Chapter 16 - Spirit Hall Academy

"Not bad," Bibi Dong praised. "Your cooperation is excellent. The power of this Martial Soul Fusion Skill should be quite significant."

Hu Liena deactivated the Martial Soul Fusion, and Ling Feng reappeared by her side.

"Teacher, aren't we amazing?" Hu Liena asked, blinking her eyes.

Bibi Dong gently stroked Hu Liena's hair.

"You are indeed very impressive, but you still need more practice. The coordination of a Martial Soul Fusion Skill requires time to be perfected."

"Yes, Teacher!" the two responded simultaneously.

Bibi Dong glanced at the sky and then said to Hu Liena,

"Nana, take Little Feng to see the academy. He just arrived at Spirit Hall and isn't familiar with this place yet."

Hu Liena immediately became excited.

"Okay, Teacher! Junior Brother, I'll take you on a tour of Spirit Hall Academy!"

Ling Feng nodded and bowed to Bibi Dong.

"Then we shall take our leave, Teacher."

Watching the backs of her two Disciples as they left, the smile on Bibi Dong's face gradually faded.

She stood on the steps of the Supreme Pontiff Palace, watching Hu Liena lead Ling Feng away by the hand, a strange sense of irritation welling up in her heart.

"Why do I feel this way?" Bibi Dong frowned slightly.

She was the Supreme Pontiff of Spirit Hall; she shouldn't be troubled by such trivial matters.

But seeing Hu Liena holding Ling Feng's hand so intimately, an indescribable emotion surged within her.

"Is it because of what happened last night?" Bibi Dong lightly touched her chest, where Ling Feng's warmth seemed to linger.

Bibi Dong shook her head and turned to walk into the Supreme Pontiff Palace.

She had many official duties to handle and shouldn't be affected by these emotions.

However, that feeling of irritation refused to dissipate.

Spirit Hall Academy was located on the eastern side of the Supreme Pontiff Palace, a grand complex of buildings.

Hu Liena held Ling Feng's hand, enthusiastically introducing the buildings along the way.

"Junior Brother, this is Spirit Hall Academy!"

Hu Liena pointed toward the main gate.

"The most outstanding GeniusSpirit Masters of the entire continent are gathered here!"

Ling Feng looked at the magnificent academy gate, feeling a sense of awe in his heart.

Spirit Hall Academy was a place where talent was absolute, and as long as one's family background was clean, one could enter.

"Senior Sister, do you attend classes here?"

Hu Liena nodded, her tone confident,

"Yes, but as Teacher's Disciple, I have a lot of freedom regarding classes."

"Besides, my talent is considered among the best in the academy, so I have even greater privileges."

As she spoke, a hint of pride showed on her face; as the Supreme Pontiff's Disciple and the most talented member of Spirit Hall's Golden Generation, she naturally felt proud.

Geniuses always have privileges; it was the same everywhere.

As the two walked through the academy gate, they immediately attracted the attention of many students.

Hu Liena was very well-known at Spirit Hall Academy, not only because she was the Supreme Pontiff's Disciple but also because of her outstanding talent and beauty.

And although Ling Feng was young, being by Hu Liena's side sparked the curiosity of many people.

"Who is that kid next to Senior SisterNana?"

"He looks so small; he probably hasn't reached the age for enrollment yet, right?"

"Could he be Senior SisterNana's younger brother?"

Various whispers reached their ears. Hu Liena was in a good mood hearing them, while Ling Feng felt somewhat helpless.

"Junior Brother, don't mind what those people say," Hu Liena comforted. "Once you show your strength, they won't talk like that anymore."

Ling Feng smiled and said casually, "I don't mind."

As they were talking, a gruff voice suddenly came from ahead.

"Nana, why did you bring a kid with you?"

Ling Feng looked up and saw a burly youth walking toward them.

The boy looked about fifteen or sixteen years old, with fiery red hair and a somewhat rugged face.

It was Yan.

Beside Yan was a silver-haired youth with a cold temperament; it was Xie Yue.

Although the two were only about two years older than Hu Liena, they appeared much more physically developed.

However, after obtaining her third spirit ring, Hu Liena's figure had also become taller and much more mature.

After a Spirit Master obtains a spirit ring, their physical development accelerates and then stops at an appropriate level of spirit power.

This was also why many Spirit Masters with low spirit power on Douluo Continent started families very early.

At this moment, Xie Yue's gaze shifted from Hu Liena to Ling Feng, and he asked curiously,

"Nana, who is this?"

Hearing Yan's words, Hu Liena immediately became displeased.

"This is my Junior Brother! You'd better be polite!"

Her protective stance warmed Ling Feng's heart. His Senior Sister really treated him well.

Then Hu Liena turned back to Xie Yue, her tone softening considerably.

"Brother, Little Feng is my Junior Brother, and he is also ElderYue Guan's Disciple."

Xie Yue's face showed a look of surprise upon hearing this. "ElderYue Guan's Disciple? And also your Junior Brother?"

Chrysanthemum Douluo Yue Guan was the Supreme Pontiff's right-hand man in Spirit Hall and held a very high status. Being able to become his Disciple meant this child was certainly not simple.

And since he was Hu Liena's Junior Brother, it meant he was also a Disciple of the Supreme Pontiff. This status was... Yan was also stunned for a moment, then he carefully sized up Ling Feng.

"ElderYue Guan's Disciple? He was taken in as a Disciple by an Elder at such a young age?"

Ling Feng laughed inwardly seeing Yan's skeptical look.

This guy was a straightforward person in the original story who spoke without thinking.

"Hello, Senior Yan. Hello, Senior Xie Yue," Ling Feng greeted politely. "My name is Ling Feng, and I am indeed ElderYue Guan's Disciple."

Xie Yue nodded, having a good impression of Ling Feng.

"Hello, Ling Feng. To be taken as a Disciple by both the Supreme Pontiff and ElderYue Guan, your talent must be quite extraordinary."

Seeing Hu Liena defend Ling Feng so much, Yan said somewhat indignantly,

"So what if his talent is good? In Spirit Hall Academy, strength is what matters most."

Hu Liena immediately flared up upon hearing this.

"Yan! What do you mean by that?"

Glared at by Hu Liena, Yan immediately backed down. "I... I didn't mean anything, I was just saying."

Ling Feng found the scene somewhat amusing.

This guy Yan... stubbornly pursuing Hu Liena despite having no chance, he really was a bit thick-headed.

"Senior Yan is right," Ling Feng said with a smile. "In the academy, strength should indeed be what talks."

Hearing Ling Feng say this, a look of smugness appeared on Yan's face.

"At least you're sensible."

Xie Yue watched from the side, feeling somewhat helpless. Yan really didn't know how to speak properly.

"Ling Feng, what is your Martial Soul?" Xie Yue asked.

"Magic Cloud Vine," Ling Feng replied.

"A plant-type Martial Soul?" Yan curled his lip. "Most plant-type Martial Souls are relatively weak. What rank are you now?"

Before Ling Feng could answer, Hu Liena spoke up first.

"My Junior Brother is very powerful! His first spirit ring is over five hundred years old!"

Both Yan and Xie Yue were stunned.

"Over five hundred years?" Xie Yue frowned. "That's impossible, isn't it? Isn't the limit for a first spirit ring four hundred and twenty-three years?"
