Chapter 9 - Agreement with Ichinose Honami

Ryunosuke came to class to attend lessons as usual, and soon lunchtime break arrived.

Honami came to the classroom door casually, poking her head inside to look for Ryunosuke's whereabouts. Upon seeing him, she immediately waved her hand in greeting.

"Akasaka-kun!"

Instantly, all of Class D's occupants shifted their gaze toward them. Ryunosuke reflexively covered his face with his hand.

(Oh my god! You really came looking for me so casually? Do you have any common sense?!) He screamed inwardly.

Reluctantly, he stood up and immediately pulled Honami's hand who was still standing innocently frozen there, then hurriedly fled from that place.

"Eh?" Honami made a cute confused sound, but Ryunosuke didn't have time to listen to her! What mattered now was to escape immediately.

He could already predict how they would talk about him after he left. But it was okay, he only cared about getting points. Just let them talk as they pleased.

Sure enough, shortly after he left, Class D immediately became chaotic. Especially the "Idiot Trio": Sudo Ken, Ike Kanji, and Yamauchi Haruki.

Because Ayanokouji had already gotten male friends, he didn't hang out with that trio like in the original story. However, this one friend of his, since the first day going to the student council, rarely responded to him anymore. This made Ayanokouji who actually wanted to make friends feel quite troubled, even had thought about just finding new friends.

Sudo, Ike, and Yamauchi witnessed with their own eyes how Ryunosuke pulled an incredibly beautiful girl and just left so openly. The three of them gritted their teeth in envy, especially Yamauchi who exclaimed in disagreement.

"He's clearly not more handsome than me, how can he get a girl that beautiful?!"

"I won't accept this!!!!"

The entire class could only be silent... Even the flat-faced Ayanokouji couldn't help but mutter inwardly.

(Although Akasaka can't be said to be very handsome, at least he's far better than you. How can you have the courage to say you're more handsome than him...)

Initially classmates were still whispering curiously about how Ryunosuke could be connected with a female student from another class. However, because of Yamauchi's actions, their attention was diverted to him and they showed disgusted expressions.

Indirectly, Yamauchi helped Ryunosuke dampen that gossip.

Suzune just furrowed her brows without saying anything.

What did it have to do with her? As long as it didn't disturb her studies, she wasn't the type of person who liked to gossip behind other people's backs.

She stood up, looked at her friends, then muttered the word "Boring" before going to the cafeteria for lunch.

Her words instantly triggered the anger of other students.

"Horikita is so pretentious, isn't she? Who does she think she is?!" Karuizawa Kei grumbled.

The gyaru gang around her also showed dislike, except one person who didn't join in condemning Suzune.

This girl actually wasn't a real gyaru; she just pretended to look compatible with her group and not be ostracized.

That person was Matsushita Chiaki. She played with her phone, but her gaze kept focusing on Ryunosuke's departure with a look full of curiosity.

"Interesting... Akasaka Ryunosuke, huh? It seems he's worth paying attention to..."

On the other side, Ryunosuke was with Ichinose Honami, Kanzaki Ryuji, and even Hoshinomiya Chie was present.

Ryunosuke stared at her with a strange look. As if understanding the meaning of that gaze, Honami immediately explained.

"Well, this is my classmate, his name is Kanzaki Ryuji. He seems uneasy letting me make a transaction alone with you, so he came along." Honami scratched the back of her head embarrassedly.

Ryuji greeted and introduced himself. "Hello, I'm Kanzaki Ryuji. Ichinose in our class is too naive, I'm uneasy letting her be alone with a strange man, so I came along. You don't mind, right?"

Although phrased as a question, it was actually a statement of dominance. A warning so that Ryunosuke wouldn't have bad intentions toward Honami, like taking advantage of her.

But honestly, Ryunosuke didn't have intentions in that direction yet. His main focus now was only money. As long as he could make money, he would do anything.

After greeting Ryuji, Ryunosuke observed the young man carefully. Kanzaki Ryuji was one of Class B's core figures, had the best academic and physical abilities in his class, spoke calmly and behaved very friendly. He often acted together with Honami. This young man's level was quite high and had a chance to enter Class A; maybe someday they could cooperate.

Ryunosuke noted that name in his heart, then turned toward Chie who came to interfere.

"Then, what are you doing here yourself?"

Chie raised her small hand cutely. "Hi hi! Sensei just came to see the excitement. Besides, I'm also uneasy leaving Honami-chan alone."

After speaking, she immediately clung affectionately to Honami.

Both had quite large "assets" that looked compressed and changed shape. This made the two men beside them, Ryunosuke and Ryuji, reflexively turn their faces away, but occasionally still stole glances. After all, they were men, they were very honest with their instincts.

Honami who felt embarrassed immediately pushed her teacher away. "Sensei, don't be like this, it's embarrassing."

"Hehe, Honami-chan is shy. But you're right, now important matters should take priority."

Chie instantly became serious, in stark contrast to her earlier attitude.

"Ryunosuke-chan, as Class 1-B's homeroom teacher, I have the right to supervise your transaction. Besides... you need a witness, and I'm the most appropriate person."

Chie said proudly while taking out a duplicate contract draft from her small bag.

Ryunosuke felt a bit helpless. "Do you teachers always carry contracts everywhere? Can pull them out anytime and anywhere."

Although complaining, he still accepted the contract and read it carefully to prevent any fraud. After all, this was about money. Even though this was relatively honest Japan, he still had to be cautious. His experience being deceived by "devil" contracts in his previous life traumatized him.

Seeing how careful Ryunosuke was, Chie pouted her lips. "What the heck? Are you afraid Sensei will cheat in the contract? Sensei won't do such things."

Ryunosuke adjusted his imaginary glasses position. "Sorry, Chabashira-sensei, checking contracts is mandatory to be cautious. Please understand."

After confirming there were no problems, he returned the draft. "So, can we start the transaction?"

The three people in front of him sat up straight and nodded. Chie explained the contract details.

"Simply put, Akasaka Ryunosuke provides information, and Class B buys it for 1,000,000 points. To prove the truth of that information, on the 1st of next month—that is, when points are distributed—if the information is proven true, then 1,000,000 personal points will be transferred to Akasaka Ryunosuke. Does Akasaka-kun object?"

Ryunosuke shook his head. That was reasonable; it was impossible for people to want to pay before the truth of the information was proven.

"Good!" Chie weighed the document in her hand and gave a pen to Honami and Ryunosuke. "Please sign. After signing, the contract officially takes effect."

Both signed their names and pressed their thumbprints. Chie checked again, then gave one copy to each party. Ryunosuke and Honami stored the contract in their bags safely.

Now, Ryunosuke began explaining the information worth 1 million points.

"The survival system at this school is based on competition between classes. I'll keep it brief, I won't beat around the bush."

"Class A is the best, followed by B, C, and D. Class D is the worst."

Honami hurriedly interrupted that explanation with a surprised expression. "You say Class D is the worst? But you yourself are from Class D, and you found problems we didn't realize..."

Ryunosuke looked slightly annoyed at her interruption. "Ichinose-san, please don't interrupt when I'm speaking, thank you."

"Oh... sorry..." Honami immediately felt a bit deflated after being reprimanded.

Chie immediately chimed in to calm things down. "Honami-chan, Ryunosuke-chan is different. He's a student who entered the student council in just two days. At this school, he's the first person who could do that, so he's an exception that can't be measured by ordinary logic."

Chie tried to explain while also giving a signal that Ryunosuke wasn't an ordinary person, hoping Honami could establish a good relationship with him rather than become enemies.

As the future leader of Class B, Honami wasn't stupid; she immediately understood the teacher's implied meaning, stopped interrupting, and listened patiently.

Ryunosuke nodded satisfactorily and continued his explanation. Honami even took out a small notebook to record every important point.

He explained almost all important information: competitive relationships between classes, first month evaluation content related to discipline, and the fact that monthly points weren't a fixed 100,000 but rather results from class competition evaluation.

In the first month all classes were given 1,000 class points (equivalent to 100,000 personal points per student). Once the first month ended, new evaluation would be conducted. If they wanted to surpass other classes, they had to create distance at this first month's starting line. If they failed to create distance in the first month, it would be very difficult to catch up later.

After hearing that explanation, Honami placed her hand on her lips while thinking hard.

"There's a competitive relationship between classes... the simplest way to win is to behave very well in the first month, if possible no points deducted. Now it's only the fifth day and we already know the information, it's not impossible to surpass Class A."

Ryuji nodded in agreement. "Ichinose is right, this month is the best opportunity. Maybe we really can do it..."

Ryunosuke immediately crushed their enthusiasm. On one hand he admired Class B which was far more solid than his class, but on the other hand he had to give a harsh warning.

"You're underestimating Class A. They're not that easy to deal with. If my guess is correct, there's someone in their class who has already realized this competition system. Just look at how they study orderly and collect phones before lessons start since the second day; that's a sign they already know this school's secret."

Everyone was shocked, especially Honami who raised her hand to ask again.

"Akasaka-kun, how can you know things like that?"

Ryunosuke didn't answer, instead staring at her as if looking at a stupid person. Honami tilted her head cutely because she didn't understand.

Ryuji immediately explained, "Ichinose, he must have his own way to get that information. Even if you ask, he won't tell you."

Ryunosuke of course had his own source of information: the spy he placed in Class A, Kamuro Masumi. All information about Class A's condition he got through phone communication with that person.

It had to be acknowledged, Class A was indeed impressive. In the original story they only lost 60 points, a very difficult distance to chase. Class B in the original story only had about 650 points left. Even with this early information, maybe they still couldn't catch up. Because in the early days before knowing this secret, they must have already lost some points.

Even if Class B knew earlier, being able to survive at 900 would be very good. Surpassing Class A was almost impossible... unless he intervened.

Instantly, a crazy idea flashed in Ryunosuke's mind. He covered his face with one hand while laughing inwardly with joy.

(Right! I can use this to make another transaction with Class B and rake in points in large amounts again! I'm truly a genius!)

Honami who saw Ryunosuke laughing crazily like the Uchiha clan while covering his face felt worried. She whispered to Chie.

"U-uh, Ryunosuke-chan... he's okay right? Why is he laughing alone like that?"

Chie also looked confused. Does this child have a problem in his head?
