Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: The Outcome

Chapter 28: The Outcome

The ocular technique within Hagoromo's Rinnegan was special.

It was a sealing technique he had prepared long ago.

Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei.

Ordinary Chibaku Tensei was already an extremely powerful seal, but the jutsu Hagoromo had devised was the ultimate version. To perform it, he would have to exhaust every last shred of chakra in his body.

With a cost that terrifying, the effect was naturally astonishing. In theory, the technique could recreate a miniature star and seal anything inside it.

Hagoromo had developed this jutsu for one reason only.

To seal his mother, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.

As someone who had consumed a chakra fruit, Kaguya could be considered immortal to a certain extent. That immortality might have limits, but with Hagoromo and Hamura's current strength, it was still impossible for them to truly kill her.

So the only way to eliminate this hidden danger was to seal her.

Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei was the cage Hagoromo had prepared for Kaguya. As long as she was sealed, everything would end.

No matter how overwhelming Kaguya's strength was, she would not be able to break free from this jutsu while the Hagoromo brothers suppressed her.

And now, the chance had appeared.

"As long as I use this jutsu, everything will be over…"

The thought flickered through Hagoromo's mind. A faint light shimmered in his purple Rinnegan, and the technique within was about to activate.

But at that moment, something unexpected happened.

In the sky ahead, beside Kaguya, Yuu suddenly appeared.

He stood at her side, gently reached out, and pulled her into his embrace. Smiling, he looked at the two brothers in front of him.

"Father!"

Hagoromo and Hamura's expressions changed instantly.

A deep hesitation surfaced on Hagoromo's face. He froze for a moment, almost numb, his mind flooding with tangled thoughts.

"Father… you still chose this."

At last, he let out a long sigh and made his decision.

He did not strike.

Attacking Kaguya was one thing. Attacking Yuu was another.

To them, Kaguya was their mother, but she had always been distant and aloof. For the sake of saving the world, they did not feel an unbearable burden in moving against her.

But Yuu was different.

He was their father. He had always supported the path they walked. He was the person they respected and admired most.

They could not move against their own father.

"Father, are you unwilling to let us strike Mother, to the point of using yourself like this?"

The same thought flashed through Hamura's mind. He also sighed and abandoned the plan to attack.

The two brothers withdrew from Sage Mode, returning to normal. Then they walked toward Yuu and Kaguya.

Kaguya watched them approach. A fierce glint flashed in her Byakugan, her intent to continue fighting still present.

Yuu immediately tightened his grip on her hand. He shook his head at her, stopping her from taking any further action.

"Since things have reached this point, let's end it here."

He looked at Kaguya and spoke softly. "Have you forgotten our agreement?"

His words reminded her.

Earlier, Kaguya had made a deal with Yuu. If she proved she was not a match for Hagoromo and Hamura, then afterward, she would listen and stop acting on her own.

Now, it was time to honor that agreement.

No matter how proud she was, reality was right in front of her. She had to admit it.

She was not a match for the Hagoromo brothers.

In terms of combat power, neither of them was weaker than her. They were only slightly inferior in the quality and quantity of their chakra.

But their mastery of Natural Energy perfectly compensated for that gap, allowing the power they unleashed to be no less than Kaguya's and bringing the battle to this point.

Kaguya looked at Hagoromo and Hamura, then at Yuu beside her, who was smiling as he watched her.

In the end, she gave up resisting and did nothing more.

Only then did Yuu finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Good.

At least she could recognize reality. At least she knew when to concede.

What he truly feared was someone who, despite being weaker, refused to yield and insisted on fighting to the bitter end.

If it came to that, even Yuu would be forced into a corner.

He could not stand by and watch Kaguya drain this world dry.

To him, the value of this world was far greater than a single chakra fruit.

As long as the world existed, Natural Energy would continue to be born, and it could nurture many chakra fruits over time. There was no need to rush.

Of course, the main reason Kaguya was so impatient, aside from preparing for the future Ōtsutsuki enemies, was Yuu himself.

As the power of the Kārma continued to merge into him, his physical condition kept deteriorating. If this went on, something terrible would happen sooner or later.

Kaguya had noticed that, which was why she had become anxious.

But Yuu knew her anxiety was pointless.

The time limit of his current reincarnation was almost up. Even if a chakra fruit ripened right now, it would not be able to keep him here.

And from the current situation, it was obvious the chakra fruit still needed a long time before it would ripen.

That was precisely why he had arranged this meeting and ignited the conflict early, forcing it to erupt before it was too late.

With him still here, there was room to maneuver.

"Stop now."

Yuu waved at Hagoromo and Hamura, gentle as always.

Hagoromo and Hamura hesitated, but in the end, they stepped forward and followed Yuu away from the battlefield.

They returned to the palace, where Indra and Ashura were waiting.

"Father!"

Ashura rushed over first, his face glowing with excitement. "Were you just fighting with Grandma? That was amazing!"

His eyes were full of admiration. To him, it had looked like sparring, and all he felt was envy at that overwhelming strength.

Indra, however, was much sharper.

He had already sensed that something was wrong, at least vaguely. But he said nothing. He only stood to the side, watching the group with a quiet, uneasy tension.

"Yes."

Yuu smiled, stepped forward, and patted both Indra and Ashura on the head.

"Your father and uncle just sparred with your grandmother," he said softly. "The commotion got a bit loud."

"But it's fine. No one was hurt, so you can rest easy."

After sending the two children away, Yuu led Hagoromo and the others deeper into the palace.

"I am leaving."

The moment Yuu said it, Hagoromo and the others froze, instantly understanding what his words implied.

"Father, where are you going?" Hamura spoke first, panic flashing across his face. "Did we do something wrong?"

"Father, don't abandon us." Hagoromo's expression tightened as well, his voice tense. "The Land of Ancestors can't lose your guidance."

Kaguya stood nearby without speaking, but her gaze locked onto Yuu, her eyes filled with a strained, silent tension.

Yuu smiled.

"The Land of Ancestors is already mature," he said. "Whether I'm here or not makes little difference to most people."

"And you've grown up."

"New trees need room to grow strong. If I keep blocking the way, it would be unfair to you, especially after how hard you've worked."

"Your current abilities are enough to put my mind at ease."

He looked at Hagoromo and Hamura, his eyes filled with anticipation.

"Father…"

Meeting his gaze, both brothers were deeply moved, unable to find the right words.

"Kaguya, the same goes for you."

Yuu turned toward the woman who had stood beside him for so many years, his smile unchanged.

"I've been very happy during these years with you," he said softly. "And I'm grateful I met you in this life."

"So while I'm gone, I hope you live well and get along with the children."

He held Kaguya's hand and murmured, "They are your children. Sometimes they'll disappoint you, but that's part of growing up."

"Don't let that make you sad. Just wait for me to return."

"Yuu…"

Kaguya looked at him. Her lips parted as if she wanted to say something.

In the end, she said nothing.
