Dorothy's POV
This kind of injury should have been fatal. In my medical training, anyone with throat trauma this severe would have died before reaching an operating table. The terror of making a mistake courses through me as I work on the final stitches. Even if Faith survives, there's no guarantee she'll swallow normally again. Speaking might be impossible forever.
"You're incredible, Luna," Natasha murmurs beside me.
I catch her gaze briefly, and whatever she sees in my expression makes her nod with quiet conviction. "Truly incredible."
My attention returns to Faith's mangled throat. Every piece of anatomical knowledge I possess goes into reconstructing the delicate tissue. The throat presents challenges unlike any other surgical site.
"Luna, I've finished with the other warriors. Alpha Joseph sent them to the packhouse for recovery," Simona announces, entering our makeshift operating room. Her eyes fall on Faith's still form.
"You should rest too, Simona."
