The next morning ethan woke up early and went for a run, his body was feeling abit sluggish probably because he hadn't been exercising for these past few weeks.The cold morning wind hit his face as he ran at a medium speed clearing his chaotic mind
In the past He used to enjoy weekend morning runs with Dan, but not anymore, he wouldn't force himself to do, that even if he wanted to pretend that everything was fine.
He returned home when it was getting brighter outside.
He quickly took a shower and went down for breakfast, he sat down at the table serving himself before eating in silence, Everyone else was at the table already enjoying their meal in silence, so when he arrived and ate in silence no one thought it was strange. Mr kim spoke up a second later ''Did you go visit your aunt yesterday?" He asked while drinking his tea
But contrary to his calm behavior ethan almost choked on his food making him cough violently, Dan was the first time react handing him a glass of water, ethan took it and drank the water not paying attention to how close Dan had gotten, his uncle looked at him concerned ''You should be eating slowly make sure you chew your food properly next time'' but ethan didn't hear what he said and glanced at his uncle and finally spoke ''Did she mention anything?" He asked trying to sound confident ''No, she just asked me to drop you off at the hospital, said she has something to talk to you about'' Mr kim said while finishing up his breakfast and then added ''Get ready we leave in five'' and then stood up and headed to his room.
Only when he left did ethan relax, he didn't know what he would say and feel if Mr kim knew what he and his aunt had discussed.
''Hey, what's been keeping you busy lately'' leila asked him snapping him out of his thoughts, he calmed himself then replied to her trying his best to hide his disgust '' just school and other personal stuff ''
Dan looked at him intensely before looking away and muttering something to himself and continuing his meal. Ethan eventually finished his meal and stood up and went to his room leaving the two siblings alone.
Leila sighed and looked at her brother ''See I told you that there's something wrong with that brat!, he suddenly thinks his better than us in our own home? Hah! He lost everything and came crawling to…''
Ethan could still hear her loud voice and harsh words but chose to ignore them, he didn't care what other's thought about him anymore since they didn't benefit him at all.
The ride to the hospital was awkward to say the least, Mr kim kept talking about the company and ethan out right ignored him, he couldn't care less at this point because he knew Mr kim had already betrayed him. He was already stressed about his situation and couldn't care less about his uncle's yapping.
He entered the hospital room and found his aunt sleeping peacefully, he didn't want to wake her so he just sat quietly on the chair that was next to her bed side.
Some time passed and his aunt woke up she was surprised to find him him sleeping in an uncomfortable position on the chair, she tried to get up but ethan jolted awake ''Good morning aunt, Do you need anything?, have you had your breakfast yet?" He asked as he stood up and walked towards the other side of the bed helping her sit down ''No I haven't had breakfast yet, could you go get me something light maybe some porridge'' she replied and he nodded obediently and rushed out of the room. He returned after a short while with a tray and a bowl of porridge he set it aside and opened the lid of the bowl adding honey for some flavour then gave it to her, she accepted it and ate happily, the silence that was in the room wasn't awkward or deafening it was peaceful, comfortable and warm.
After having her breakfast the nurse came to give her her medicine which she took while exchanging pleasantries with the nurse. When the nurse finally left she looked at ethan and extended her hands to him, he took them as always letting her cup his cheeks.
''How are you doing dear?" She finally asked withdrawing her hands
''Okay as usual '' he answered with a smile. she looked at him for some seconds before adding ''Ive thought about your preposition and honestly it was a bit selfish of me to dismiss you like that...'' she said ''…I just felt like I failed you''
''Aunt you didn't fail me, I was just spewing Nonsense dont think about it again'' he reassured her but his aunt shoke her head
''No , I was being selfish for only considering my feelings… I want you to live a happy life, and I was worried about you feeling lonely, but now I know that I might just be holding you down''
Ethan felt guilty that he made his sick aunt stressed, he regretted ever telling her, he knew that she wouldn't agree but he still did did it and now what happened ''Aunt–" he tried to speak but his aunt cut him off ''So I thought about it and your right, you need to learn the ways of the world if you want to succed in the future, which i know you will. If I keep you on a tight leash you'll become too dependent on me which is not good'' ethan stared at her failing to follow, what was she talking about?
''So you can move out that's if you promise to come see us every month'' She finally said and smiled, ethan was taken aback not knowing how to react. His head was filled with thoughts and his emotions messy and scattered, his mouth opened but his words failed to come out. His aunt just laughed and closed his mouth for him
''Are you that surprised?" She said
Yes he was! He couldn't believe it his plan was progressing smoothly his heart raced, eyes stang but he bit his tongue to push back his tears, he felt relieved and grateful all at once but he had to collect himself he couldn't let all those emotions show so he lowered his head and calmed down before raising it and smiling to his aunt ''Yes I am, I thought you'd never agree!" He said while she just rolled her eyes and replied '' well I'm sure you would have just asked your uncle had i refused!'' ''No! The only permission I need is yours!" He said practically glowing and she just smiled and sighed.
Ethan went home after some time and locked himself in his room and began packing all his stuff into his suitcase. His uncle wasn't home which was perfect because he didn't want the man to follow him to his parents house. He already had everything he nedded that included the keys. He had kept all his parents belonging in their house and had kept the keys. So he didn't waste anytime because there was still so much to do once he arrived at his place that including buying food for the house. He took his things downstairs and sighed cause he could practically feel the eyes on him, any minute now and they would– ''what are you doing!" Leila shouted
