★Eight. Days Later★
Finally the day had arrived, Grandpa Ru's birthday also the day that Riven would introduce Roxanne to his family.
Riven stood in front of the mirror adjusting his black tie and his cofflins looking dashing as ever in his navy blue suit and matching pants,his hair combed backwards complimenting his outfit.
He glanced at the mirror one more time and exited his room heading downstairs but froze when he noticed Roxanne.
She was wearing a straight navy blue gown which outlined her curvy body,her hair was put in a half ponytail and held with a navy blue ribbon,her lips held a touch of red, simple blue diamond earrings earrings,a matching bracelet and the black heels adored with stones, in other words she looked like a proper lady, worthy of being by his side but she wasn't alone, sitting opposite her was Anastasia.
She was dressed in a strapless straight black gown hugging her body in the right places with a slit up to her thigh on the left side,her flowing down her shoulders,a lot of red on the lips, diamond earrings and black heels to match.
She was chatting with Roxanne on who knows what but he didn't care to know and marched towards them.
"What's going on here?"he asked making his presence known.
"Oh Riven baby, I'm just talking to this young lady before you arrived"Anastasia said then walked towards him and held his arm.
"Babe,is she your relative or something?"she asked taking a glance at Roxanne with a hint of jealousy at how good looking she was.
Roxanne stared at the two of them Riven mostly but just stood up and walked out of the house into the car arranged for them.
Riven and Anastasia joined in soon after with her joining Roxanne at the back and Riven sitting in the front passenger seat.
The drive to the venue was quiet, Roxanne fiddled with her fingers, Anastasia scrolled through her phone while Riven was working as usual.
They soon arrived and everyone stopped what they were doing to look at them in awe.
Riven came down of the car adjusting his suit and began walking inside not bothering to open the door for the two ladies at the back seat.
Anastasia scoffed and came out of the car with a slight frown.
"Riven wait for me babe"she said going after him causing some gasps and mumurs around them.
"Did she just call Riven Sy Babe?"
"Oh my gosh, they're dating?"
"They make a cute couple"
Riven ignored all comments and continued walking while Anastasia couldn't help but smile proudly.
Roxanne sighed after calming herself down and came out of the car taking a look at the venue,it was massive.
"Wow"she muttered fascinated and walked in flashing a smile at everyone who looked at her.
"Who's this beauty?"
"Is she a distant relative?"
"She's wearing the same color of clothing as CEO Riven Sy"
"Maybe she's seeking attention"
Roxanne heard all comments and ignored all but it still bothered her a bit.
She got into the building and it was a sight to behold.
Lights everywhere,soft music playing and a big banner with the words...
'HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA RU'
"Wow, Grandpa Ru must be really loved by his family"she muttered with a smile.
The interior decor was beautiful and the snacks were to die for.
She took a glass of juice from a waitor and drank slowly still admiring the interior design of the place when something caught her attention.
It was an old man getting down from the stairs unknown to her that he isn't just any old man but Grandpa Ruben.
She walked towards him and offered her assistance and he agreed but then he looked at her intently as if recognizing her and she did to.
"It's u"he said
"Oh you remember me,hello Mr Ruben"Roxanne said in a cheerful voice and a smile on her face.
"How are you dearie?"the old man asked with a smile on his face.
"I'm good and you?"
"As u can see, I'm fit as a fiddle"he replied standing with pride and she giggled.
"So what brings you here?"he asked
"Well, I'm attending the party with someone, today is a big deal for him"she replied
"Oh so it's a he,is he your boyfriend?"
"Grandpa stop teasing me, he's not my boyfriend"she's replied and he chuckled.
"Too bad, I wanted to introduce you to my grandson, he's a piece of work, maybe u can finally melt him but it's never too late,if he breaks your heart u can come to me and old Grandpa will teach him a lesson"Grandpa Ru said with confidence.
"You're so funny, I promise I'll tell you, maybe you'll see each other, he's here anyway"she said holding his arm.
"Alright, I'll see him later"Grandpa Ru said
"Alright, I'll see you around then, they're about to bring the celebrant on stage"she said and made her way to a table filled with snacks.
Grandpa Ru stared at her with a small smile on his lips.
"You would have been the perfect granddaughter-in-law" he muttered staring at her.
His butler soon came to his side and whispered.
"Master it's time"
Grandfather Ruben hummed and followed him to the stage but as he climbed up,a waiter spilled water on Roxanne by accident.
"Oh, I'm so sorry madam, I didn't mean it"he said scared and even kneeled down.
"That's enough,it was an accident and that's all that matters, don't worry yourself just point me towards the restroom"she said calmly with a smile which left the servant confused as most of the ladies here would have made a scene by now.
"Yes madam, sorry madam,the restroom is down by the left"he said.
"Thank you"she replied and made way to the direction while the waiter stared in disbelief.
"If only half the ladies were as nice as her"...
