The four knights.
The party sent to kill the queen of the forest.
Those personally chosen by the mad king.
Three of them..dead.
How could this be?
I thought to myself.
The campfire crackled.
The fourth one.
The one with the staff.
He sat there.
Still breathing , not speaking a word.
I pulled my dagger out, slowly as if to not make any noise.
And struck him.
I didn't have time to understand the "how". I just needed to finish him off.
And I did.
He didn't defend or dodge.
He just fell to the ground.
His body rotten from the inside spilled his internals everywhere in a liquid form.
I stood up.
I was a little disappointed.
I had gotten stronger, devised a strategy only to be met with a effortless victory.
It was a good thing. But not all good things bring satisfaction.
I pulled out my dagger from the rotten corpse and began to leave.
Or I thought.
I thought I was leaving.
"Oh you stupid little thing."
A voice echoed.
Hers.
The queen.
It disappeared just as fast as it came.
Leaving behind nothing but echoes.
"You know the queen. You can lead us to her."
Red.
Red.
Red.
That's all i could smell.
The intense desire to kill.
Hatred so dark it shined even in the darkness of this forest.
I turned to face him.
The man whom I thought I ended.
The wizard.
His form now beyond this plane.
A god.
*Slash*
My attack connected.
His heart hung on the edge of my blade.
It did , yet his heart beat inside his chest.
" Worthless acts of violence don't work on us.
We are the one chosen by the King."
I took a step back.
I had to understand what's going on.
He stood there, perfectly fine as if nothing had happened.
His form was radiant .
This was definitely a case of madness but it was more than just something simple like that.
It was .... intense.
As if it was affecting my soul not my body.
I leapt , mygrip tightening on my dagger.
His eyes.
Those were my goal.
He couldn't attack me when he can't see me.
*thump*
A strike to my side.
I fell onto the ground, my jaw broken .
He didn't move, yet I was hit.
My vision blurred as I got back up.
I looked closer at his form.
He wore a cloak.
But why?
Everything mattered in a fight, for someone who utilised magic and enchantments a simple cloth cloak seemed like a hindrance.
So why would he wear it?
I leapt.
I touched my eyes.
Imagining water.
Writing water.
And struck.
My dagger plunged into his left arm.
And then I saw it.
I saw it with my crystal clear vision.
A hand.
A third hand that came from his cloak.
*Slash*
I cut it off.
"Good. Good. You are good undead."
The man laughed "but using cheap enchantments won't be enough to kill me.
The living cannot hope to kill those who are already dead."
I spat blood.
I didn't even noticed it, he had moved next to me.
In a single blow I was once again on the ground.
*ugh!*
My guts were ruptured by his kick.
*slash*
I stopped his first with my dagger before finally getting back up.
He stood there. Smiling.
He didn't move an inch, yet I could feel him getting closer to me.
It was horror that radiated off of him.
Black.
Red.
The only things I could smell.
"You can't defeat us undead. Just give up and lead us to the Queen."
I didn't wish to respond.
I lowered my stance and got ready to attack him again, this time with speed.
I plunged my dagger into my feet.
The power of the enchantment travelled throughout my body.
This was the only alternative I had left.
My original plan was foiled but I could still use parts of it.
The enchantment travelled throughout me, quicker than it would have taken to enchant myself.
I launched off.
As quick as I can handle.
My first aimed for his whole body.
If I destroy everything, he won't regenerate.
He couldn't. Or so I hoped.
" Pathetic."
With that single word I was stopped.
He disappeared. He wasn't there anymore.
No he was here.
He was behind me.
My leg had been grabbed before I even knew.
"Aaaaghhhhhhh"
Torn off , like paper.
My leg was cleanly torn off .
I hung upside down as he pulled me up to face him.
His eyes gone.
Replaced with a giant endless void.
That void stared at me.
"Tell me where is she?"
I remained silent.
*PUNCH*
I struck with all my force, breaking every bone in my body.
"Tell me where is she?"
He stood , unfaulterated by my attack.
