Chapter 3: Selene
The rain hasn't stopped. Neon lights slice through puddles, casting fractured reflections across Nocturne's streets. Every shadow is alive. Every corner, a potential threat.
Kael Voss moves silently along the rooftops, mask reflecting the chaos below. Iris Han is beside him, eyes glued to her terminal. The Eclipse is relentless, but tonight, Kael senses something else—something personal.
THE DISCOVERY
In the midst of a Black Eclipse supply raid, Kael spots her: a shadow moving with uncanny precision, bypassing guards and cameras.
Selene Voss.
Her movements are familiar—too familiar. Kael freezes for a fraction of a second. Memories flash: a past life before the Wraith, before loss, before the shadows consumed him.
Iris whispers, tense:
"Who is she?"
Kael's voice is low, almost trembling:
"Someone I thought I lost… or someone I never truly knew."
A PERSONAL STAKE
Selene is not just a ghost from Kael's past.
Her presence is intertwined with The Eclipse.
She manipulates city systems with ease, guiding operatives like pieces on a chessboard.
Her motives are murky—ally, enemy, or something in between.
Kael follows her into an abandoned power station. The sound of electricity hums like the city's heartbeat.
Selene turns, mask off. Rain slicks her hair.
"Kael…" she says softly.
"You didn't expect to see me again, did you?"
Kael tightens his fists.
"You've been hiding in the shadows… helping them?"
Selene smiles faintly.
"I'm not helping anyone but the city. And maybe… I'm helping you see the truth."
FIRST CONFLICT
Before Kael can respond, Eclipse operatives surround them.
Guns flash.
Drones buzz overhead.
Sparks ignite as Kael and Selene fight back-to-back, an unexpected synergy of skill.
Iris guides Kael remotely.
"They're closing in—take the high ground!"
Kael and Selene move like shadows in perfect sync, eliminating enemies, covering each other's weaknesses.
After the skirmish, Selene steps back.
"I'm not your enemy, Kael. But I can't be your ally… not fully."
Kael glares, mask reflecting rain and neon:
"Then what are you?"
Selene disappears into the shadows, leaving more questions than answers.
ENDING NOTE
Kael stands alone atop the power station, watching her silhouette vanish into the city.
Iris's voice crackles through the comm:
"She's… special. But dangerous."
Kael mutters, voice low:
"The city already has enough enemies. And now… someone from my past walks among them."
Above, Viktor Hale surveys from a distant rooftop, calculating, waiting.
The hunt becomes personal.
