Chapter 7 - A Stranger In An Alleyway

***Two Days Ago***

The thing about making bad decisions was the fact that at that very moment, you do not think about the consequences.

Not until it finally hits.

"Come on, man," Ethan said, slinging an arm around Noah's shoulders. His cheeks were already flushed, a telltale sign that he had consumed a few too many glasses of alcohol.

If the empty bottles, by his side, were not a clear giveaway.

"You're telling me you're gonna graduate without ever actually getting drunk?"

"I didn't say that," Noah replied, though he was already smiling despite himself. "I just said I don't see the appeal of poisoning yourself on purpose."

"Sounds boring, but I guess that's most of your life anyway, " Ethan shot back before chuckling and raising his glass. "Tonight, we fix that."

Noah hesitated, staring at the amber liquid in front of him. He wasn't a heavy drinker.... No, it was more accurate to say he wasn't a drinker at all.

In fact, he usually avoided alcohol altogether, mostly because he was raised as a good kid.

But it was late, classes were lighter these days, and this was supposed to be a celebration of sorts, after all, their final year was almost done and adulthood was right around the corner.

He could afford to be irresponsible just this once, besides, one drink couldn't hurt...right?

That was how it always started.

One turned into two.

Two turned into several.

With a grin on his face, Ethan passed him glass after glass until he was sure Noah was just as wasted as he was..

The moment they stumbled out of the bar, the night air hit Noah like a brick wall.

"Oof," he muttered, blinking as the world wobbled before him. "Okay… yeah. Maybe that was a bit much."

Ethan laughed, patting him on the back, "don't worry, you'll wake up tomorrow with a lot more regret than now."

They parted ways soon after, Ethan insisting he was fine, that he lived "just around the corner," before wandering off in the opposite direction with a lazy wave.

Fun fact, his house was at least miles away from the bar... Hell, the bar was a lot closer to Noah's than his home.

Noah watched him go for a moment, then turned and started walking.

He didn't really know where he was going.

His phone buzzed in his pocket, but the screen was too bright and the letters swimming when he pulled it out.

So, with a groan, he shoved it back and decided it'd be easier to just walk it off.

That was when he turned into the alley.

At first, he didn't realize as his feet simply carried him off the main road and away from the city lights.

His mind only caught up when he was fully enveloped by the darkness.

"Great choice," Noah muttered to himself, swaying slightly as he leaned a hand against the brick wall. "Real five-star route home."

He pushed off the wall and took another step before nearly tripping over something on the ground.

"Whoa—!" He stumbled, barely managing to keep his balance before looking down.

"What the—"

Someone was lying there.

At first, Noah thought it was a pile of discarded clothes or trash bags, but then he saw the pale hand move.

His vision slowly cleared and he noticed what or rather, who was laying there.

It was a girl with head full of white hair, but the drunk Noah immediately noticed that her clothes were in shreds, looking almost as if they had been burnt.

"A-are you okay?" Noah asked, his words slurring slightly as he crouched down despite every instinct telling him he probably shouldn't.

The girl didn't reply.

She was awkwardly leaned on the wall, and now that he was closer, he could see exactly how beautiful she was, especially with the was the moon's light currently focused on her.

But he could also see how dire her situation actually was, making him momentarily forget about her appearance.

She had cuts riddling her entire body, which snapped Noah out of his drunken state as he started panicking.

He didn't know first aid or anything.... Though, he highly doubted any first aid knowledge would do much in a situation like this.

"I—I can call an ambulance," Noah said quickly, fumbling for his pocket where he had placed his phone earlier. "Or—uh—a relative of yours?"

The last part was stupid, but he suggested it because she might be some criminal on the run and didn't want to get herself in the hands of the cops.

Still, there was no response.

Her breathing was shallow now, almost imperceptible, and that only made him panic even more.

"Hey," he tried again, softer this time, "you're not dead, are you?"

He wasn't sure his consciousness would ever rest peacefully if she died in his arm....or rather, on the wall in an alleyway.

As if in response to his words, the girl slowly moved her head. She let out a small moan of pain as her eyes opened.

"Are you—" Noah started, only for his words to die in his throat when her eyes were fully revealed.

They were bright red...no, rather than bright, it was more accurate to say that her eyes were glowing ominously.

Before his brain could fully register her glowing eyes, Noah felt her grabbing his shirt and pulled him with strength that definitely didn't match her frame.

"Wha—" was the only thing he managed to let out, before pain exploded along his neck.

Noah's back slammed into the brick wall, the impact knocking the air from his lungs in a sharp gasp.

Something warm and sharp pressed against his skin, followed by a sudden, piercing sensation that made his vision white out for a split second.

"G—!" His voice broke off into a strangled sound.

His hands came up on instinct, fingers clutching uselessly at her shoulders, but whatever strength she had far outweighed his.

The worse part was?

He could life the life being drained out of him and the pain got worse as the seconds passed.

"stop," he let out weakly, completely drained of his strength.

But the girl had no intention to.

Infact, it seems the moment she tasted his blood, she got even more enthusiastic and was draining him dry without a care in the world.

She let out a pleased moan as she clung tighter to him, determined to drain every bit of this delicious blood.

Noah's situation was the complete opposite as the life was fading faster and the edges of his vision got darker.

The last thing he saw was the bright moon, it looked a lot bigger or rather, closer... or so he thought, before everything faded to black.

***

Far from where Antoinette was draining Noah of blood, atop a sky scraper, stood a man in black formal suit.

He stood calmly as the wind blew through his white hair.

There was a small grin on his lips as he seemed to look directly at Noah's current predicament.

"Today's his actual eighteenth birthday isn't it?" The man said with a smile as he looked at the watch on his wrist, "it should activate any time soon."

The air behind him seemed to tear open, like some kind of fabric.

From within the tear, a woman walked out.

Beautiful didn't even seem to start to describe her, after all, her looks were out of this earth.

Literally.

She had black hair, one as dark as the night amd violet eyes. Her skin was also tanned, but her most 'prominent' feature were her breasts.

The woman's bust was remarkably generous, as it seemed that the buttons on her formal coat were struggling to keep it caged.

Even her walk seemed seductive, which was as a result of her race.

She walked tothe man's side, looked into the distance, though she still couldn't see what he could.

"What are you planning this time?" The woman asked and the man turned to her with a smile.

"Chaos my dear Lilith," He answered with a smile, "one that will shake the entire world."
