Chapter 1 - The Dreamscape(1)

In the world, someone somewhere right now is sleeping.

Or dozing off.

Or taking a short nap.

But in that time, they will be dreaming.

They say that when one dreams it could a vision, or a day dream, or a figment of their imagination or even worse a nightmare.

In that time, people have different ways of seeing themselves in them.

And it's one, in the first person view where you can only interact according to memory analysis or just watch and view.

Or two, in the third person view where one can see their whole body and actually do what they want or change how they look and this form of dreaming is called lucid dreaming.

Hmmm, ok but that's all comm9n knowledge well not in this world, no.

You see in this world, in the early 19th century people began seeing more than should have in their dreams especially children.

A random child should've had dreams about playing in the field, living their best life with their family or playing with their favourite toys or friends, right?

Well, in this case... things happened much more differently back then. For instance reports of children having the abilities to communicate with the animals in their dreams.

And this happened in wide range, so the first man, Dutch psychiatrist Frederik van Eeden got down to it and made an suprising discovery on lucid dreaming by 1913.

The news was soon spread and the people world wide soon began to grasp the reality of the situation... or so they thought.

The issue if lucid dreaming was now just a discovery but soon it spread to adults and for them... it was way worse.

The first case came from Ireland, where an industrial worker who had slept in the job the whole day had the most bizarre dream.

He immediately went to psychiatrist within the area and described his situation.

He described his dream to be more cartoon like than normal. He said that he was able to do more than just fly.

He was able to create while towns, roads, rivers, lakes, skies of any color he wanted, he could even create people, then whole families and even communities.

He then said that it felt like was a literal yet dare he say it a 'god' of his own world.

And he concluded that when his dream was ending he saw a shadowy figure standing in the distance and when he looked at it.

He wasn't scared or alarmed by it, he was actually... lost. But from what?

'Nothing', he said because he said when stared at the creature it looked almost humanoid though all his senses should've screamed at him to and see what was going on or what that thing was they didn't.

It's like his senses ducked away the moment his eyes landed upon the figure.

When he blinked again he saw that the figure had disappeared.

And the next thing he new was that his boss who took pity for him on overworking himself just sent him off with a warning.

This urged scientists and psychiatrists to look deeper into this though and soon after the number of these cases increased almost 100 fold in just 10 years all over the world.

And soon after the 2nd World War a new issue emerged but this one was a rather vague than potent problem.

This was a problem between the people who'd experienced these things in their dreams and another war occurred on that actually killed people.

But how?

And what was this war or event?

Well, my dear friends this event was dubbed the Lucid Dream War.

The name for this event might sound bland but the aftermath was brutal indeed.

Since it took the lives of over 100 million people and left another 50,000 mentally scared for life which led to an increased death rate of over 14,000 people who resorted to suicide to end their suffering.

In this world, what was once known as a happy place for the common folk soon became another host for survival of the fitest once again.
