Chapter 395 - NUCT: Chapter 395

Under the relentless onslaught of Shinji's Cursed Words — where anyone he fixed his gaze upon met instant death — the most dangerous enemies were eliminated in the blink of an eye.

He then activated Stealth Strike, slipping effortlessly through the storm of incoming ninjutsu and beheading another foe in the same motion.

"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Projectile!"

"Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"

"Fire Release: Garuda!"

…

Flames roared from every direction, leaving Shinji seemingly nowhere to escape.

Yet to him, these enemies were nothing more than low‑level NPCs running on pre‑programmed routines.

They possessed the raw power of Jōnin, but lacked the experience, judgment, and coordination that came with the rank — only hurling one technique after another in a chaotic, mindless barrage, like mechanical shinobi built solely for combat.

A true Jōnin could easily defeat three such opponents, because fighting requires intelligence. These creatures, however, followed rigid patterns.

Still, they had their advantages: acting strictly according to their programming, they never felt fear, hesitated, or fled.

In truth, a legion of fearless, emotionless, and unthinking Jōnin would be terrifying to anyone else.

But not to Shinji.

CLAP!

Faced with the widespread attack, Shinji simply clapped his hands once and swapped places with one unfortunate enemy — who was instantly incinerated into ash.

The other Jōnin paid no attention, merely shifting their aim and unleashing another wave of techniques.

Shinji clapped again, switching positions once more and letting their own attacks destroy them.

If they had possessed any intelligence, they would have stopped.

But as before, they acted only on instinct and preset commands — and would not cease until their chakra was completely exhausted.

What followed was a cycle of endless bombardment from the enemy, and Shinji casually swapping positions with a clap each time.

Before long, their numbers had dropped by more than half, and the worst of the pressure was past.

Shinji thought he had found a loophole and expected the rest to be easy — only to realize he had celebrated too soon.

Perhaps because their numbers had fallen below fifty percent, the Jōnin suddenly abandoned their attacks on Shinji and his companions, turning their full fury toward the Statue of Athena instead. Clearly, a deeper layer of their programming had been triggered.

If the statue was destroyed, the game would end in failure. Shinji had already examined its durability earlier; it was sturdy enough that an ordinary person would need a heavy hammer and considerable effort to smash it.

But against these Jōnin, even a single ninjutsu would likely reduce it to dust. That was why he had left Moxi behind to guard it and had also wrapped it in a protective barrier using his Red Blood Manipulation.

Seeing their shift in target, Shinji stopped holding back entirely.

"Domain Expansion — Crimson Apocalypse!"

A surging wave of blood erupted outward, sweeping across the entire area.

A massive crimson moon hung high in the sky, while a gigantic arm rose from the earth — seemingly reaching for the moon, but actually supporting an ornate throne. Shinji sat upon it, overlooking everything below.

Though a few enemies remained outside, he had drawn the vast majority into the bounds of his domain.

"Red Blood Manipulation: Ultimate Art — Blood Deception!"

The moment his domain was fully formed, Shinji unleashed this technique, planting a fatal seed within every foe.

With an effect that could not miss, it sent a false signal to their bodies, tricking them into believing their own blood had been transformed into his.

Since everything within his domain was under his absolute control, he could manipulate that blood as easily as his own.

Normally a technique of little use, within his domain it became unstoppable.

"Today's weather is perfect for fireworks…"

Shinji glanced up at the crimson moon, curled his right hand into a fist, and squeezed.

POP!

Like countless over‑inflated insects bursting apart, every enemy's blood exploded outward, turning them into showers of crimson light.

The surrounding space then began to crack and dissolve as Shinji released his domain. Returning to the normal world, he found Tobi pummeling the very last surviving foe.

Shinji had no idea when Tobi had reappeared — clearly he had hidden away when things grew dangerous, only to return and put on a show once victory was certain.

Moxi remained by the statue, standing guard without moving an inch — though her mouth was twitching, as if she found some of the behavior around her utterly baffling.

Hidan and Tamamo Hikaru were both badly injured.

The difference was that Hidan could survive even fatal wounds thanks to his curse, while Tamamo's life hung by a thread if her injuries became too severe.

Sasuke, meanwhile, had once again drained his chakra and overtaxed his eyes, and had fallen into unconsciousness.

Ever since meeting Shinji, it seemed he spent half his time fainting or recovering from it.

SWISH!

Shinji drew the Kubikiribōchō from the ground and sliced the last remaining enemy cleanly in two.

"Phew… finally done! That guy earlier deliberately lured me away, and by the time I realized it, I got a little lost — that's why I took so long to get back!"

Tobi scratched his head and gave a sheepish grin as he made up an excuse.

Shinji patted him on the shoulder. "Do I look like an idiot?"

"Of course not! Shinji‑sama is the Prophet and High Priest of our Cult — the wisest man alive!"

"Then why do you always treat me like a fool? Next time you sneak off, try coming up with a better lie."

"Ah, you saw right through me! As expected of Shinji‑sama — brilliant! Next time I'll make up something completely flawless, I promise!"

Good to see you have ambition, Shinji thought dryly. If you weren't Obito Uchiha, I'd have put you out of your misery right here.

He was no longer even annoyed.

Before ending the game, Shinji first tended to Tamamo and Hidan's injuries.

It was always wise to keep his companions in good shape — otherwise, if another enemy appeared or some unexpected trouble arose, he would have no one to rely on.

As for Sasuke, he could be left alone; this was simply the result of overusing his power again.

At this rate, Shinji seriously doubted Sasuke would retain his eyesight for more than a few months.

He was still far too weak, and Shinji could not be sure if Itachi would decide to hand over his own Mangekyō Sharingan ahead of schedule.

"Never mind. I'll just have to give him a stern warning when he wakes up. Even if you have dojutsu, you can't keep abusing them like this."

He sighed.

"Shinji‑sama, is it over? What kind of reward did the Evil God give us?"

Tobi began poking and prodding the Statue of Athena, but found nothing unusual about it.

Just as I thought — this whole Evil God thing is nothing but a made‑up lie to trick people.
