Chapter 2 - Main Story: Chapter 1 (Prologue 2)

** Theo **

I looked around the cozy shop, taking it all in. It was definitely worth all the sweat and blood poured into it, literally.

The amount of band-aid's they'd had to use because Reyna kept cutting herself was insane. But I love her anyway.

I mean! She's so cute!! With her dyed pink, fluffy hair, the way her green eyes glistened in the light, her pouty little face anytime she was annoyed, the way she held herself and dresses cutely. Heck, even with how clumsy she is, it makes her impossibly more adorable.

Of course though, I have to hide that fact. For multiple reasons...

It aggravates me a whole lot, especially every time I look at her lips and think how much I want to kiss them, hold her soft face in my hands while we embrace. We are both practically adults, so you'd think my parents would allow me to date.

But no...

They were already on edge when I said I wanted to open up a bakery with Reyna. It was so bad, they didn't even donate a penny to try and help us.

And you'd think having millionaire parents would mean they help you out with your dreams...

I sighed, and ran a hand through my hair, a nervous habit. It didn't help that Reyna chose that moment to walk inside the kitchen area.

"Hey, is everything alright?" She asked.

"Yea, of course it is." I said, though we both know that answer sounded uneasy.

"Don't worry, okay? I'm a bit nervous too. But it's way too late to back out now!" She grinned earnestly. She stepped closer and took my hand into hers. I had to work hard as to not blush.

"We'll get through this together, like we always do, okay?" she rubbed her thumbs on my wrists, knowing it helped calm me down and reassure me. Man, she knows me really well, just like how she knew I was nervous earlier.

"Yea, you're right. Together." I smiled, my confidence back. "Let's do this!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~
It's been about an hour since we opened up, Theo was in the kitchen, preparing food for some Pokemon as I was taking the orders for the owners.
It seemed like we were an immediate success! People began pouring in minutes after we opened and marveled at how the place looked. It was nice seeing the smiles and interest in people's eyes as they took it all in, the new establishment on the block.
At the moment, I was taking the order of a more elderly trainer. She was nice, always complimenting how the place looked and had a sweet personality to her. Her companion Pokemon, Skitty, was roaming around near the elderly lady, looking very happy at seeing other Pokemon like herself, new potential playmates. A Teddiursa walked over, engaging in a conversation (Pokemon can talk to each other, right?) with the Skitty.
I smiled as I watched them encounter, that was another great aspect of this cafe. Trainers and Pokemon alike can talk and meet new people here. A great environment for making new friends.
"So you want 2 Pichu chocolate frosted cookies for yourself, and a mixed bowl of Poke Puffs and berries for your Skitty? Is that all ma'am?" I inquired.
"Yes, that's all deary, thank you." the old lady said, hobbling away with her Skitty and its newfound friend, Teddiursa at her heels.
I sighed happily, wiping the sweat off my brow from being behind the counter and serving so many customers. I took a quick break from the counter and entered the back kitchen. 'There were a lot of customers so Theo and I might need to get some hired help.' I wondered, taking a sip of water from my filled water bottle.
Speaking of Theo...where could he be? I just realized he's not in the kitchen anymore...
