A puff of smoke drifts into the air, curling and rising up into the room as it slowly fades into the air. The puff of smoke returns once more, then again and again. Each one fades just like the last. The smoke came from an old wooden pipe, its grooves etched with age as the tobacco smoldered against the cool air. It was a family heirloom, one that William enjoyed far more than any of what his brothers received even if it was not worth quite as much. It was like a mini fireplace, similar to the crackling fire that warmed his bed every night.
William stood from his chair, his long strides reaching his desk in only a few paces. It was there William picked up the letter addressed to him.
"To the Count William Woodland III,"
"It is with great pleasure that we have elected to request your return to the great Yggdrasil Academy. We have acknowledged your request for a new lecture hall within the newly expanded Midgard Building, and we have elected to grant your request. We expect your return to Yggdrasil within the next 3 weeks."
