'What the hell is going on now?!'
I see Inv swiping at the air in front of him with his paws.
"Inv What's wrong?!"
"J-joey!!! Sumting apear en fron ef me an et won goa way!" Inv says this while frantically swinging his paws in front of him.
'Something appeared in his vision? Is this because of what I heard just now?'
Awaiting Response.
Hearing the robotic voice go off in my head I can only conclude this is the case. Did me just thinking about wanting to see Inv's food pips make this happen?
"Ge of me fac!!!"
Stopping my train of thought I hear Inv yell. Ok clearly whatever I did sent something to him, but what did it send?!
Before I can even try to start thinking about this, I see Inv start running around in circles and slowly approaching the led-
"INV! STOP!" I yell running up to Inv wrapping both of my arms around him. I don't have much luck fully wrapping my arms around him, but this seems to calm him down a little and stops him from running off the ledge down to his death.
"B-bu somting es en me ey Joey!!" Inv whimpers out while shaking. Seeing his skin slowly turn more purple I can only assume this means he's scared? if something unknown appeared in my vision and I couldn't interact with it I would start freaking out as well…
'Wouldn't want random things popping up in my vision as well'
Feeling Inv's shaking increase further I put my full attention on calming Inv down.
"Inv its ok! It's not going to hurt you or anything!" I say to Inv trying my best to sound as assuring as I can.
"E-et won?"
"No, nothing has happened yet, right?" I start slowly rubbing his back as I say this.
"N-nu…"
"Just calm down Inv… it's ok…" I say to him in a smooth (I hope its smooth) voice while I rub his back.
Gradually I feel Inv's shaking calm down and his skin slowly turns back to his normal blue.

"I-i cam noaw… bu wut es tis en me ey???"
"It's… uhhh…" I pause for a second thinking what to say next.
Actually, even I don't know what it is since I can't even see it. It must be related to me though since this only started happening when I heard that voice go off in my head…
'It said something like asking to see Invert's stats, right? Wait… is that Inv's actual name?'
"Hey Inv, do you have a full name?" I let my curiosity get the better of me and I ask him this question.
"Uhhhh ful nam? I onl knaw me nam es Inv…" Inv says back to me.
"Does Invert ring a bell?" Right after saying this Inv's eyes go wide with shock.

Inv stares back at me in silence with wide eyes. I start feeling slightly nervous due to his sudden serious demeanor after I said his actual name.
'Shit did I just say something I shouldn't of said? I didn't think saying it would make him react like this… what if he has some bad history with this name that I don't know about? I did just meet him…'
Feeling my nervousness heighten, I'm about to apologize to Inv until I feel his arms wrap around me.
"Tat… tat suhc a gud nam!!! Tank yu Joey!!!!" I feel relieved when I hear him say this. I guess it was just a misunderstanding…
"Uhhh sure Inv! I'm glad you like it!" I decide to go along with his misunderstanding and take credit for the name.
'Scared me there for a sec… thought he was about to hurt me.'
It still feels weird being able to talk to someone after so long. My first instinct when I thought I did something wrong was that he would attack me…
I need to get rid of that habit around Inv. So far, he seems pretty harmless towards me. But seeing how strong he is and his other… interesting features I suspect he could easily hurt me.
'See this is what happens when you live in a world where everything attacks and kills you on sight. You grow super fucking paranoid!'
'I've even had several lantern mice attack me before! They shouldn't even do that!'

Letting these thoughts go, I notice at this point that Inv has completely calmed down from his panicked state from earlier.
"You ok now Inv?" I pat Inv on the back as I say this. Since he still has his arms wrapped around me, I can't really go anywhere.
'I swear his arms are made out of steel. They don't feel like it, but I swear they must be as durable as it'
"Ye ye ye!!! I ok noaw! Bu i stil se te stuf en me ey…" Inv unwraps his arms around me and takes a small step back looking down at me. Seeing his smile return fills me with a bit of happiness seeing I was able to calm him down.
"Yeah, what you uh… see right now is sorta my fault…"
"Hoaw et yur falt???"
"Well, uhh…" I hesitate before continuing. Should I tell him about my ability? I mean since he's my partner now I don't really see any point in keeping it a secret. That would just be dumb.
"It's a part of my ability"
"Abiwity???" Inv sounds more confused by my simple answer.
"Yeah, like how you can spawn an egg bomb every cycle, that's your ability"
"Shpawn? Abiwity?? Cycl????" Inv ears perk down lower and lower looking absolutely confused to the words I just said.
'Does he seriously not know what any of these words mean?'
"Y'know like… how you wake up to a new egg bomb every cycle? That's your ability" I try to explain to Inv how his ability works in the simplest way I can.
"Bu wha yu meen by shpawn???"
"Well… doesn't the egg bomb just appear when you wake up? That's what I mean by spawn"
"Nu??? Et don do dat" Hearing Inv say this I'm a little surprised.
'It doesn't work like that for him? Wait… shit I forgot. I'm going off of the game version of Inv. of course it wouldn't be the exact same'
I feel a little dumb assuming I know how his ability works. Didn't I just tell myself that things could be different compared to what I know? I have to keep this in mind better in the future.
