Cassian's POV
I couldn't believe it.
She was supposed to be gone.
"She's outside talking to the elders," the guard said.
He had just told me that Elena was back. The same Elena that I thought might have been gone forever was back in the pack.
"Does Alpha Kade know?" I asked him.
He shook his head and started thinking if there was a possibility of getting her leave the pack as soon as she had just walked in.
Was it by coincidence that she was back just after Kade had gotten a Luna through the trials?
That wasn't something that I could clarify.
However, I didn't like it one bit.
"Should I go and tell him?" The man asked, waiting to be dismissed.
"No." I respond immediately, seeing that I was the one best fit to deliver the message.
I had just been with him and needed to talk to him again, but this time it was about something different.
