~TESSA'S POV~
The music thumped softly in my ears, drowning out everything I didn't want to think about. I lay back against the pillows, eyes closed, letting the rhythm carry me somewhere quieter. Somewhere where Olivia didn't exist. I already got tired of her nagging and troubles. And of course Robert's cold voice was always in her favour. wasn't replaying itself in my head. And also letting the music carry me somewhere where anonymous messages and unanswered questions couldn't reach me.
For a moment, it worked.
But suddenly, the door flew open.
The sudden rush of air startled me, and before I could even sit up, a sharp sting exploded across my cheek.
My headset flew off my ears.
"What the—!"
Another force hit my chest—not a slap this time, but something hard. A phone bounced off me and landed on the bed.
"You disgusting slut!"
I froze.
Olivia stood there, chest heaving, eyes blazing like she had been waiting for this moment her entire life.
