smile."It seems looking alike finally works in my favor."

The reflection did not argue. It never did, it couldn't as it only spoke the truth. Beautiful in that effortless way that had always made my stomach twist with irritation. Because no matter how hard I tried, no matter how much silk or power I wrapped myself in, the world still looked at this face and thought of her. Even the very one I am married. It was always her— the one doors opened for without her even asking.

I tilted my head, studying the resemblance I had learned to weaponize. How many times had people paused, confused? How many times had her name been whispered in places that should have echoed with mine?
