Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 -- Yunmo Heritage

Jiangnan Base City, Mingyue Community.

When Luo Feng's King-level intelligent fighter jet descended onto the lawn, the entire neighborhood froze.

Children who had been playing stopped mid-step. Teenagers exercising stared blankly. Even the martial artists who were cultivating at home instinctively looked up, disbelief written across their faces.

After all, they had personally attended Luo Feng's memorial service.

To see the dead return alive—some even felt a chill crawl up their spine. Luo Feng, however, looked calm and natural, even greeting a few familiar martial artists as he stepped out of the fighter jet.

Today, Mingyue Community was destined to be anything but quiet.

In the Luo family's courtyard, his parents, Luo Hua, and Zhen Nan were already waiting. The moment Luo Feng appeared, all restraint collapsed. Relief, joy, disbelief, and suppressed fear poured out at once.

After the reunion calmed down, Luo Feng finally asked about what had happened at home during his disappearance.

The more he listened, the colder his heart became.

Although Bai Yue had been guarding the family and prevented any direct attacks—avoiding the tragic escalation seen in the original timeline—Li Yao and his faction had still not stayed idle. Through bribed neighbors and planted rumors, they had continuously subjected Luo Feng's family to psychological pressure and veiled intimidation.

They had not crossed the line.

But they had danced right at the edge of it.

As the conversation continued, Bai Yue arrived. The sound of the fighter jet landing earlier had already informed him that Luo Feng was back.

"I knew you wouldn't die," Bai Yue said with a grin, stepping forward and pulling Luo Feng into a firm embrace.

"Thank you, Lao Bai." Luo Feng's voice was steady, but the gratitude in it was impossible to hide.

Bai Yue laughed lightly. "Between us, no need for words. I've already collected evidence of Li Yao's little tricks. I'll send it to you. It won't be enough to convict him, but it'll give you clarity."

He paused, his tone turning colder.

"In the end, this kind of thing is still settled by strength."

"Leave the rest to me," Luo Feng replied without hesitation. His eyes were calm, but beneath that calm burned unmistakable resolve. "You've done enough."

He understood perfectly. This time, he survived. Bai Yue protected his family.

What about next time?

That was not a gamble he was willing to take.

After handing everything over, Bai Yue did not interfere further. He trusted Luo Feng to handle the matter properly—and decisively.

As for himself, his life quickly returned to its rhythm of cultivation.

By now, Bai Yue had long since broken through to the Astral Rank, and was already at the third stage. His focus was no longer on simple accumulation of power, but on tempering will and refining his Domain.

He understood this better than anyone.

In the path of cultivation, law comprehension determined one's ceiling.

And will determined whether one could even stand at that height.

For Bai Yue, will was more than a mental attribute—it was the foundation that resonated with his Dao Fruit. In the broader universe, willpower was a force that truly revealed its terror only at the True God (Supreme Lord) level and above.

The enlightenment atop the snowy mountains a year ago had transformed him. After breaking through to the Astral Rank, that transformation deepened further.

Only then did he truly imprint his will upon the core of the Dao Fruit.

Only then could it be said that the Dao Fruit had genuinely acknowledged him as its master.

With that recognition came deeper authority.

Beyond the passive trait of eternal proof and the previously awakened creation, Bai Yue now gained further capabilities: analysis of all things, projection across the heavens, and the ability to entrust his consciousness to the Dao Fruit Space, allowing rebirth should his physical body perish.

Omniscience, omnipotence, eternity, indestructibility—these were not boasts, but theoretical extremes of the Dao Fruit's authority.

Naturally, Bai Yue himself was far from reaching them.

At his current Astral Rank third stage, fully analyzing a third-order Origin Force weapon would nearly exhaust his mental will. A fifth-order weapon would require hundreds of times that effort. Creation followed similar limits—what could be made in hours at lower tiers would take months at higher ones.

The Dao Fruit was a boundless reservoir.

But the vessel drawing from it was still Bai Yue himself.

Strength remained the prerequisite for everything.

As for projection into all heavens, it was even more perilous. Without coordinates, every projection was a gamble. One misstep could cast his consciousness into chaos, void, or endless time, where it would be ground away instantly.

Thus, he only ever sent out the faintest wisp—testing fate itself.

Australia Continent, Mist Island.

Since the discovery of vast numbers of plant spirits, the island had become a focal point of attention. Major nations and forces stationed personnel here, combing every inch.

Days earlier, the emergence of a new Beast Emperor ignited global fervor. Even Hong had personally taken action—yet gained nothing.

That alone spoke volumes.

With a thunderous crash, the Tentacle Beast Emperor was hurled onto the barren ground, its massive body collapsing lifelessly. Hong stood calmly nearby, the kill already concluded.

"Brother Hong, you actually killed it," Thunder God said with a crooked grin.

Hong merely nodded.

"Tch. No humility at all," Thunder God muttered.

"There's definitely something buried deeper," Bai Yue said casually.

Of course, he knew exactly what lay beneath—but there was no need to say it aloud.

This trip, he had only come to confirm the situation and obtain a Mu Ya Crystal for study. A small personal grievance still lingered—Babata's past disregard had not gone unnoticed.

Underground, Bai Yue moved swiftly through layers of earth. His Earth Domain, amplified fivefold, made the depths feel as natural as water to a fish.

Soon, he sensed it.

A white crystal pulsing with vitality.

His mental power wrapped around it instantly.

"Mu Ya Crystal… truly extraordinary."

With a flick of his wrist, he stored it directly into the Dao Fruit Space. Since fully mastering the Dao Fruit, he could freely store objects within it—an almost infinite reservoir, superior to any spatial ring.

Activating analysis, the crystal's structure unraveled instantly. The mental cost was negligible, replenished almost immediately through creation.

Then, switching authority—

Another Mu Ya Crystal formed in the space within seconds.

Bai Yue's lips curved slightly.

"With this… money will never be an issue again."

Some treasures were not powerful because of energy density, but because of rarity and function.

Continuing downward, Bai Yue reached a depth of nearly 50,000 meters. The outline of the Yunmo Starship loomed nearby—silent, ancient.

Still, there was no summons.

Standing before the deep passage, Bai Yue halted.

He did not advance recklessly.

Babata was an intelligent lifeform. The Yunmo Starship's weapon systems were fully functional. If he were judged an intruder, even Bai Yue would not enjoy the consequences—even with rebirth as a fallback.

"Not yet," he murmured.

Some doors were meant to be opened at the right time.
