Tony set the car down on the ground, allowing the driver to escape. Obadiah, meanwhile, latched onto another speeding motorcycle.
Whether the unfortunate passenger on that bike would be thrown to his death no longer mattered.
Tony smashed into the motorcycle and then plowed into a city bus in the adjacent lane, knocking it over.
Before Tony could even get back on his feet, the Iron Monger leapt into the air and came crashing down on Mark II.
Not once—he stomped on him twice, lifting his right foot and slamming it down again.
"Can you feel the difference in our power now, Tony? My God—I absolutely love this armor!"
As he spoke, Obadiah grabbed Tony and hurled him into a nearby bus.
The bus's body crumpled like thin sheet metal, nearly splitting in two.
Fortunately, the bus had already come to an emergency stop and all the passengers had escaped.
Otherwise, that single blow could have caused countless deaths.
Tony knew there were too many civilians around. If the fight continued here, he had no idea how many people would be dragged into it.
After getting back up, he didn't wait for Obadiah to attack again. Instead, he redirected all remaining power to propulsion.
Flames erupted from the thrusters in his hands and feet, launching Mark II straight into the sky.
"Tony, it looks like you've improved your suit," Obadiah's voice echoed, "but unfortunately, I've made plenty of upgrades myself!"
Following his voice, two columns of thick smoke blasted from the Iron Monger's feet, slowly lifting the massive suit into the air.
In terms of speed, the Iron Monger was no match for Mark II.
But the Iron Monger's arc reactor was brand new—while Tony's reactor was old and nearly drained.
Higher and higher they climbed.
The Iron Monger gradually closed the distance.
"Power efficiency below 12%!"
"Power efficiency below 9%!"
J.A.R.V.I.S.'s warnings rang in Tony's ears one after another.
"Stop talking—just put it on the screen!" Tony shouted, still climbing.
He was fully focused on altitude, calculating whether he could freeze the Iron Monger and make him fall.
As long as that worked, he could make it back safely.
"Boom!"
Metal slammed into metal.
Tony felt his upward momentum suddenly halt.
The Iron Monger had caught up and seized his ankle.
"Damn it!"
Tony cursed as the Iron Monger yanked him close, pulling him into its grasp.
Two massive hands clamped around the neck of Tony's armor—
like an adult holding a helpless infant.
The good news was that frost had already begun forming on the Iron Monger's surface.
They continued to rise.
"Do you see this, Tony?" Obadiah shouted. "I'm stronger than you. More powerful. This is the true potential of the arc reactor!"
"Oh? Then how did you deal with the icing problem?" Tony replied.
The Iron Monger had already reached the maximum altitude Mark II could achieve.
The little power Tony had left would barely be enough to get him back to the ground.
So when he asked the question, his tone was almost relaxed.
"Icing problem?" Obadiah asked, still confused.
By then, the Iron Monger was completely covered in frost.
It could no longer sustain flight.
Even the reactor in its chest began to dim.
"You really should've checked that," Tony said lightly, tapping the Iron Monger's head.
Deprived of power, the Iron Monger's hands loosened.
The massive suit plummeted toward the ground.
Tony let out a long breath.
He no longer had enough energy to fly properly.
All he could do was fall freely, occasionally firing his thrusters to slow his descent.
After a violent tumble, he smashed through the rooftop railing.
He landed on the roof of Stark Industries.
The armor rolled across the floor—his left arm piece even flew off somewhere—before finally coming to a stop.
"Thank God…" Tony muttered.
He immediately contacted Pepper.
"Pepper, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Tony. What about you?"
Pepper had watched both Iron Monger and Tony rise into the sky.
The enormous difference in their sizes had terrified her.
"I'm okay—just out of power. I need to get out of the suit first. Oh—!"
Before he could finish, the Iron Monger climbed up from behind and smashed Tony away with a single punch.
Unfortunately for Obadiah, Tony didn't fall to his death like before.
He regained control midair and flew back.
Stabilizing himself, Tony instinctively raised his left hand to fire a repulsor—
only to realize the left arm was gone.
With no other choice, he used what little strength he had left to leap to the Iron Monger's head level.
He drove a punch straight into its head.
"Bang!"
That was all it did.
Without enough power, Mark II's punches and kicks were utterly ineffective against the Iron Monger's thick armor.
The Iron Monger reached out again, grabbing Tony around the waist.
He intended to crush both Tony and the armor together.
But Tony didn't become Iron Man by relying on the suit alone.
In that critical moment, he used his right hand to tear apart several external connection cables on the Iron Monger.
This was one of the Iron Monger's flaws.
The entire suit was made from extremely thick solid alloy—granting it incredible defense, but forcing its weapon systems to remain external.
Unlike in the movie, Tony had no time to disable its sensors.
Obadiah reacted quickly, grabbing Tony by the neck and flinging him away.
This time, Tony had no power left at all.
He lay on the ground, gasping for air, as the Iron Monger leapt again and charged straight at him.
"It's over, Tony!"
Bullets couldn't penetrate Tony's armor, so Obadiah chose brute force.
A massive metal fist swung down.
"Boom!"
A normal-sized fist appeared out of nowhere.
It caught the Iron Monger's punch midair.
A deep, thunderous impact followed—
and an overwhelming shockwave rippled outward.
"I think we should go pick out furniture for my new house together," Qin Xiao said casually, withdrawing his fist.
He turned to Tony on the ground and smiled.
"What do you think, Tony?"
