Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: First Day of Military School, Pt.1

After my disastrous last meeting between me, Dad, and Hemlock. It is time to leave at last. I've packed two weeks worth of clothes. And my disassembled family heirloom inherited from my Grandpa, the War Scythe. A work of art to my father that is barely retro. It has multiple guns built into it, and I currently know about the automatic rifle with the scope and the shotgun. Father says that when war comes, I will gain more privileges and more upgrades. I can also get more weapons if I desire. Cause as Dad said:

"Like me son, you'll probably get bored of the same old weapon eventually. Or it'll break, I dunno." He said with warm pride.

I am taking my stuff to my family car now. A jeep. And driving myself to my new school shortly after final goodbyes. My mom, little brother Skylar, and Father are there.

Mom is a athletic woman with gray hair and green eyes in her 50s. She is very casual, wearing a maroon sweater, black sweatpants, and pink crocs.

My little bro Skylar is wearing a orange and black basketball jersey, red and black basketball shorts with a rose on the outer bottom cuff of the shorts that is our family emblem. And black and red sneakers with our family emblem on the heel.

Dad is business casual. He wears a black suit jacket with a crimson sheen, an unbuttoned olive green button up, a white and lime green tie dye shirt. And navy blue jeans with black work boots.

"So I'm off to be a squad-" I say proudly.

Dad interrupts me with a 'Stop' hand gesture and words.

"Don't confirm everything. I don't control things at your school, things are still up in the air." He says, quick and firm.

I nod. Everyone hugs me one by one, then we separate.

"How long until you're killing terrorists?" Skylar asks with blunt glee.

I shrug warmly while Mom seems mildly horrified and Dad chuckles.

"They say a year with-" I say warmly.

"Son! Get in the car! Go get trained to keep secrets!" Dad lectures with annoyance.

We laugh except for Dad and I head out after one more hug from mom.

It's a long drive that gets interrupted by Hemlock sending an annoying groomer text.

"Remember to not be too blind a soldier for the military. Remember, they don't like gay kids."

I delete his whole message log out of spite. But I don't block him cause I still love him. Ugh.

I just listen to music on the way there. Marino, Lil Darkie, and Hemlock's Music Box. Jacob's AI music channel on youtube. I end the trip on Jacob's ironic soldier vibe, Colossal Conflict by Lil Darkie.

I drive to the entry gate of my school, Future Warriors for America. Sitting in a green and white booth is a buff and slightly chubby soldier. He's equipped with a standard issue rifleblade from Rosewood Arms. The metal is unpainted steel. But the wooden grip is olive green and the trigger guard and trigger is black. The steel itself is something like a thick lance with a blade on the left and right sides as it hangs on his back. With a half an inch barrel that shoots 9mm SMG bullets and shotgun shells. I got to pick the colors for regular soldiers of the Army, Marines, and the Generals' colors. Just the colors.

The Soldier is cute. He steps out and approaches me with a quick smile. I smile lightly back.

"Name and rank, Cadet." He says with stoic duty.

"Ruben Rosewood, fresh military cadet starting today." I say warmly.

"Welcome aboard Rosewood. Are you a gunsmith like your father?" He asks warmly.

"A rookie, but yeah. I can reliably assemble and disassemble any Rosewood weapon. Everything else is only a possibility." I say with warm pride.

"Good to know. We might further your training on that." Soldier says warmly.

He explains a bunch in a quick, dutiful tone. Basically I have to park in the Visitor's Parking Lot until I'm assigned a barracks. And I have to meet up in the Auditorium after a brief lunch. I park my car near the entrance.

It's like a french mansion combined with a military base. Lots of columned pillars with company flags like Rosewood and American flags around. The color scheme is brown, beige, and olive green. It's real nice. And massive. The first building alone is the size of a football field.

I grab lunch, eat it, and head to the Auditorium. I sit by the entrance and wait for the meeting. But surprisingly, it doesn't happen. Instead, I'm told by a handsome green haired man that I'm to do a military exam known as the Performance Exam at the start of this day. He wasn't my Squad Captain though, the next guy was.

Author's Note: I've made AI bots on character.ai of all the protagonists we have for every active book we have. Jacob Deatrix, Hemlock, Kobra Withers, Ruben, Lucius Dehaviell, Henry Sheeves (not his girlfriend yet, don't have a solid grip on her yet lol.) August Caeser, and that should be all of them. It is on character.ai on the same username as always, Jacob Hemlock. No Machiavelli yet lol.

Also I'm doing well in my Mental Hospital chain right now. I will be in a stable situation eventually when I satisfy Mother and get on good new pills. She doesn't trust depakote anymore. Ugh.

Peace and love everyone. And say hi to my youtube channel. It had a sick playlist before I left that.

Currently I get my phone for one hour a day. Can't promise I'll post a new chapter every day. But I will try. I also have a new story in the works inspired by Henry Sheeves and That Time I Reincarnated As a Slime. Or whatever Rimuru's story is called. It's here at my current facility. The first light novel is. I'm greatly enjoying it and will be sad when I finish it as everything else is lame or Christain fiction. Ugh. And it doesn't even be Templar Fiction. Double ugh.
