Chapter 7 - [7] : Please, Don't Cry

Arthur turned his head and made eye contact with his uncle Su Wuyan.

Instantly, both saw the laughter in each other's eyes, forcefully suppressing the corners of their mouths, trying hard to hold back their laughter.

"Ahem." Afraid he wouldn't be able to hold back his laughter if he stayed any longer, Su Wuyan hurriedly pulled Arthur toward the exit.

"Old Chen, I just remembered I still need to help Arthur handle his school enrollment procedures. We'll be going now."

Every year after awakening day came enrollment season. All 6-year-old children would begin attending school to receive education.

This was a regulation of the Sun-Moon Federation—every child had to receive nine years of compulsory education. Three years of elementary academy, six years of intermediate academy.

Of course, these nine years of education were free, part of the Federation's welfare policy.

After that, if they wanted to advance to a higher academy, they could only rely on themselves—either through excellent grades or spending big money.

If they couldn't manage either, they could only attend vocational school.

Today's martial soul awakening was complete. Next came preparing to enroll in elementary academy.

According to Su Wuyan.

He would handle the Spirit Master instruction, and forging would be left to Mu Chen. Having Arthur attend school was mainly to expose him to basic education beyond Spirit Master knowledge.

Moreover, more interaction with peers would benefit this child's mental and physical health.

And so, Su Wuyan pulled Arthur along to handle enrollment procedures for East Sea Elementary Academy.

However, on the road, they encountered a very eye-catching little girl.

The girl had rare silver short hair that shimmered brilliantly under the sunlight, dazzling to behold.

She was just squatting by the roadside, her dirty face and tattered clothes making her look as pitiful as a little beggar.

Suddenly, as if sensing something, the little girl abruptly looked up. Her clear purple eyes looked toward Arthur, meeting his gaze.

Something's wrong.

Arthur shuddered, a trace of chill flashing through his heart, but this feeling came and went quickly.

In that instant, his intuition had issued a warning, yet somehow stopped again.

Unable to figure it out, Arthur silently retreated behind Su Wuyan.

"Little girl, where are your mom and dad?" Right on cue, several thuggish-looking youths approached the little girl.

After getting a clear look at the little girl's appearance, greed gradually filled their eyes.

"How rare, this silver hair, and those eyes are beautiful too, tsk tsk."

One of the youths squatted down, his tone frivolous. "Little girl, where's your family?"

The little girl shook her head slightly without speaking.

The youth immediately pushed his luck, saying with a grin, "You must be hungry, right? Big brother will take you to eat something good, and after you're full, I'll help you find your family, how about that?"

This time the little girl shook her head even more forcefully.

The youth pretended not to see and directly reached out his hand. The other few people surrounded the little girl.

"A bunch of beasts." Arthur couldn't watch anymore. Suppressing the doubt in his heart, he suddenly rushed forward.

Su Wuyan didn't move, silently watching. After all, they were just a few small-time thugs without even soul power—he couldn't very well have a Super Douluo step in.

Rushing into the group, blocking in front of the little girl, Arthur started cursing directly, "You idiots, your daddy's here!"

"Just a little brat, and you want to play hero saving the beauty?" One of the youths, after seeing Arthur's appearance that was no less beautiful than the little girl's, looked delighted. Today's luck was so good—buy one get one free.

Isn't this guy a brother?

This disgusting expression made Arthur furious, and he directly started with a zero-frame attack.

Although in his past and present life combined he hadn't really fought much.

But he had stats!

A simple and unadorned elbow strike hit the youth's chest, immediately sending him flying like a kite with a broken string, accompanied by the sound of cracking bones as he collapsed to the ground.

The terrifying scene made the other few decisively turn and run.

"Hmph, think you can escape?"

A green soul ring rose up, and a howling gale appeared, pulling them back and squeezing them together.

Arthur went forward and gave each one an elbow strike, knocking them all down.

After resolving everything, he looked at the little girl.

"It's okay now. Do you have any family?"

The little girl didn't speak, only kept shaking her head.

"So you don't have any then." Arthur showed a cheerful smile. "Don't be afraid, I don't have any either."

"You brat!" Su Wuyan nearby couldn't take it anymore and walked over to knock him on the head.

After thinking for a moment, Su Wuyan decided to see how Arthur would handle this matter.

"You brat, what do you plan to do next?"

"What else can I do, call the police. Wait for the administrative officer to come handle it."

"Hey, I thought you'd help to the end and take her home to care for her, such a cute little girl."

"Then how would I be any different from these beasts?" Arthur said irritably. "Besides, when you encounter a homeless little girl, what kind of good person's first reaction is to abduct her home? Of course you call the police first!"

Su Wuyan fell silent. This way of handling it was fine.

"Na'er." The voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz.

"Who's talking?" Arthur dug at his ear.

The little girl's small hand grabbed the corner of Arthur's clothes. She seemed somewhat shy, her small face flushing red as she lowered her head, saying softly, "My name is Na'er. I'm willing to go home with you."

Su Wuyan: "Hm?"

Arthur: "Huh?"

"I saved your life, how can you still want to cling to me?"

The little girl froze, her large purple eyes gradually becoming covered with a layer of mist, looking like she was about to cry.

Su Wuyan: This child is beyond saving.

Raising his hand, Arthur impatiently wanted to pull away Na'er's hand gripping his clothes, but suddenly stopped.

Huh?

Na'er?

That sounds so familiar.

Na'er!

A chill went straight up his spine to the top of his head. Arthur carefully examined the little girl again.

Silver hair, check.

Wandering the streets, check.

The name matched too.

This is bad.

So that instant of intuition earlier was about this!

Just let her hold on like that. Arthur relented and lowered his raised hand.

Can't blame him for being scared—this was the Silver Dragon King!

Inside the seemingly harmless little girl in front of him was the Silver Dragon King, invincible in this era!

How did she end up in East Sea City? Shouldn't she be in Skysea City?

And then get entangled by some thugs trying to abduct her, followed by Tang Wulin's heroic rescue.

Wait, this sequence of events seems so familiar.

Damn it, isn't that exactly what I just did!

Arthur was greatly alarmed. He seemed to have been manipulated.

Swallowing, due to psychological pressure, Arthur observed Na'er's eyes again and discovered that her eyes seemed to hide a giant dragon within them.

"Don't, don't cry." Arthur's voice was choppy. "I'm begging you."

Hearing this, Na'er vigorously sniffled, holding back her tears. Big brother wanted her not to cry, so she wouldn't cry.

"Right, just like that."

Just wait like this for the administrative officer to come. He'd pass the karmic connection to the administrative officer. Na'er's family definitely couldn't be found—unless he could find Di Tian. At that time, he'd still have them send Na'er to an orphanage.

On the street, the boy stood frozen and motionless. The girl obediently held the corner of his clothes, causing passersby to frequently stop and look back.

Su Wuyan had long since disappeared. He had taken the few thugs away, preparing to secretly eliminate them.
