Chapter 35: Ronin vs. Uvogin
Three days felt like years to Uvogin.
Watching Ronin step onto the ring amidst the cheers, the aura Uvogin had been suppressing exploded uncontrollably. A violent killing intent slammed into Ronin.
Ronin remained unmoved, walking steadily to the center of the ring.
The two faced off.
"Newly promoted to the 200th floor, the Iron-Armed Gorilla who ended all previous matches with one punch! His first opponent is..."
"The Supernova who also stormed through the ranks with overwhelming power, the man known as the Red-Splendored Meteor! His name is..."
The atmosphere hit a fever pitch.
Fans in the front row waved Ronin's banners and cheered wildly.
"Ronin vs. Uvogin!"
"Finally!" Uvogin locked eyes with Ronin, his aura solidifying. "I'm going to tear you apart starting from your mouth! I'll make you watch as I rip off your limbs! Finally, I'll crush your head just like I crushed your father's!"
"Honestly, being chased by you is annoying. I don't need a perverted stalker fan like you," Ronin ignored the threat, stating his feelings.
But the phrase "perverted stalker fan" was enough to light Uvogin's fuse.
"Let's fight to the death!" Uvogin announced loudly.
"OK!" Ronin accepted happily.
Their brief exchange caused an uproar in the audience.
The host shouted, "Newcomer Uvogin has proposed a Death Match! And Supernova Ronin has accepted instantly!
"This match will be a fight to the death! Only one man leaves alive!"
Clearly, the host had been bought too.
The referee stepped forward. "All weapons allowed. Stake your honor and lives. Fight!"
The moment the referee finished, both Uvogin and Ronin shifted their aura into Ken!
Aura gathered rapidly at their fists. They vanished from their spots, and a sonic boom exploded in the center of the ring.
Identical Big Bang Impacts collided.
Bam! Bam! Bam! Explosions became the rhythm of the fight.
Uvogin unleashed pure Big Bang Impacts, each punch heavy and destructive. His wild aura flowed through his arms, gathering at his fists with terrifying speed to create devastating power.
Opposite him, Ronin moved at high speed, leaving trails of crimson light.
That crimson was the sign of his eyes entering the Intermediate State!
His eyes existed in a state between darkness and scarlet.
In this state, he could use two powers simultaneously.
One was the Nen ability copied by the Sharingan: Big Bang Impact. The other was the Chakra-fueled Cherry Blossom Impact.
Stacking both gave him the capital to clash head-on with Uvogin.
The sensation of flesh hitting flesh, the extreme observation of the enemy's Nen in high-speed combat, and the precise control of his own energy—Ronin was fully immersed in the confrontation.
The Intermediate State retained the Sharingan's dynamic vision.
Ronin could clearly see Uvogin's Ryu—the distribution of aura—allowing him to adjust his own defense accordingly.
Block, parry, strike. Every collision shook the arena.
Excited, Uvogin let out a roar of delight.
Ronin, however, felt the pressure. Stacking two energies allowed him to match Uvogin's power, but it meant his consumption was far higher than Uvogin's.
With a lower base capacity, this high consumption meant Uvogin would outlast him in a war of attrition!
After another clash, Ronin dodged. He feinted a hand seal.
This fake move caused Uvogin to freeze for a split second.
Seizing the moment, Ronin opened the distance. He tapped the pouch at his waist, and a swarm of shuriken flew out, enveloping Uvogin.
Simultaneously, Ronin's eyes flickered into the Sharingan state for an instant.
In that instant, he closed his eyes. When he opened them again, his aura had intensified, though his eyes were back to normal.
Only he knew what he did in that blink.
He formed a seal with one hand and activated the Eight Inner Gates.
The First Gate: The Gate of Opening!
Even after exiting the Sharingan state, he felt a limiter in his body unlock.
His control over his energy became fluid, as if he could mobilize 100% of his power at will.
Facing the shuriken, Uvogin didn't even dodge.
His iron body and thick Nen deflected the projectiles effortlessly.
But his pupils constricted. The Ronin in front of him vanished the moment he blocked the shuriken!
Uvogin's eyes darted left. He raised his left arm just as—Bam!—Ronin's kick connected solidly.
Ronin's speed increased, but his power didn't!
Uvogin grabbed at Ronin with his right hand.
But Ronin, having landed the hit, flashed away to a new position. He planted his hands on the ground and launched a vertical kick straight at Uvogin's chin.
Taijutsu: Shadow of the Dancing Leaf.
A move designed to stick to the opponent and launch them into the air—the setup for the Lotus.
Ronin's eyes re-entered the Intermediate State, adding a touch of Cherry Blossom power to the kick.
Not the pure Eight Gates, but effective.
The massive force launched the unguarded Uvogin into the sky.
Chance!
Bandages, pre-wrapped around Ronin's arms, unspooled as he chased Uvogin upward, binding the big man tight.
The next second, Ronin grabbed the bound Uvogin in mid-air and began to spin violently.
Rock Lee's signature move: Primary Lotus!
BOOM!
They piledrived into the arena floor, Uvogin head-first.
Amidst the rising dust, Ronin appeared at the edge of the crater. He was breathing heavily, arms trembling, small cuts on his body.
But his gaze was fixed on the center of the ring where the dust was settling.
