Chapter 20 - Raiden's Heartache

Flashback to 10 minutes ago.

"All the Terra Beasts have rioted!!! And leading the pack is....a Woolie!!"

Hearing the flushed attendant words

Raiden felt a sudden rush of dizziness as he fell down on the floor.

"Mr Raiden!!! Are you okay, Mr Raiden?!!! Someone, bring me some water!!"

Maple immediately crouched by his side, barking orders while shaking him and trying to wake him up as all attendants crowded around him, chattering amongst themselves.

A few seconds later, Raiden woke up once again, trying to sit back while he spoke with a worried voice.

"I am fine. Completely fine. More importantly, tell me about that riot!! Or specifically the Woolie!!"

The same attendant who came running hesitated for a while before she remembered why she was here again.

"Miss Maple, it's a big emergency!! Almost all the other beasts have rioted. They are all quickly making their way towards The Golden Bisons. If we don't stop them, it's going to be very damaging for us!!"

Maple felt worried too. Most beasts that were kept here were mostly peaceful, never fighting too much. She had no clue as to what had incited this.

But Raiden's focus was on something else.

"Forgot about that! You said there is a Woolie leading the pack? Are you sure??" He pressed her.

The attendant nodded like a baby chick.

"It's true. We don't know how an innocent little one got mixed in with them. But it seemed he was with the Beast pack. And it seemed like..." The girl hesitated to speak, herself feeling uncertain of what she saw was right or not.

But Raiden was having none of it. He needed answers!!

"Seemed like what?! Please tell me clearly!!"

"It seemed like... The Woolie was leading the pack. And all the leaders of other Terra Beast tribes seemed to fear him, walking a step behind him." The girl spoke with uncertainty in her voice.

Hearing her words, Raiden felt distressed. He was completely sure now. It was definitely his Woolie.

'That Battle Junkie!!' After cursing in his mind, he turned towards Maple before blowing down.

"I'm really sorry, Miss Maple!! My Woolie has caused such a commotion!! I'll do my best to help you stop him!!"

"It's okay, Mr Raiden. I'm sure it's not your fault. It can't possibly be your Terran. I'm sure the girl got it wrong. Come, let's check out the situation first." Maple waved her hand, clearly not believing the girl.

A Woolie leading the whole army? What a fuckin' joke. Woolies, in general, were known as peaceful farm animals. They had no combat capabilities. Not to mention a week-old baby one.

Others didn't know about Raiden's circumstances; how could she not know? No matter how godly he has, it was impossible even for him to raise one this fast.

Raiden knew she didn't believe him, but it was pointless to explain for now. It was more important to reach him first.

Just as Raiden was thinking about that, Maple's body started shining Golden, a big beast came out of her body with an earthshaking roar.

Before he realised it, Raiden found himself facing a behemoth.

Around 10 meters long, a green dragon materialised in front of him, giving off such a strong pressure that it seemed to suffocate Raiden.

It stared at Raiden intensely with his bloody ruby coloured irises, making his hair stand on end.

"Little Greeny, don't stare so rudely, he is a guest." Maple appeared at the right time, rubbing the dragon's head, who really seemed to like her and started rubbing his head against her, making her chuckle in delight.

'You call that LITTLE Greeny?? Are you alright in the head?' Raiden thought speechlessly as he watched the interaction between the two. He did not know that Maple was a Golden Battle Master. He started thinking about his past interactions with her and whether he was ever rude to her at any time.

She could easily vaporise him if she wanted.

"Alright, Mr Raiden, since time is of the essence here, please get on Little Greeny; he will take us towards the beasts at top speed."

Hearing Maple words, Little Greeny once again started staring at Raiden, as if daring him to climb aboard, as if he didn't fear death.

Raiden felt scared. He had no idea why he was a bad guy in this dragon eyes. Like she didn't notice the interaction between Raiden and her little Terran, Maple grabbed hold of one of the scales of her dragon before adeptly climbing aboard, clearly familiar with the actions, having done this many times before.

"Hurry up, Mr Raiden. The more time we waste, the more damage can happen to Terra Beasts and your Woolie."

This snapped Raiden back to his Woolie. Gritting his teeth, he also clumsily climbed aboard, holding onto his dear life on it. He felt worried about Woolie. In this past week, he had grown quite fond of the little one; maybe it was due to him being cute or their bond, he didn't know.

But one thing was sure, that he needed to go and find him ASAP.

With a single gesture from Maple, Little Greeny roared before flapping its powerful wings, creating a major gust of air, which scared Raiden to hold onto it for dear life.

"Hold on tightly now, Mr Raiden." Feeling amused, Maple kindly reminded him.

Before Raiden could ask what she meant, Little Greeny shot forward.

Bang!!

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!"

It started travelling so fast that Raiden was scared shitless. He quickly closed his eyes in fear while screaming in fear and grabbed onto the dragon's body for dear life.

A minute later, the feeling of vertigo stopped as he felt a tap on his shoulder.

"Ahem... Mr Raiden, please stop screaming. We have already arrived."

Hearing the words, Raiden opened his one eye to find himself flying on top of hundreds of beasts, as they quickly moved forward.

It seemed like a battle was going on in the distance as they drew closer to the place.

Clearing his throat, he tried to sit a little more straight, trying to calm his beating heart.

As they rapidly drew closer, Raiden felt increasingly worried. The battle sounds were growing more and more louder. Suddenly, Raiden saw a massive bolt of violet coloured lightning shoot up in the sky.

This seemed to confirm his fears true. As far as he knew, only his Woolie had this unique coloured lightning.

As soon as they finally reached the place where battle was happening. He saw a massive earth spike travelling in Woolie directions, who was covered in lightning, and running at super speeds.

Within a second, the wall of earth collided sharply with the little sheep, burying him within.

"Woolie, NO!!!" Raiden seemed to have forgotten everything after seeing it, as he directly jumped down from the airborne dragon.

Thud!

Ignoring the pain in his legs, he quickly started running towards the site, the only thing on his mind being Woolie.

'To all the gods above and below, please let him be okay.'

Before he could get very far, he felt a faint resonance within himself. It seemed like something was calling out from within, demanding some sort of power from him.

Without hesitation, he started channelling all the power he had into it, making it grow.

Then, the miracle happened.

With a roar that seemed like it came from Primal Times, Woolie burst out from within the rubble.

Clad in thunder, his roar seemed to reach deep within his soul as he ran towards his big foe, destroying everything in his path.

BANG!!!

He collided directly with the big Bison, generating a shockwave that blew everything away at impact.

When the dust finally settled, he found that the Bison was blown away, leaving Woolie standing alone in the crater, still clad in lightning, looking glorious.

After a second, the lightning faded away from him. Woolie started wobbling on the spot, with blood flowing from its body.

Raiden felt a rush of weakness in his body after the fight was over.

Ignoring it, he rushed forward in the crater, as he picked up his partner, cradling it in his arms.

"You did it, buddy!! You won!! Take a rest for now. I am here"

He spoke as gently as possible.

It seemed like Woolie also felt safe in his arms, as he uttered 'Woo~' before falling asleep in his arms, as the world faded away from the little one's vision.
