Chapter 57 - Killing Shisui Uchiha

The instant the Perfect Susanoo detonated—

Shisui was blasted backward like a ragdoll.

He smashed through a fallen trunk dozens of meters away, then slammed into the ground, coughing blood in thick, choking bursts.

The shock force hadn't just thrown him.

It had pulped him from the inside.

"Impossible…"

"My Perfect Susanoo… shattered."

"And he's… even stronger than he was seven years ago, when he suppressed the Nine-Tails."

"No wonder he only ever showed taijutsu…"

"It wasn't his ceiling. It was his disguise."

Shisui lay there trembling, face waxy and pale.

Blood streamed from his Mangekyō, soaking his cheeks like tears—making his eyes look eerie, almost inhuman.

He couldn't accept it.

Perfect Susanoo was his limit.

And Ren blew it apart with a single punch.

There was nothing left to "fight" with.

"Shisui."

A gust snapped through the forest.

Ren flashed in and appeared right in front of him, looking down with cold, effortless dominance.

"You're weak."

"Warm-up's over."

"You can use genjutsu now."

Then Ren tilted his head, voice dripping with ridicule.

"Oh—and don't bother with ordinary illusions. They're useless."

"Use Kotoamatsukami."

"Rewrite me. Make me 'bathe in the Will of Fire.'"

"Let me experience how 'great' it is."

"You…!"

Shisui's face twisted.

Rage surged up—

and he spat another mouthful of blood.

Humiliation burned through him.

He had already forced out Perfect Susanoo—his absolute maximum—and Ren called it warm-up.

Enough.

If Ren wanted the "Will of Fire" so badly—

Shisui would cram it down his throat.

"Fine."

Shisui's voice shook, half fury, half desperation.

"You want to bathe in it?"

"I'll grant you that wish."

"Kotoamatsukami—!"

A strange, oppressive pulse of ocular power washed outward.

For a split second, phantom crows screamed inside Ren's mind—like something was forcing open his consciousness.

Ren's mouth lifted.

Amused.

"Time Reversal."

His right Mangekyō flared—

and the world snapped backward.

Not the forest.

Not the battlefield.

Shisui's action.

In Shisui's perception, it was as if the moment rewound by a heartbeat.

One blink ago, he had activated Kotoamatsukami.

Now—he hadn't.

Shisui froze, horror spreading across his face.

"How…?!"

"Is that… Izanagi?"

No.

It didn't fit.

Izanagi would burn an eye out.

But Ren's Sharingan didn't go blind.

Then Shisui's mind caught up, and his breath hitched.

"Wait…"

"Ren—your Mangekyō ability…"

"Is it time?"

Ren rubbed his right eye. For the first time, discomfort flashed across his face.

"Yeah."

He exhaled slowly, voice flat.

"And it comes with a nasty price."

Right now, his Time Reversal could only rewind a few seconds.

Still—

that was more than enough to ruin Kotoamatsukami.

Shisui tried to force his eyes again.

He was going to cast it—

even if it killed him.

But Ren moved first.

A blur.

A wet, sickening sound—

and Shisui screamed.

Pain swallowed everything.

Because Ren had torn out both of his Mangekyō Sharingan.

Darkness flooded Shisui's vision instantly.

He convulsed, choking on blood, shaking like a broken animal.

It was over.

His power was gone.

His life was gone.

And his last, bitter thought wasn't even for himself—

It was fear for Konoha.

If Ren had hidden this much… for this long…

What kind of disaster was he?

Ren stared at him for a moment, then sighed—almost tired.

"You still don't get it."

"To Konoha's leadership…"

"You were never a hero."

"You were a dog with sharper fangs."

Then Ren's Mangekyō pulsed again.

A heavy, crushing genjutsu poured into Shisui's mind—

and scenes flickered past like a merciless slideshow:

Shisui being ambushed.

One eye stolen by Danzō.

The Uchiha clan being slaughtered—Danzō, a masked man, and Itachi moving through the shadows.

Shisui's death—cold and quiet.

Konoha's leadership barely reacting at all.
