"Miss Sterling, what are you saying…?" Joy Dalton's face turned white as a sheet. 'How could Mrs. Sterling know about this? How?'
Joy Dalton turned to look at Sharon Dalton. Seeing Sharon fearfully avoid her gaze, she knew the girl must have let it slip.
'But how could this have happened? That girl has always been so level-headed. She would never have revealed this without my permission. Something must be wrong!'
However, Joy Dalton was in no mood to analyze any of this. The most important thing right now was dealing with Mrs. Sterling and figuring out how to turn the situation to her advantage.
"Miss Sterling, what are you talking about? I don't understand," Joy Dalton said, a look of innocent confusion on her face. She then turned to Timothy. "Timothy, what's gotten into your mother? I can't understand a word she's saying."
