Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Puppeteer In The Dark

The Kurogiri precinct was buzzing with tension when Luna walked in.

Officers whispered as she passed.

Some glanced at her like she was a ghost.

Others looked at her with open fear.

She ignored all of it.

Her hair was still wet from the night rain.

Her coat had dust from the collapsed rooftop.

But her expression remained calm… unreadable… dangerous.

The Captain's Suspicion

Captain Ryu stood at her desk.

"Officer Nakamori," he said, voice sharp.

"You were the last person seen near the factory district. An entire rooftop collapsed last night, and witnesses reported… unusual sounds."

Luna didn't blink.

"I was chasing a suspect connected to Case 14."

Ryu folded his arms.

"And yet you filed no report, contacted no team, and returned without evidence?"

Luna met his eyes with cold precision.

"My mistake," she lied calmly.

Everyone in the room shivered.

Because Luna never made mistakes.

A New Message

Ryu stepped back, uneasy.

Luna sat, powering on her computer.

A new file blinked on her screen—

UNSENT MESSAGE

From: Unknown

Time: 03:44 AM

Luna opened it.

There was no text.

Only a video.

The Video

The screen lit with static.

Then a voice.

Soft. Calm.

Unsettling.

"Good morning… Luna."

A man stepped into view.

Tall.

Elegant.

Wearing a long black coat.

Face hidden behind a porcelain mask with no eyes.

His voice was smooth—far too calm.

"I've been waiting to meet the girl who silenced five hearts."

Luna's pupils tightened.

He knew.

He knew everything.

The masked man tilted his head.

"You took something precious from me."

Behind him…

someone moved.

A figure chained to the wall.

Then the camera focused—

Bren.

Unconscious.

Barely breathing.

Shadow crawling under his skin.

The masked man brushed Bren's cheek gently.

"My little experiment tried to reach you before I was ready. Naughty boy."

Luna's grip on the mouse tightened until the plastic cracked.

The masked man leaned close to the camera.

"I revived them, Luna."

"All five."

The room around Luna seemed to freeze.

"Your past belongs to me now."

He raised a finger to his lips.

"And if you want them back…"

The video glitched—

a distorted smile filling the screen.

"…come find me in the dark."

The video ended.

Luna's Reaction

The entire precinct noticed when Luna stood up.

Quiet.

Controlled.

Emotionless.

But her shadow stretched across the floor

just a little too far.

Just a little too sharp.

Someone whispered:

"She looks… dangerous."

But Luna only said one thing:

"Case 14…

is mine."

And without waiting for permission,

she walked out of the building

toward the darkness that was calling her name.
