Chapter 3 - The reveal and the beginning of a new friendship

The shining star continued being red as the fallen god revealed his new form. His form was much different from his previous one as he was much taller, a little more masculine, he had two dark horns on his head, his body was covered by a dark cape made from his own energy, his canines grew longer as if they were fangs, he had dark wings that looked like ones of a bat and finally his whole body was covered in a crimson aura.

The woman was clearly impressed by the new transformation but what peeked her interest was the small crimson orb that was on his chest, "Wow! I like the new look and not just that, your power has really sky rocketed, I'm truly impressed," she said.

He looked at her and smirked, "I think you should be more worried than being impressed." She waved the words away and said, "But I'm sincerely impressed by the new look."

"Okay then if you say so, but the breaks over," and he quickly dashed towards her. "Quick on the action I see? okay then, lets see your new power then!" then she also charged towards him causing them to both clash again with their fists, but this time the woman was pushed backwards and was forced to counter attack by using the force pushing her to kick him in the neck but was stopped by him when he grabbed her leg kicked her upwards and then followed her upwards and kicked her downwards leading her to crush on the ground.

He then quickly dived towards her and kicked her with a diving kick using both his legs which she tried blocking but only to both her arms being broken. Before she could heal them the fallen god grabbed her by the arms and threw her towards the mountains where she crushed through all of them and crush landing to where they originally met.

She tried getting up but her injuries were too great from the broken ribs, arms, twisted leg and broken neck, but she still stood up an reassembled her bones. She tried to catch her breath but her every breath coughed blood as she tried healing her internal injuries.

The fallen god reached where she crushed and walked slowly towards her. She was slowly losing her balance and panting heavily. The fallen god gave smirk as he stood right in front of her, "I warned you about this in the start and you could have just given me the the orb, but now look at you, tired and injured because of your dumb complaints."

"Who's, (panting), comp, (panting), laining?" but before she could finish her sentence, she puked a lot of blood that almost brought her to her knees, "If you want the orb, you can just kill me-" then the fallen god grabbed her by her hair, lifting her off the the ground with one hand and flew her upwards, "Then lets make this quick," he then reaped the woman's top clothes revealing her breasts and then engulfed his left hand with energy and punched her at her chest, penetrating her skin. He was looking for something inside her but then removed it with disappointment, "Tsk, I didn't expect you to hide the orb outside your body." Giving him a smile, "Too bad, (panting), that means you have no choice but to kill me if you want to accomplish your goal that bad-"

He then cut her off, "Much obliged." Then he threw her upwards and touched the orb on his chest and manifested a sheathed sword. The sheath of the sword was black which was molded with the bodies of multiple bats. The tip of the pommel contained the crimson orb and the cross guard was pentagonal in shape. He then unsheathed the sword and the swords blade was dark red in color with a tint of silver lining.

When the woman regained her balance she healed her wounds and quickly fired a barrage of energy blasts towards him that were only deflected by him using his sword. He then lifted the sword on top of his using both of his hands and channeled all his energy to the sword which was engulfed with a large flow of crimson aura and then aimed at her, "Dark void: Hell Slash."

The attack was so huge that it split the dark skies and destroyed everything in its path including the three moons in the sky and disintegrating the woman. There was a large gap in the landscape due to the huge attack, dust was everywhere and everything was silent. He then sheathed his sword back and slowly walked away as the blue orb appeared in front of him, "It didn't have to end like this, you could have just given me the orb and minded your own business, but no, look what you made me do."

The tension in the air calmed down as the fallen god slowly transformed back to his normal state as he reached where the orb was. "Turning your back already?" the fallen god was surprised the words he heard as he tried finding who said them.

"You really are full of surprises, this was one of the biggest surprises yet, bravo!" when the dust clouds cleared on the sky, it revealed the once injured woman who was now covered in a navy blue aura. Her clothes glowed brightly, with a white cape which was similar to that of the fallen god. She had white crown that floated on top of her head that also glowed brightly. The dark skies slowly turned to their original color but the star glowed light blue instead.

"Much expected from you, manifestation of evil, but sadly I have to finish this quick, I've already done my findings and also its actually getting pretty late," then she unsheathed her sword, its blade was pure white and the tip of the pommel had a blue ruby and the cross guard was shaped just like a small sparrow. She then took a big breath and focused all the surrounding elemental energy into her sword, but the fallen god also tried unsheathing his sword again.

"Its futile," the woman had already appeared right in front of him, "Azure: HeavenPiercer," as she slashed him clean through his chest. The slash was so powerful that it slashed everything in its path including the mountains that were slashed half. The fallen god then collapsed to the ground as he completely shifted back to his normal state.

There was silence as the woman sheathed back her sword and detransforming back to her base form while she flew towards him, "See, its over." The fallen god remained silent as he tried healing his wounds and covering them but it completely failed to heal forcing him to give up, "Fine, you win, I give up."

The woman was taken by surprise by this and asked him why he gave up so easily, which he answered by saying, "Can't you see that I can't move a single muscle, I'm usually determined, but not always determined on something impossible, so I'm just gonna give up."

In annoyance the woman replied that, "Well that's not very manly of you isn't?, here I thought you were the type who can take his own life to accomplish something, what a waste." "Say all you want woman, but some people just accept reality and get over with it," he answered.

Standing right next to him, "Hmm, is that so? but why are you still lying to me if I may ask you myself?, weren't you going to give a long speech so that you could convince me help you, am I right?".

The fallen god was silent for a moment and then gave out a loud laugh, "I see your mind reading is quiet unavoidable, lying can't really work on you I see?". She scoffed and said, "Why are you still struggling? just give up already and leave that realm to be itself, its not worth your life, trust me."

In a low tone he answered, "Its that easy to you huh? you are literally the one in charge of ruling that realm, I think you perfectly know what I mean, I have to fulfil my goal no matter what." She sat beside him and said, "No matter what huh? then you should have stopped lying to me from the start."

The fallen god let out a quiet breath and closed his eyes, "Okay... I'm sorry about lying to you, but I was sincerely telling the truth about changing the living realm. The only difference was the way I was going to do it."

"Yeah, I know it was false," she replied. He nodded, "Yes, it was false. I never actually planned ruling the living realm, but I only intended on destroying the corrupt principles there and build a fair system where everyone was able to stand for himself."

The woman gave a soft chuckle, "Not bad, telling the truth I mean, it's not like someone actually dies when being honest and that was your little reason that caused you to fight like a mad man? what can I say, great men usually hold up small secrets."

Silence fell for a moment as dust drifted in the air between them. Then she slowly leaned towards him and placed her right hand on his chest where the wound was and a faint glow pulsed from her hand and within moments his wounds completely vanished.

She withdrew her hand and told him, "Okay the, I've decided to help you... alright?" The fallen god slowly rose back to his feet, brushing dust from his cloak and looked at her, "Thanks... I guess."

"You could at least pretended to sound relieved," she muttered. "But I'm truly grateful," he insisted, "About the new ally I've gained." "Just an ally, huh?" she asked in disappointment, "Then how about we make a truce at least that much."

"A truce?" he asked, "How?". "Bring out your sword and do what I'm doing, okay?". Both of them drew their swords, steel whispered as the blades left their scabbards and for a moment they only looked at each other.

"We can plunge them here together," she said as she lowered her sword to the ground, "To mark the beginning of our new friendship."

"Alright then... "The fallen god paused, "But wait, before we do this, I actually never got your name from the start." She blinked and stayed silent for a second, "Name? oh-right, I actually forgot that beings from the living realm gave themselves titles, but... I'm sorry, I don't think I currently have a name at the moment, how about you?"

The fallen god shrugged lightly lightly, "I don't think I have one either."

"Then why don't we give each other names then?" she suggested with a playful glimmer on her eyes. "It'll make this truce, you know, feel more official."

"Alright," he said, "How about I start?". "Fine if you want to," she answered him. He tapped his chin, "Hmm... what do you think the beings in the living realm would've called you?"

"Hmmm... I guess 'Monarch'?" she answered. "Monarch... Monarch..." He rolled the name around his tongue, "How about... Mona?"

"Mona?" she blinked and then smiled, "Mona... Mona... Megami Mona, that's a splendid name!". The fallen god stared at her, "You already gave yourself a full name already? but also giving yourself the name goddess seems a little over the top?"

"But it sounds cool!" she insisted, "Now what about you? got any leads on how your name should be?". "Anything is fine," he answered.

She stared at him with disappointment, "Not much of a picky person, huh?...Then how about... Nelluvain, yes Loid Nelluvain."

"Nelluvain?" he repeated it slowly, "Loid Nelluvain... Not bad at all, I accept it." "Good, then we can finally finish the truce and create our brand new alliance," Mona extended her hand, "Nice working with you, Loid."

He placed his hands over hers, "Yes you too, nice working with you... Mona."

Together they lowered their swords and plunged them to the ground where a burst of light erupted splitting the clouds. It was the beginning of a new friendship, a trust formed between two beings from opposite sides... united to help each other pursue their goals.

"So.... what's next?" Loid asked in confusion. "Heading straight home," Mona replied, "I'm dying for some food."

He raised an eyebrow, "It never actually crossed my mind that you needed food."

"Of course not," she answered, "I'm just eating the food for the taste actually." Mona folded her arms, "This body of mine actually generates energy from this realm, so it's basically impossible for me to actually get tired here, moreover, losing a fight..." she shrugged, "Pretty much impossible if I say so myself."

Loid stared at her, "Impossible, huh?". "Yep" she answered, "And more so my command prompt, only exists because I want it to exist." she added.

"So you are saying that you can't even find your command prompt unless you want it to exist?" he asked. "Exactly," Mona answered, "It's pretty hard to actually find my command prompt, as it only appears when I allow it to, so if I had died in our fight earlier, then the command prompt would've vanished too. But lets skip that and head home already, it's getting pretty dark."

"Home it is then," Loid replied, "But didn't you say your home is pretty far from here?". "Yep, but we can make it before dark if we fly at full speed," she answered.

He hesitated, "There's one problem, I'm... actually pretty exhausted from our fight." "No problem," Mona flashed a confident grin, "There's a faster way back-one that doesn't require using your energy." "There is?" he raised an eyebrow, "How?" he asked. Mona turned, smiling mischievously, "Follow me."
