Chapter 9 - 9: Blood in the snow [2]

Okay, let's try the Shunko.

I slightly lower my body and spread my legs.

I place my arms at chest level.

I clench my fists at my sides and begin to manipulate the mana in my fists.

Little by little, the mana from my fists flowed to my arms, shoulders, back, and legs.

Gradually, I begin to release mana from my arms, legs, and back at a slow and intermittent speed.

About 30 seconds later, I lose concentration and the mana dissipated into the air.

"Ha, ha, ha, I'm so tired," I sigh tiredly with my hands on my knees.

Sweat constantly drips down my cheeks.

"My body isn't used to releasing mana from other parts of my body besides my hands yet."

"If I practice constantly, my body will get used to it; after all, mana has its source in the soul."

"And the soul has the form of the body, which means that mana can be released throughout the entire body."

"Like the mana skin that covers the entire body of the mage."

"Come on! I have to practice constantly to get used to it."

And once again, I began to release mana from my fists.

4 months later.

It's spring now, and the flowers have grown back after the winter.

The warm wind in the air brightens the sadness of winter.

Near the three-eyed demon's skull, strong currents of wind are felt, whipping through the air at high speed.

"Mukyu Shunko!" A high-speed green wind drill attacks a rock.

The loud sound of exploding rocks and fierce winds violently tears through the air.

The dust from the explosion rises upwards.

A human figure can be seen in the dust.

A gust of wind blows the surrounding dust away.

A girl with blue hair in two pigtails and without her upper body clothing stands there.

"How tiring." "Although I've completely mastered the full Mukyū Shunkō, it doesn't have enough power to destroy a multi-story building."

"I can only destroy a building the size of the church."

"Haaa, I just need to practice Mukyū Shunkō more so I can release mana faster and more consistently."

"Even though I've learned Mukyū Shunkō, I need to increase the speed of my mana release."

"But I can't keep using Shunko without clothes; after all, it's quite embarrassing to fight naked, unless it's a life-or-death battle where clothes are the least of my worries."

Calmly, I use Shunpo and walk towards a tree, grab my shirt from a branch, and put it on.

'I think I have to go to the Land of the Rising Sun, or this world's Japan, to get clothes similar to Soi Fon's,' I think while looking at my pants, which are a little torn at the sides.

'Although I turned eight on February 27th, I don't think Father will let me go alone.'

'So I'll have to leave secretly.'

'I'd better leave a farewell letter for Father and Sister Lily.'

'I think I'll leave tonight; after all, Sister Lily is very perceptive and might get suspicious.'

While I finish thinking, I run into Yuno, who is training near the church.

After the promise between Yuno and Asta, the two started training every day.

They both secretly asked me for help separately.

They were quite cute and childish, a very precious memory for me.

I remember it quite clearly.

"Hey Yuno, how's your training? Have you mastered [Fura] yet?" I ask Yuno while he's training.

"Ah, it's Wendy, but I'm still learning [Fura], but I think I'm about to master [Fura]," Yuno replied cheerfully.

"That's good, you're very talented, Yuno, but remember, great talent requires great effort to become strong."

"Yes, thank you, Wendy."

"Do you know where Asta is, Yuno?" "Asta is in the village; his father sent him to collect the village's sweet potatoes."

"Thanks, Yuno, keep coming in."

As I headed towards the church, I detoured to one of the traps I had set and found some wild chickens.

I broke their necks and took them to the church.

"Sister, we're lucky today, I brought wild chickens for dinner!" I shouted loudly as I entered the back of the church.

"Oh, that's great, we haven't had meat in three days," Recca exclaimed happily.

"Thank you for bringing the chickens, Wendy," Sister Lily replied.

"That's our Wendy, she's the pride of our church," Father Orsi suddenly appeared out of nowhere, lifted Wendy up, and gave her a hug.

"Yes, yes, Father, I'm the pride of the church," I replied to the priest emotionlessly.

Father Orsi put me down in the church, then turned around and said, "This is a joy for this church."

I felt a little guilty about leaving tonight and only leaving him a farewell letter.

"Wendy, is something wrong?" Sister Lily asked me, a little worried.

"Uh, it's nothing, Sister," it seems Sister Lily noticed, I'd better not think about anything.

How terrifying.

Night.

Everyone is sleeping in the church right now.

I slowly get up from the floor and then walk silently towards the door.

I leave the church quietly and then head into the forest.

I secretly take out a large canteen, a map of the Clover Kingdom, and money from a hollow in a tree.

All of this is my loot that I got after killing some bandits.

For some reason, some bandits had settled in the woods near the village.

They were probably running away from magic knights.

After all, who would only think to hide in a place as remote as Hage Village?

I stumbled upon them by chance, and they tried to kill me to silence me.

And instinctively, I got excited and killed them with a smile of excitement on my face.

Snow is constantly falling from the sky.

The blood stains the white snow a terrifying crimson.

Bodies are scattered everywhere on the ground.

The trail of blood creates a path to a hidden cave.

Soon, terrifying screams came from the cave.

"HAAAAA! Forgive me!"

"It's a demon, run!"

Soon the screams stopped.

"Let's see, let's see, where's the money?" I say as I walk deeper into the cave.

"Here it is!" I exclaim as I see a wooden box full of money.

At this moment, I feel quite calm about having killed these bandits.

In fact, I felt a little joyful killing them.

I don't think I'm a homicidal maniac who kills everyone I see, but I think I only kill the evil-hearted.

After all, the villains in this world aren't truly evil.

Except for Lucius Zogratis, he's quite evil.

It's just that his ideas clash with those of the Clover Kingdom.

But I remember there was a villain after the time skip who was quite evil. "Oh, so much money," I said as I grabbed a rather bulky bag of money.

"This is the first time I've seen so much money."

"Oh, there's also a map of the Clover Kingdom and a magic broom," I said, picking up the magic broom.

I tried out the magic broom.

"1, 2, 3," it slowly began to float towards the sky after I left the cave.

But shortly after, I felt nauseous and fell sideways from the sky.

"Mmmph Ugh."

"I feel so nauseous."

"I think I'll have to learn about mana zones in the future so I can fly."

"What memories," I said after reminiscing about the past.

"But I'll have to learn about mana zones soon."

Using Shunpo to travel long distances.

I hope my journey doesn't last too long.
