Chapter 16: A Will Amidst the Darkness

After the passing of Diari's mother, a heavy darkness settled over the house. Rina could not bear to leave Diari alone with those haunting memories. One day, as Diari sat in his mother's room in silence, Rina watched him from afar, her heart aching for him. She approached him, took his hand, and looked into his eyes.

"Kaka Diari, look at me. You are not alone anymore. From now on, you will live with me and my mother. Our home is your home. We will be one family, alright, my soul?"

Diari replied, "Rina, I don't want to sell my mother's house; I want these memories to stay with me. But I cannot live here anymore—every corner of this house feels like a dagger in my heart. I will live with you."

Rina was relieved. "That is wonderful news." They agreed that Diari would move in with them, leaving his mother's house as a locked museum of memories.

The Will and the Bitter Truths

As Diari began gathering his mother's belongings, he suddenly found her old chest. Inside was the Quran she used to read every day. Looking at it brought back a flood of memories. Suddenly, he noticed a letter hidden within the pages—a will. It was a confession regarding the mysterious photo of Rina's father.

With trembling hands, Diari opened it. The letter read: "To my son Diari... by the time you read this, I will no longer be with you. I must reveal a secret. Tell Rina: the photo she has is not just an ordinary picture. Rina's father was an angel, just like his daughter. But later, he was turned into a monster. Rina's mother begged me not to tell, but my conscience would not let me rest. Life changed him through injustice. Liva's mother—that witch who envied the happiness of Rina's mother—destroyed everything. She used her dark magic to turn Rina's father from a gentle angel into a merciless monster, forcing him to flee his family and become someone else. That photo was taken on the day Liva's mother tried to destroy everything. I hid this truth to protect you both, but now it is time for you and Rina to find the truth."

Diari clutched the letter to his chest. "So, Rina's father isn't a monster... he is a victim of injustice." He felt a heavy burden on his shoulders, but he knew he had to fulfill this mission.

Rina: A Candle in Action

Rina refused to let Diari drown in grief. She began to fulfill her promise through her actions. Every morning, she woke up before him, prepared his clothes, and said, "Today is the day the truth comes to light." Rina decided to use her savings for a journey to find the location in the photo and to pull Diari out of his darkness.

She truly became a candle. One night, when Diari had a terrible nightmare, Rina stayed by his side, reciting the Quran for him. Diari felt a deep peace listening to her voice. When she finished, he said, "Rina, how beautiful the religion of Islam is. May God bless your life." Rina had brightened Diari's world, refusing to let darkness seize him again.

The Stranger and the Start of the Journey

As their journey began, they reached the mountainous area shown in the photo. Suddenly, Diari whispered, "Rina, I feel like someone is watching us." They spotted a tall, masked man. Diari chased after him but could not catch him. The man threw a piece of paper toward Diari. On it was written: "Go back, or you too will return to God, just like Diari's mother."

Diari's eyes filled with fire. "I know it's Liva's mother, that witch."

Rina gasped, "What? Kaka Diari, what are you talking about?"

Diari replied, "I will explain everything later, but I swear... I won't let anyone blow out my candle."
