Seeing this, the neighbors concluded that the three of them all had ulterior motives and shot them scornful, contemptuous looks.

May Sutton's face burned with shame.

Vivian Lee understood the implication and immediately retorted, "Sister, what nonsense are you spouting? It was obviously Aunt Tate and Nick Hughes fooling around. When I got here, Nick was still shirtless! What does this have to do with my mom?"

At these words, Aunt Tate couldn't take it. Her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.

The crowd might have been there for the drama, but at the critical moment, their better nature won out. They all scrambled to get her to the hospital.

Nick Hughes and Chloe Hughes went with them.

May Sutton left as well.

Only Cecilia Adler and Vivian Lee were left at home.

The two glared at each other before turning and retreating to their own rooms.

Recalling the heart-pounding events of the day, Cecilia Adler felt utterly drained, both in body and mind.
