Edith let out a relieved sigh as Maybe! Working for this strange family wouldn't be so bad after all.
As time passed,
Edith began settling into her new job. She was hardworking, polite, and responsible, and before long both Goku and Gohan started liking her. Chi-Chi also enjoyed having someone to talk to during the day. Whenever she had free time, she would chat with Edith and sometimes with Launch, enjoying the peaceful life around Mount Paozu.
Months passed in the blink of an eye.
One day, Gohan noticed something strange. The roots of his hair had started turning black again. Even his eyebrows were slowly changing back. His hair became half white and half black, similar to Todoroki from My Hero Academia. Unfortunately, while Todoroki looked cool with that style, Gohan felt he looked ridiculous.
He tried dyeing all of it black, but every time he transformed into a Super Saiyan, the color reset to its black-and-white pattern.
In the end, he gave up.
At least it confirmed one thing: after his lifespan had been extended, his hair was gradually returning to normal on its own.
Over the next month, Gohan continued training regularly. One day, with some free time on his hands, he decided to check on Android 16.
What he found surprised him.
Android 16 had found a job as a forest ranger. He protected the forest and the animals living there. Birds sat on his shoulders, deer walked beside him, and none of the animals seemed afraid.
Gohan smiled.
"This suits him perfectly."
Android 16 loved nature far more than fighting.
After that, Gohan used Instant Transmission to visit Android 17 and 18.
They were still living in the same quiet village where he had first found them. To his surprise, the siblings had opened a small convenience store.
Gohan walked inside casually.
"I'd like a strawberry ice cream," he said with a grin.
Android 18 looked up in surprise.
"G...Gohan? What are you doing here?"
Android 17 rushed out from the storage room, equally nervous.
Gohan laughed.
"Why are you two acting like I'm here to kill you? Relax."
Without waiting for permission, he opened the freezer, grabbed two ice creams, and handed one to 18.
"Here."
She accepted it quietly.
"Thank you."
17 stared at her with specchless face .
"SIS this is our store. Why are you thanking him?"
18 rolled her eyes.
"I'm not thanking him for the ice cream, idiot. I'm thanking him for giving us a second chance."
Android 17 became quiet before slowly nodding.
"...Yeah." as He reached into the freezer "Then I'll have one too."
He grabbed an ice cream for himself and sat beside his sister and For several minutes, the three of them quietly enjoyed their ice cream.
Finally, Gohan broke the silence.
"So, why did you open a convenience store out here?"
Android 18 looked toward the distant mountains as a small smile appeared on her face.
"This village is far from the city. People here have to travel a long distance just to buy everyday supplies."
She shrugged.
"My brother and I can fly. Restocking takes us only a few minutes. The villagers save time, we make a living, and everyone benefits."
She looked around the peaceful countryside.
"Besides, I like it here. It's quiet."
After a short pause, she looked back at Gohan.
"And thank you again."
Gohan smiled.
"You don't have to keep thanking me."
He stood up and threw both ice cream wrappers into the trash.
"If anything, I should be thanking you."
Android 18 looked confused but Gohan continued.
"You've changed. Both of you have."
He smiled warmly.
"That's enough for me."
He stretched his arms.
"Anyway, I just wanted to see how you were doing. Looks like everything's going well."
He turned toward the door "I'll be going now."
Just as he stepped outside
"Gohan..."
He stopped and looked back.
Android 18 hesitated for a moment before speaking softly.
"..Can we meet again?"
Gohan smiled without hesitation.
"Of course."He gave her his usual gentle smile "Anytime you want."
He waved.
"See you."
With that, he flew into the sky.
Android 18 stood silently outside the store for a long time, watching him disappear beyond the clouds.
Only after he was completely gone did she quietly whisper
"See you."
