Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Violet's Chicken Roll

On the night he decided to adopt Skye, Finney returned to his room and drew his second skill, but the result was somewhat disappointing.

The second skill was worlds apart from 'Golden Grand Technique,' making Finney realize that this system could draw almost anything as a skill.

  "Violet's Chicken Roll"

"From: Food Wars! Description: A food that tastes as if it's been drugged."

When Finney saw the skill he drew, he almost thought he was seeing things. He never expected to draw a chicken roll, which made him fully experience the ups and downs of life.

It took a lot of effort for Finney to resist the urge to uninstall this damn system, although he didn't know how.

After secretly testing it, he found that the skill wasn't as useless as he had imagined.

Unlike 'Golden Grand Technique,' 'Violet's Chicken Roll' could be used immediately after being drawn, and it even had two release methods.

First, he could buy the ingredients himself and prepare the food in the kitchen step by step.

Second, he could summon it out of thin air. That's right, no raw materials or cooking utensils were needed. Just by using the skill, he could conjure it out of thin air within a one-meter radius of him, within his line of sight, and it would even come with its own packaging.

At that moment, Finney's first thought about this skill was that if he encountered any unexpected situations in the future, at least he wouldn't have to worry about going hungry.

At the same time, when making the 'Violet's Fried Chicken Rolls,' whether he made them himself or summoned them, he felt that his previously depleted experience bar had increased by a tiny, almost imperceptible amount, at least a little faster than the previous natural increase. This confirmed to him that the system's experience bar extraction was related to the use of skills.

Although the experience gained from each 'Violet's Fried Chicken Roll' was pitifully small, it still made Finney very happy, as it at least gave him hope for progress.

For a period of time afterward, Finney spent almost every day studying these two skills. He tried hard to recall the scene of summoning Skye the night before, hoping to use the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' again.

From Loki not having Little Gigi to Hulk having a good temper, Finney gradually lowered the limits of his abilities until he stared at a single hair, imagining it floating. After nearly a minute of thought, he finally succeeded in using the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' again.

Although the ability was terrifyingly weak, Finney was overjoyed and almost jumped for joy. Compared to the previous seven years of no progress, the situation was much better now.

Moreover, he had a direction to move forward: use the skill, gain experience, and then draw again.

After several tests, he also discovered a few key points for using the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique': first, one's mind must be pure, without too many distracting thoughts; second, language helps increase the chances of success because words can concentrate one's thoughts and make commands clearer.

For example, before, it would take him nearly a minute to make a strand of hair float, but with a 'command,' he could make it float in just three seconds.

Unfortunately, the experience gained from using the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' wasn't that much; in fact, the experience gained from making fried chicken rolls was less than what he gained from making hair-floating techniques.

This puzzled him, as summoning Skye would grant so much experience—equivalent to about five years of natural growth.

Although the 'Scarlet Chicken Rolls' provided a lot of experience, Finney dared not use them recklessly. Buying ingredients to make them was fine, but summoning large quantities out of thin air meant he couldn't finish them all, and throwing them away would easily attract attention. If S.H.I.E.L.D. discovered this, it wouldn't be a joke.

There was also the issue of skill consumption and progress. Finney found that using the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' too much would cause dizziness, but using the 'Scarlet Chicken Rolls' had almost no consumption and provided rapid progress.

When he first obtained the 'Scarlet Chicken Rolls,' it took Finney about ten seconds to use the skill, and he could only make one at a time.

Now, eight years later, he has reduced the production time to one second, the production range to five meters, and the ability to make two at a time. He believes that in any world, there is probably no one who can make chicken nugget rolls faster than him.

If Finney worked an eight-hour day without stopping, he could make over 50,000 chicken nugget rolls.

Forget physical laws, conservation of mass, forget scientific principles—Finney's 'Violet-themed Chicken Nugget Roll' is magic.

Eight years have passed, and Finney still hasn't fully filled his experience bar for his third chance. It's not that he hasn't tried hard enough, but the experience gained from the 'Violet Chicken Nuggets Roll' is simply too little.

He can't just randomly find a place to make them indefinitely, hence this result. Fortunately, after so much time, the experience bar is almost full, and he'll soon be able to obtain his third skill.

This also shows how much experience the first successful 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' generated.

Finney decided that if the third skill is still useless in combat, he'll have to find a way to improve his strength using existing elements from the Marvel universe.

His thoughts returned, and looking at the silent Skye in front of him, Finney sighed and said, "Let's go to the shop first. I'll tell you what happened earlier when we get there!"

Skye, affected by the previous conversation, didn't say much and started the car.

The shop Finney mentioned was a small eatery that Finney helped Skye open two years ago after she graduated high school.

The store wasn't large, but its location in the prime Upper East Side of Manhattan was incredibly valuable, even if it was a bit out of the way.

Arriving in Manhattan, a district of towering skyscrapers and overflowing goods, the first thing Finney saw through the car window was the iconic Stark Tower, a constant reminder of the world he was in.

In just one year, the still somewhat flamboyant playboy would usher in a new era.

Reaching the store, Finney glanced at the "Open Irregularly" sign on the door, looked helplessly at Skye standing innocently beside her, and casually took it down.

"Hey, Finney, Skye, you're finally here!"

"We've been waiting for you! Open the door already!"

As soon as they arrived, a group of people appeared out of nowhere, greeting them excitedly, then rushed to the door and lined up to wait for it to open.

"Finney, you're half an hour late today," the man closest to the door said impatiently as Finney opened the door.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Doko. There's a little something going on at school today!"

Finney greeted him with a smile. Although he ran a small eatery, he mainly sold one thing: his signature chicken nugget wraps, which he'd been making for eight years.

"Alright, alright, stop chatting, I'm starving."

One of the people in line behind him, looking at Finney's leisurely pace, called out irritably, then added expectantly, "Finney, if you ask me, you should just quit school. We'll invest in you, and you can turn your chicken nugget wraps into a chain. I guarantee they'll be a hit across America."

"Yeah, yeah, I'll definitely invest in you."

The crowd in line echoed, eager to spend their money. Skye, watching from the side, silently rolled her eyes. She was used to this kind of thing, but she had to admit that Finney's chicken nugget wraps were the best food she'd ever eaten.

"Alright, alright, I've already said it, this is just a hobby. I have dreams, though."

Finney shook his head helplessly, went inside to pack up. Although the shop said it was only open intermittently, he came almost every weekend to practice his skills, thus gaining a large number of loyal customers.
