Although their current gear wasn't four full sets, three sets plus a half-modded K437 were enough to kick some ass.
Because Classified Dam was still new and not many people had played it, Standard Dam was currently filled with three-and-a-half modded sets, with full four-set loadouts appearing occasionally.
After all, it had been several hours since the second beta test opened, and aside from those who were keen on going in with nothing but a knife, most other players had accumulated a good amount of HAF.
Of course, high-tier armor and modified guns could only guarantee a player's baseline. The upper limit still required actual skill to support it.
For Jake and Marcus, fighting a four-set with a two-set was not impossible.
"There are people in the medical room on the first floor — at least two. Not sure if there's a third," Jake whispered to Marcus.
Although this game didn't have proximity voice chat, Marcus, seeing Jake's tone, instinctively became cautious.
"Okay, I'm coming. You crouch-walk first and see if you can sneak one," he replied in a low voice.
The medical room on the first floor referred to the West Building Medical Room — the Blue Card room.
Jake and Marcus had already bought both Blue Card room keys for Zero Dam, as they could be opened 20 times in Standard Dam and weren't expensive.
The Substation Dormitory key was 35,000, and the West Building Medical Room key was 110,000. Just a few small blues or purples would make their money back.
"Thump thump thump."
The footsteps gradually grew closer, sounding like they were in the server room and now moving towards the medical room.
Thinking of this, Jake pressed his left lean key and made eye contact with two people.
The two opponents were clearly stunned for a moment, but he had prior information and immediately opened fire.
The K437's damage to both flesh and armor was not low — it only took a few tenths of a second to take someone down.
[Operator · Maverick — Downed!]
Only one was downed. The other only had shattered armor and had already retreated into the adjacent room.
But that was enough.
Both his D-Wolf and Marcus's Vyron were extremely suppressive operators. In corridors or behind cover, enemies would be forced out by hand cannons or C4 — let alone in a relatively narrow room.
"Bang bang bang—"
Three consecutive hand cannon shots pierced through the glass into the room, and by then, Marcus had already arrived, firing a Stun Launcher directly.
A hit notification appeared in the middle of the screen, followed by Vyron's knockdown voice line.
"Enemy unbalanced!"
What followed was without any suspense. The opponent had already lost half their health from the hand cannon and was now knocked down by Vyron, with no possibility of breaking free.

[Team Wiped!]
Jake and Marcus looked at the boxes. Since it was early in the game, these two hadn't found much — only a few dozen blue bullets worth picking up.
After looting the boxes, Jake casually opened the nearby West Building Medical Room.

[West Building Medical Room (19/20)]
"Anything good?" Marcus asked casually.
"There's an Oximeter (Gold), which sells for 56,000, plus two small blues. That's 70,000."
A whole West Building Medical Room key only sold for 110,000, and opening it once returned 70,000. These Blue Card rooms almost never lost money.
"Nice," Marcus praised. "Good luck."
"Should we go check the East Building next?" he continued. "The West Building seems clear."
Jake thought for a moment and said, "Let's go directly to the Wall Breaker Operation."
"The containers in the East Building should all be looted by now. If we go directly, we won't know the enemy's position, which makes it difficult to fight."
Marcus hummed in agreement.
With that, the two headed straight for the Wall Breaker Operation mission location.
Soon, the mission was accepted.
"Operation started. Prepare to clear the garrison and control the anti-air facilities."
The voice after accepting the mission was the same as the one after pulling the lever — the Commander who says "Engage, search, get it done, then withdraw" at the start of the game.
Jake walked to the computer indicated by the mission. Controlling the anti-air facilities was actually about deciphering this computer. After all, Delta Force wouldn't really create another exclusive mission item.
"Successfully infiltrated anti-air facilities. Connected to the anti-air network."
"Missile launch sequence initiated. It's time for them to reap what they sow!"
The two instinctively looked up as a missile launched with a "boom," directly hitting the Dam gate in the distance.
"Missile launched successfully. The Dam's gate has been destroyed."
"Boom!"
Another missile was launched. This time, the gate on the other side was blown up.
"Use the drill to break open the vault door!"
New mission guidance appeared, and the two jumped off the missile launch platform straight to the location that had just been blown open.
A minute or two later.
The vault door blocked Jake's path. As for where Marcus was?
The two had just heard "use the drill to break open" and thought they needed to use the green quality drill, so Jake went to guard the vault while Marcus ran off to find the drill.
"Drill activated. Faction guards are attacking. You must hold your ground!"
"Marcus, it seems we don't need that thing."
"I can interact directly here. It should just be part of the mission flow — it can open without that green drill."
Hearing Jake's words, Marcus was stunned. "Huh?"
"I just found it. I wasted my time for nothing."
He closed the tool cabinet's search interface and returned to Jake's side. At this point, the drill's progress bar was already in its last few seconds.
"The door is open. Pry open as many safes as you can. Hurry!"
The moment the vault door was drilled open, a red progress bar appeared at the top of the screen, accompanied by a powerful BGM.
The red progress bar was the mission time — not worth worrying about.
But this BGM... "The intro is already so passionate. Crane Interactive truly lives up to its name as a music company," Jake quipped.
Crane Interactive was now jokingly referred to as a music company by many players due to the Delta Force promotional video soundtrack and the built-in music of Desert Bus.
Although these songs were made by Horizon Interactive, Horizon Interactive was a studio under Crane Interactive.
"No way," Marcus walked into the vault, somewhat surprised. "There are gold bars on the ground!"
"Huh?" Jake walked next to him and looked at the gold bars on the ground. "Holy shit — there really are."
These gold bars weren't decorative items — they were actual lootable gold bars, the red item worth three hundred thousand!
Jake didn't pick up this gold bar, as Marcus had seen it first.
He ran to the other three spots with items on the ground and, although there were no gold bars, there was a Pirate Gold Coin (Gold), worth sixty thousand HAF.
"This Wall Breaker Operation is insane!"
"We haven't even opened the safes yet, and we start with a gold bar and a gold coin."
