Chapter 44 - Speaking

When Makoto saw the god Tsukuyomi lying on the altar, he spoke up.

"May I approach him?" Makoto asked.

"Please," Goddess Amaterasu replied.

Makoto then walked closer to Tsukuyomi.

Nueria, can you analyze Lord Tsukuyomi's body? Makoto asked in his mind.

[Understood]

[Analyzing the body of the individual God Tsukuyomi]

[Complete. The individual God Tsukuyomi is detected to be exhausted of divine energy, causing his body to automatically enter a sleep state to accelerate the recovery of divine energy.]

Can you heal him? Makoto asked inwardly.

[Yes. By transferring divine energy from Master to the individual God Tsukuyomi, he can be awakened.]

"Amaterasu-sama, I can awaken God Tsukuyomi. May I do so?" Makoto said.

Goddess Amaterasu was startled upon hearing Makoto's words.

"Very well. If you can make Tsukuyomi awaken, I will be deeply grateful to you," Amaterasu said.

Makoto then placed his hand on Tsukuyomi's chest. With Nueria's assistance, his divine energy was softened to ease the transfer process. Makoto then transferred his divine energy to Tsukuyomi. Goddess Amaterasu watched in shock as Makoto transferred divine energy, but she said nothing and simply observed.

After a short while, Tsukuyomi, who had received Makoto's divine energy, slowly began to awaken. When Tsukuyomi regained consciousness, he saw Makoto standing beside him and looked confused. He then sat up and looked around. Upon seeing Goddess Amaterasu, he asked,

"Nee-sama, what happened? Why is Makoto here?" Tsukuyomi asked.

"Makoto came from the Goddess's world to repay his debt to you. He then transferred his divine energy to you, which allowed you to awaken," Amaterasu explained.

"How are you feeling, Tsukuyomi-sama?" Makoto asked.

"Makoto, I am very grateful to you for awakening me. But are you truly alright? Divine energy is extremely precious to gods. It is very difficult to recover once too much of it is used," Tsukuyomi said.

"I'm really fine, Tsukuyomi-sama. After all, because of me, you ended up exhausting your divine energy," Makoto replied.

"Makoto, thank you for awakening Tsukuyomi. I am truly grateful to you," Amaterasu said.

"It's no problem, Amaterasu-sama. I did it because I was able to," Makoto replied.

"At the very least, allow me to host you, who came all this way and awakened Tsukuyomi," Amaterasu said.

"Very well, Amaterasu-sama. I'll gladly accept," Makoto replied.

They then moved to the living room. The shrine maiden Makoto had met earlier brought them tea and snacks.

"Makoto, although I am very grateful that you awakened me, what you did earlier was extremely risky. We gods can obtain divine energy from our followers. If I'm not mistaken, Makoto, you've only recently become a god, correct? What if you were to exhaust your divine energy and fall asleep as well?" Tsukuyomi said.

"I'm truly fine, Tsukuyomi-sama," Makoto said as he released a small amount of his divine aura.

"What!?" Tsukuyomi exclaimed in shock, while Goddess Amaterasu covered her mouth in astonishment.

"Makoto, how did you become this strong in such a short time?" Tsukuyomi asked.

"Tsukuyomi, it's rude to ask about someone else's secrets," Amaterasu said sternly.

"Please forgive me, Makoto. I was simply too shocked. At first, I was already surprised that you had become a god, but seeing you grow this strong in such a short time leaves me at a loss for words," Tsukuyomi said.

"Amaterasu-sama, Tsukuyomi-sama, I would like to ask something," Makoto said.

"What is it, Makoto? If it's not difficult, I'll answer," Tsukuyomi replied.

"Are there many powerful gods in this world?" Makoto asked.

"In the modern era, most gods have weakened. Only gods and goddesses with a sufficiently large number of followers still retain considerable power," Amaterasu answered.

"Is something the matter, Makoto?" Tsukuyomi asked.

"Actually, I want to bring some of my followers to this world. I'm worried that doing so might cause misunderstandings with the gods and goddesses here," Makoto said.

"Gods and goddesses cannot easily interfere in worldly affairs. As long as you do not destroy the world or declare war, we won't make an issue of it. Moreover, you were born in this world. Even though Tsukuyomi erased this world's mark from you, this world can still sense your presence," Amaterasu said.

"Then I have nothing to worry about," Makoto said.

After conversing with Goddess Amaterasu and God Tsukuyomi, Makoto took his leave.

"Amaterasu-sama, Tsukuyomi-sama, I'll be going now," Makoto said.

"Take care on your journey, Makoto," Tsukuyomi replied.

"If you have time, feel free to come again," Amaterasu added.

"Yes, Tsukuyomi-sama, Amaterasu-sama," Makoto said, then created a portal and stepped into it.

After the portal closed, Amaterasu spoke.

"He truly is a mysterious individual."

"At first, I only thought Makoto was unique, but it seems I misjudged him from the start. He's not only unique, but special," Tsukuyomi said.

"Oh? It's rare to see you praise someone so highly," Amaterasu remarked.

"Because Makoto deserves that praise," Tsukuyomi replied.

After exiting the portal, Makoto stood atop an abandoned building on the outskirts of Tokyo. After confirming that there were no cameras or people nearby, he contacted Erin.

"Erin, everything here is finished. You can open the portal using the coordinates I gave you," Makoto said.

"Okay, onii-chan, leave it to me!" Erin replied cheerfully.

"Nueria, can you hack the system and create legal identities for Tomoe, Mio, Shiki, Koyuki, and Hakuren? Also prepare smartphones for them and the general rules they need to learn in this world," Makoto said.

[Understood]

[Hacking the world system: complete]

[Creating identities for individual Tomoe, Mio, Shiki, Koyuki, and Hakuren: complete]

[Creating smartphones: complete]

"Seriously, you're incredibly helpful, Nueria. Now I won't be troubled when making identities in the modern world," Makoto said.

Soon, a portal appeared in front of Makoto, and Tomoe and the others emerged. Makoto noticed shadows beneath Tomoe's feet.

"Tomoe, did you bring the ninjas?" Makoto asked.

"Of course, Waka. This is a great opportunity for them to learn how to deal with various situations," Tomoe said confidently.

"Do as you like," Makoto replied.

Nueria, can you make identities for them as well? Makoto asked inwardly.

[Understood]

[Creating identities… complete]

"Lime, all of you, come out of the shadows," Makoto said.

"Yes!" Lime and the other nine ninjas replied as they knelt before him.

Makoto then handed out their ID cards.

"These are your identification cards and smartphones. Inside, you'll find guidelines and rules you must follow. Don't lose them," Makoto said as he handed them out one by one.

"Thank you, Waka," Tomoe said.

"Thank you, Waka-sama," Mio said.

"I'll be careful, Waka-sama," Shiki said.

"Yay! Thank you, Waka-sama!" Koyuki said.

"Thank you, Waka-sama," Hakuren said.

"Thank you very much, Waka-sama," Lime and the others said.

"Also, hide your weapons. You won't need them here," Makoto added.

"Um, Waka-sama, may I ask you something?" Hakuren asked.

"What is it, Hakuren?" Makoto replied.

"Ever since I came to this world, my body feels very heavy," Hakuren said.

"Waka-sama, we feel the same way," Lime added.

"It's normal for Koyuki and Hakuren to struggle a bit since they're still children. But Lime, it seems your training is still insufficient," Tomoe said.

"It's only natural, Tomoe. This world has no divine blessings, so even daily activities make the body feel heavy," Makoto said.

"You can learn how to use smartphones later. For now, let's go to my house. Lime, return to hiding in my shadow," Makoto said.

"Yes, Waka-sama," Lime and the others replied.

"Alright, let's go to my house," Makoto said.

"Yes, Waka / Waka-sama," they answered.

Makoto then created a portal leading to his house's yard.

When Makoto stepped out of the portal, he saw the house he once lived in and felt a deep sense of nostalgia, as if he hadn't returned home in years. He walked to the front door and rang the bell. Footsteps echoed from inside, and when the door opened, Makoto saw his mother.

"I'm home, Mom," Makoto said with a smile.

His mother froze in shock.

"Makoto!" she cried out and immediately hugged him with tears in her eyes.

Makoto hugged her back.

"Mom, who's outside? Why are you shouting?" Yukiko's voice came from inside.

When she reached the door and saw Makoto, she was equally shocked.

"Makoto!" Yukiko exclaimed and ran to hug him.

"I'm home, nee-chan," Makoto said as he hugged his older sister.

After a while, his mother and sister released him.

"Makoto, I never imagined I'd be able to see you again," his mother said.

"Makoto, I heard from Mom and Dad that you went to another world," Yukiko said.

"That's right, nee-chan," Makoto replied.

"Let's go inside first. You can introduce your friends to us," his mother said.

They went inside and sat in the living room. Makoto's mother brought drinks for everyone. Seeing this, Tomoe and Mio stood up to help her.

"Okaa-sama, you don't need to trouble yourself," Tomoe said.

"Yes, Okaa-sama, please let us handle it. You can sit on the sofa," Mio added.

Seeing their behavior, Makoto's mother became certain of something. At first, it was only a hunch when she first saw Tomoe and Mio, but now she was sure they had a special relationship with Makoto.

After everyone sat down, Makoto introduced them one by one.

"Mom, nee-chan, let me introduce them. These are my followers: Tomoe, Mio, Shiki, Koyuki, and Hakuren," Makoto said.

"Nice to meet you, Okaa-sama, Ojou-sama," Tomoe and Mio said.

"Nice to meet you, Oku-sama, Ojou-sama," Shiki, Koyuki, and Hakuren said together.

"You don't need to be so formal. You can address me casually," Makoto's mother said.

"This is my mother, Misumi Kasumi, and my older sister, Misumi Yukiko," Makoto said.

"Hey, Makoto, why are they calling me Ojou-sama?" Yukiko asked, confused.

"Because they call me Waka-sama," Makoto replied casually.

"By the way, where are Dad and Mari-chan?" Makoto asked.

"Your father is out with his editor, and Mari is at school right now," his mother replied.

"Makoto, I've been curious. Koyuki and Hakuren's ears and tails—are they real?" Yukiko asked.

"Of course, nee-chan. They're from the nine-tailed white fox race. Since they're still young, they only have one tail," Makoto explained.

"Really!? Can I touch them?" Yukiko asked excitedly.

"You should ask Koyuki. Only people close to them are allowed to touch their ears or tails," Makoto said.

"Koyuki-chan, may I touch them?" Yukiko asked.

"Um… if Ojou-sama wants to, you may," Koyuki said shyly.

"Oh, they're so soft," Yukiko said as she stroked Koyuki's tail.

"Makoto, you look more mature and handsome now. I was shocked when I first saw you," his mother said.

"A lot has happened, Mom. I'll tell you everything once everyone's here," Makoto replied.

"By the way, Makoto, what's your relationship with Tomoe and Mio?" his mother asked.

"You could say that although they're my followers, they're also my lovers," Makoto said.

"Really! I knew it from the moment I saw them. I felt something was there," his mother said.

"What!? Makoto, you have lovers now!?" Yukiko exclaimed in shock, releasing Koyuki's tail and staring at Makoto.

"No need to be that surprised, nee-chan," Makoto said.

"But all this time you only cared about archery. I never even heard about you being close to a girl. And now suddenly you have two lovers—how could I not be surprised!?" Yukiko said.

"Actually, nee-chan, I have three lovers," Makoto said awkwardly.

"What!? Three!?" Yukiko shouted.

"That's wonderful, Makoto!" his mother said.

"Do you have a photo?" Yukiko asked.

"I don't have a photo, but I can project an image," Makoto replied.

"Then hurry up!" Yukiko said eagerly.

Makoto then projected Selena's image.

"This is Selena. She used to be a Highland Orc," Makoto said.

Upon hearing Selena's race, Makoto's mother was greatly shocked, but she said nothing.
