After saying what I've said to both Elle and Hazel, they were speechless. Is what I just said shocking? "You only came up with that yourself?" Elle asked. Oh, she definitely knew me! I shook my head in response. "The Holy Spirit made me realize it." I answered while looking straight in Elle's eyes.
"So does that mean…?" Hazel asked but did not finish her question. "Is the end of the question coming?" I asked while looking at Hazel. "Wait," Hazel replied. "She's still trying to comprehend it." Elle said while now looking at Hazel. We just watched her form her thoughts.
"Nope. I lost it." Hazel said as she looked at me. "Good afternoon class!" Greet our professor as soon as she enters the classroom. And our class began.
Today in this class, group 1 is discussing their topic in front of the whole class while our professor interrupts them from time to time to ask questions related to their topic or to even add trivial information about the said topic.
Hazel then elbowed me to get my attention. "Do you plan to tell us about the 'man' that you've met?" Hazel asked. I side eyed her. "Elle! Elle!" Hazel called Elle in whispers. "What?" Elle asked while looking at Hazel. "She's about to tell us!" Hazel answered in a whisper. "What's his name?" Elle asked.
"You two won't stop bothering me, won't you?" I asked while looking at them both. "Nope." Hazel. "Nuh-uh." Elle answered while shaking her head. "Fine." I said as I made my upper body face them. Hazel squeaked in excitement while Elle giggled.
I sighed. "His name is Mark, in his late 20s, and if you know who the owner of the company Barley Inc., he is the secretary." I continued. "Barley Inc.?" Elle asked, I nodded in response. "Isn't that where your mother works?" Hazel asked Elle. "Yeah," Elle answered while looking at Hazel then looked back at me, "So you're telling me that the man that you like is the secretary of the CEO of Barley Inc.?" Elle asked again. "Yeah. Also met the CEO himself and his wife. They're newlyweds." I answered with a straight face. "What!?" Elle said loudly, making the reporters pause and our professor looked at us with the whole class.
"What's the problem Miss Elle?" Asked our professor while looking at Elle. "I just can't believe the topic. It's new to me and a new lesson learned." Elle answered. She definitely knew what to answer. "If you say so. Please continue with the report." Said our professor and the class continued. Hazel and I laughed.
"Is that the wedding that you and your group attended?!" Elle asked in a whisper. I nodded, "Turns out, the bride is Jude and James' cousin and she invited the whole group and we attended the wedding last Sunday." I answered. Still with a straight face. "So that's why each employee far from the headquarters received wedding souvenirs yesterday!" Elle said in a whisper.
"Did you receive a wedding souvenir?" Hazel asked while looking at me. I did not answer right away, instead, I took something from my bag. "Definitely not a wedding souvenir." Hazel said as she took the business card when I gave it to her. "Let me see." Elle said as she also looked at the business card. "You're kidding!" Elle said then she looked at me.
I shook my head in response. "Your wedding souvenir is the secretary!" Hazel said in a whisper. And my cheeks felt warm again.
