Synopsis
Synopsis: A sudden crisis strikes Esteria, a beautiful, sunny nation with a history of British colonization: portals open across the land, unleashing monsters controlled by the hostile multi-dimensional empire, the Children of the Abyss. To fight back, humanity is granted the power of the Magical Girl by a mysterious Emissary. But the rules of engagement are unusual—these heroes can be anyone, regardless of age or gender. Meet Arthur "Art" Hemlock, a thirty-something resident of agricultural Vineyard Town. Art is six-foot-five and impossibly muscular due to a rare genetic defect. When he transforms, he becomes the fiery, athletic, teenage-looking heroine, Blazing Rider, one of Esteria's most potent defenders against the invaders spilling out into places like Silver Harbour City. While Blazing Rider is busy dispatching Kaiju for a government paycheck, Art just wants to relax and finish his video games. He must balance the absurdity of his heroic transformation, his grounded civilian life, and the harsh reality that he and his fellow diverse Magical Girls are the only line of defense standing between Esteria and utter ruin. This is ready to go! Please share the draft for Chapter Two when you're ready, focusing on Arthur "Art" Hemlock's downtime in Vineyard Town.

Chapter 1 - Prologue - Burning Fist

A month ago, portals to another dimension suddenly began appearing everywhere. They consistently spilled out groups of around ten to thirty goblins at a time. The police and army were immediately put on high alert, knowing that any delay could result in civilian casualties, as it had during the initial incident.

About two weeks ago, a being called the Emissary of Light appeared. He informed us that our world was under threat from a group who called themselves the Children of the Abyss, whose ambition was to conquer the multiverse. Since the Emissary had many worlds to protect, their manpower was spread thin. To compensate, he would grant the power of the Magical Girl to the residents of our world. He explained that, based on his observations, the residents of our world were already familiar with the concept of a Magical Girl. While other power systems were considered, our world was deemed too young to implement complex systems like cultivation. Since then, Magical Girls have continually appeared to help defend our world from the Children of the Abyss.

I always thought all Magical Girls were preteens who used a special item to transform. To my surprise, anyone has a chance to become one, regardless of gender or age. A week ago, I was selected to be one, and my Magical Girl persona is called Blazing Rider.

My original appearance is six feet, five inches tall, mid-thirties, with short black hair and a muscular body. Due to a genetic anomaly, my muscles grow beyond what is normal, making me look like someone who uses steroids. However, in my Magical Girl form, I am five feet, ten inches tall, with long red hair that reaches my hips. My body is still muscular but looks athletic rather than excessively bulky. I look like a sixteen-year-old girl who wears a leather jacket, pants, and boots—a classic biker girl.

Now I understand why we are still called Magical Girls. Other than that, we are officially registered with the government. We don't fight monsters for free; we receive monthly payments, regardless of whether we had to fight that month. It's estimated that ten percent of our world's residents have Magical Girl powers, and there's a good chance the next one to appear might be an old man rather than a teenage girl.

The Fight

I was playing a video game when my walkie-talkie beeped. A voice sounded, informing me that a portal had appeared nearby. I answered and told them I was on my way.

I activated my power and transformed into a Magical Girl. It took me two minutes to run to the location, a distance that would normally require at least fifteen minutes of driving.

When I arrived, the police had already surrounded the area, and blockades were built to prevent the monsters from spreading. This time, it was a group of Lizardmen inside a shopping mall parking lot. Most of the cars had already fled the moment the portal opened.

I ran toward the nearest Lizardman. My flame-covered fist struck its chest before it even noticed my approach—that's how fast I was. The second one received a kick to the face, killing both with a single attack.

When the others noticed me, they tried to surround me to block my escape, but I just smiled. I channeled my power into my bracelet, which turned into a helmet. As I put it on, a flaming superbike descended from the sky, instantly crushing three of the Lizardmen. I mounted the superbike and began ramming the few survivors left from its landing.

It took me less than five minutes.

Then, the boss of the Lizardmen appeared. It was almost ten feet tall and wielded a spear and a shield. I pulled a full throttle and sent my superbike crashing into its shield. As the boss's shield splintered, I jumped high into the air. When I descended, I delivered my finisher: a flaming kick to its head, shattering the skull and killing the Lizardman boss immediately. It might have looked easy, but that Lizardman boss would normally require a missile shot just to make it stagger.

The police were cheering as I left the parking lot to get home and continue playing my game.
