Chapter 23 - Other Arrangements

Inside the brightly lit room, though not densely packed, Fulen saw a vast quantity of extraordinary materials, given that they were non-renewable resources.

Fulen carefully observed the extraordinary materialss displayed on the cabinets and several tables in the room, counting only one type of material. Slowly, he counted over a dozen sets. The value of these extraordinary materialss alone was around ten to twenty thousand pounds. Although Fulen was not without comparable wealth, he couldn't claim that all his wealth surpassed the extraordinary materialss before him by much.

These extraordinary materialss were laid out in a dazzling array, like cheap vegetables in a market. Fulen declared that he and his companions were stunned; in fact, the Apprentices beside Fulen were indeed stunned.

Fulen also heard someone next to him staring blankly, mumbling, "Am I crazy? extraordinary materialss, rarely seen at an Extraordinary Gathering, are being tossed around like weeds. This is simply blasphemy."

Fulen glanced at the remaining gentleman and lady, who appeared indifferent, as if accustomed to such sights. Amadi didn't even look at the items; he simply sat at an empty table, propped his feet up, and crossed his legs. Fulen found it hard to imagine someone adopting such a posture as their casual pose.

A sigh interrupted Fulen's thoughts. Lefu pointed at the pile of extraordinary materialss before them and said, "I originally thought that if I brought out the extraordinary materialss I've collected for so many years, many Apprentices would eagerly follow, attempting to advance. I thought that the birth of so many Trickmasters, while not changing much, would at least prevent me from being unable to face Ancestor Gabriel. However, however, alas."

Lefu then placed his hand on his forehead, his voice trembling slightly: "I remember, yes, although I am old, I still remember that the number of Apprentices in our Abraham Family in Trier is far greater than the number of Trickmasters. Did I remember incorrectly? Then why didn't they come? Can the glory of our Ancestor be obtained without a curse?"

Lefu 's voice, in Fulen's ears, seemed to hold a hint of a sob, but his next words made Fulen wonder if he had misheard, as the tremor in Lefu's voice disappeared: "Well, since you all are here, please tell me how well your Apprentices have digested, and how well the main materials for Trickmaster have been collected."

Several Apprentices individually reported their potion digestion progress. Three of the five had completed digestion, including Fulen, while the other two Apprentices had not yet completed digestion.

Lefu's face showed no unusual expression: "So, the three of you, do you wish to consume the potion here, or return home to prepare it yourselves?"

The three replied in unison, one after another: "Mr. Lefu, we hope to return home to prepare it. Please grant us this opportunity."

Lefu said no more, simply gave a copy of the five extraordinary materialss to each of the five, then waved for them to leave. Understanding Mr. Lefu's decisive manner, the five did not linger, but thanked Lefu one by one, then began to leave, one after another. Outside, five servants were already prepared to provide one-on-one service.

Fulen said nothing, but after walking a short distance, he spoke to the servant serving him: "I have some matters I need to ask Mr. Lefu. Please allow me to visit Mr. Lefu first."

Then, Fulen ignored what the servant said, simply turned back the way he came. The servant could only helplessly follow, worried that this meddlesome gentleman might cause trouble. The others, eager to prepare their Trickmaster potions, merely glanced at Fulen, then hurried back to their residences. Although the man who had not yet digested his Apprentice potion hesitated, under the pleading gaze of the servant leading him, he set aside his curiosity and let it be.

Following the path he had just taken, Fulen returned to the door of the unique room on the third floor. After knocking, Fulen pushed open the door.

The dazzling array of potions that had been there earlier had now vanished without a trace. Only two elders were chatting. Hearing the door open, they stopped their conversation, turned around, and stared with either cold or playful eyes at the rude guest who had interrupted their talk.

Fulen looked at the two elders, bowing apologetically. He noticed that the person wrapped in a thick cloak had removed their mask. As Fulen expected, this Abraham was a young woman.

Lefu looked at this Abraham who had come uninvited, his tone as calm as ever: "Didn't I say you could all be dismissed? Do you have something else you need to tell me privately?"

Fulen felt no worry. He knew that Mr. Crow was only outwardly cold, but as long as an Abraham truly had a request of him and did not overstep, this Abraham in charge of Trier would not mind lending a hand. In the Abraham Family at this stage, the position of elder was not particularly enviable. Dispersed Abrahams would not tolerate the existence of a repulsive elder; in fact, many Abrahams did not fear elders.

After all, no Abraham had ever broken through to Astrologer and become a Scribe. Even if they did, they would face the consequence of ultimately being unable to fully digest, and then be shouted to death by Bethel.

Fulen looked directly at this person in charge who had volunteered and helped many Abrahams, and said, "Mr. Crow, may I ask if the personal maid in this villa was personally chosen by you? Hearing your statement today, I highly suspect this personal maid is a member of Theosophy Order."

Unexpectedly, Mr. Lei Fu frowned and said, "Personal maid? Are you referring to my wife's personal maid? I don't have a personal maid; I only have a personal valet. And today, time was short, and I was afraid of being targeted, so I just used the 'Wandering Ring' to bring some extraordinary materialss and came."

Lefu quickly reacted: "Not good, exposed!!! But the 'Wandering Ring' I used, combined with my Beyonder ability for divination, was still interfered with. Could it be…?"

Lefu was already impatient to leave, but before he could, he remembered something even more important. He turned around and said, "Amadi, Sersei, as I just said, I have other arrangements to give you." Then he said to Fulen, who was about to turn and leave: "Don't go, Fulen. I'll tell you about this matter too. Although you are just an Apprentice, with your quick wit, you will also be helpful to the revival of the Abraham Family."
