Chapter 43 - Meeting

Not long after, Lime and the other nine ninjas returned.

"Waka-sama, the mission is complete," Lime reported as he knelt before Makoto.

"So, what was their objective?" Makoto asked.

"Waka-sama, they came to confirm what Rembrandt planned to do after selling all of his assets," Lime replied.

"Hm, it seems your movements have made some people uneasy, Rembrandt-san," Makoto said.

"There's nothing I can do about that, Waka-sama. If I were in their position, I would also try to find out what was going on," Rembrandt replied.

"In that case, let's depart. Tomoe, please help them carry their belongings," Makoto said.

"Leave it to me, Waka," Tomoe replied.

Makoto then opened a portal leading to the world of Eryndal.

"Everyone, please go in," Makoto said.

"Yes, Waka-sama," Rembrandt replied. With Makoto guiding them, they all moved smoothly to the world of Eryndal. Upon arrival, Selena was already waiting for them in the city plaza to record their names and inform them where they would be staying.

"Rembrandt-san, allow me to introduce her. She is also my follower—her name is Selena. She manages this city on my behalf," Makoto said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Selena-sama," Rembrandt said.

"I've heard from Waka-sama that Rembrandt-san is a very talented person," Selena said.

"No, no. Waka-sama is exaggerating. I merely understand how the market works," Rembrandt replied modestly.

After the relocation of Rembrandt and his family was complete, Makoto returned to his residence with Tomoe. He then saw Erin and Koyuki playing chess in the living room, while Komoe watched them from the side. When Erin noticed Makoto arrive, she asked,

"Onii-chan, are you done with your business?"

"Yes, Erin, but it seems I forgot something," Makoto replied.

"Waka, it seems you forgot to go see the Goddess," Tomoe said.

"Oh, right. After meeting Hibiki and successfully recruiting Rembrandt, I forgot to visit the Goddess," Makoto said.

"Alright, I'll go see her now, before I forget again," Makoto said, then used a portal to travel to the Goddess's world.

Makoto arrived in a forest not far from the city of Tsige.

"Nueria, can you detect where the Goddess is?" Makoto asked.

[Understood. Activating Ultimate Skill: Domination to detect the Goddess in this world.]

[Complete. A sub-dimension where the Goddess resides has been found.]

Hearing this, Makoto smiled. Without hesitation, he opened a portal to the sub-dimension where the Goddess was located. He appeared in a beautiful garden filled with flowers. Before him stood a magnificent structure resembling a Greek temple. Makoto walked toward it.

"Who are you?! Why are you here?!" shouted a small fairy who appeared before him.

"I want to meet the Goddess," Makoto replied calmly.

"Without the Goddess's permission, no one is allowed to enter this place," the fairy said.

Makoto ignored her and continued walking into the temple.

"Stooop!" the fairy shouted, tugging at Makoto's clothes, but it had no effect.

Makoto proceeded into a room that felt familiar to him. In front of him, he saw the Goddess lazily sitting on a sofa.

"What's going on? Why is it so noisy?" the Goddess said.

"Yo, Goddess. You still look as arrogant as ever," Makoto said.

"You… how can you be here?" the Goddess demanded.

"Is it really that difficult to come here?" Makoto replied.

"You lowly being! How dare you set foot in this place!" the Goddess shouted, releasing divine light to suppress Makoto. However, Makoto remained standing calmly.

"Are you done?" Makoto asked, then released a small amount of his own divine aura. Even that small amount was enough to overwhelm the Goddess's aura.

"Impossible! How do you possess divine aura—no, how is it even stronger than mine?!" the Goddess exclaimed in shock.

"Can we talk now? I don't really like violence," Makoto said calmly, withdrawing his aura.

Realizing that Makoto was stronger than her, the Goddess spoke in a sulky tone.

"What do you want?"

Makoto shook his head slightly at her childish temperament.

"I want to know the coordinates of my previous world," Makoto said.

"Why should I tell you?" the Goddess replied arrogantly.

"Don't test my patience, Goddess. The fact that I don't interfere in human affairs anymore is already generous of me—after what you did to me," Makoto said coldly.

The Goddess fell silent and thought for a moment, knowing she was at a disadvantage.

"In exchange for the coordinates, I want you to do one thing for me," she said.

"What is it? As long as it's not troublesome, I can do it," Makoto replied.

"I want you to defeat the Demon Race," the Goddess said.

"I told you not to test my patience. Even without you, I can find the coordinates of my previous world—it would just take some time. And let me remind you, time is meaningless to beings of our level," Makoto said seriously.

"Alright, alright then. Could you at least bring down the Stella Fortress?" the Goddess said.

"Hm, fine. After I return from my previous world, I'll do it," Makoto replied casually.

"Then our agreement is made," the Goddess said.

"In that case, I'll be leaving," Makoto said, opening a portal to depart. After watching Makoto leave, the Goddess muttered in frustration,

"Just who is he? How did Misumi become stronger than me?"

Makoto did not immediately return to the world of Eryndal. Instead, he briefly passed through the Goddess's world again and used camouflage before opening a portal to Eryndal. Although it was nearly impossible for the Goddess to detect Eryndal, Makoto did not want to take any risks.

After returning to his residence, Makoto met Tomoe, who was still sitting on the sofa with Erin, while Komoe and Koyuki were playing chess.

"Waka, you came back quickly. Is your business with the Goddess finished?" Tomoe asked.

"Everything's settled. I got the coordinates of my previous world from her. In exchange, I'll bring down the Stella Fortress," Makoto said.

"That's all? Has the Goddess really become that agreeable?" Tomoe asked.

"Of course not. At first, she wanted me to defeat the Demon Race, so I threatened her a little," Makoto said casually.

Before long, night fell, and everyone gathered in the dining room for dinner. During the meal, Makoto told them about the Goddess.

"Waka-sama, so now we can go to Waka-sama's previous world?" Mio asked.

"Yes, Mio. If nothing urgent comes up, we can go to my old world tomorrow," Makoto replied.

"Yay! I can go to Waka-sama's world!" Koyuki cheered. Then she remembered something and said sadly, "It's too bad Erin can't come with us."

"Staying here is fine for me. I'm not that interested in other worlds," Erin said.

"For now, I also can't go, Waka-sama. Many projects are underway—onsen construction, banks, schools, hospitals, and other public facilities," Selena said.

"Can't you leave those to your subordinates?" Tomoe asked.

"I could, Tomoe-sama, but I'd feel uneasy if I didn't handle them myself," Selena replied.

"If you can't go, don't worry about it. There will be plenty of opportunities later. You can also keep Erin company," Makoto said.

"Waka-sama, I'll keep Erin-chan company too," Komoe said cheerfully.

Hearing this, Koyuki hesitated. Seeing her expression, Erin said with a smile,

"Koyuki, you can go with Onii-chan. You don't need to worry about me."

Hearing Erin's words, Koyuki jumped up and hugged her.

"Thank you, Erin!" Koyuki said.

"Hey, Koyuki! Don't jump over the dining table. That's rude," Hakuren said from beside her.

"Isn't it fine? Waka-sama didn't scold me, so why are you angry?" Koyuki retorted.

"That and this are different matters," Hakuren replied.

"Hahaha, you two, hurry up and eat while the food is still warm," Makoto said with a laugh.

"Yes, Waka-sama," Hakuren and Koyuki replied, returning to their seats.

After dinner, Makoto did not forget to practice archery every few days. Although his magical energy had reached a level even he did not fully understand, Makoto felt as though his energy was limitless. Even when he once tried transferring a large portion of it to Erin, it only caused her to grow several dozen meters. Now, he simply let the energy that unconsciously overflowed from his body flow into Erin, which was enough for her to grow slowly—and Erin did not mind growing at a gradual pace.

The next morning, Makoto woke up as usual and had breakfast with everyone. Afterward, they gathered in the courtyard of Makoto's residence.

"Erin, could you create a portal connecting the two worlds?" Makoto asked.

"Leave it to me, Onii-chan," Erin replied.

"I'll go first. If we all go at once, I'm worried the gods over there might think we're attacking their world," Makoto said.

Once the portal was created, Makoto said, "Wait for my word," and stepped into it. The portal closed automatically behind him. After passing through, Makoto found himself falling from the sky. Without hesitation, he used flight magic to stop his fall.

"It seems the Goddess holds a bit of a grudge against me," Makoto muttered as he flew through the sky.

Looking around, he saw a city not far away—and an iconic structure: Tokyo Tower.

"First, I should greet the gods of this world," Makoto said.

"Nueria, please detect any hidden dimensions or sub-dimensions," Makoto ordered.

[Understood.]

[Searching complete. Sub-dimension detected.]

After receiving the coordinates, Makoto opened a portal and entered it. He appeared on the peak of a mountain, and at its base stood a Japanese-style shrine. Makoto headed toward it. As he approached, he saw a shrine maiden sweeping fallen leaves.

"Excuse me, I'd like to ask something," Makoto said.

The shrine maiden was startled by his presence.

"Who are you? How did you come here?" she asked warily.

"If I may ask, whose shrine is this?" Makoto said.

"This is the shrine of Amaterasu-sama," the shrine maiden replied cautiously.

"Oh, then it seems I've come to the right place. My name is Misumi Makoto. I owe a great debt to Tsukuyomi-sama. May I ask how I can meet him?" Makoto said.

"Please wait here for a moment. I will report this to Amaterasu-sama," the shrine maiden said, then left.

Not long after, the shrine maiden returned with a beautiful woman radiating an elegant aura.

"Are you Misumi Makoto? Didn't my younger brother send you to another world?" Goddess Amaterasu asked.

"That's correct, Goddess Amaterasu. I came here to repay my debt to Tsukuyomi-sama, who helped me greatly in the past," Makoto replied.

"Unfortunately, my brother is currently asleep, recovering his strength. He cannot meet you right now," Amaterasu said.

"May I see Tsukuyomi-sama? I might be able to heal him," Makoto said.

"You?" Amaterasu asked in confusion. Makoto then released a small amount of his divine aura, causing Amaterasu to widen her eyes in shock.

After thinking for a moment, Goddess Amaterasu agreed.

"Very well, follow me inside. Tsukuyomi is currently sealing himself due to exhaustion from overexertion," she said.

Makoto followed her into the shrine and arrived at a special room covered in seals from the outside. When Amaterasu opened it, Makoto saw Tsukuyomi lying asleep atop an altar.

"As you can see, Tsukuyomi is extremely weak right now. It will take several hundred years for him to fully recover," Goddess Amaterasu said.
