Chapter 7 - Acceptance

Sylus stood there. He could see Freya on the battlefield, her face covered in blood; he could see that she was breathing heavily, struggling to even stand.

"What is going on here?" he asked, turning to the being, trying to make sense of everything he was watching. "Make it stop!"

"You can make it stop, but apparently, you are too weak to do so. It is a shame that you will watch Freya perish, trying to protect her weak older brother." The being turned and was about to leave, pausing for a second. "You are right, you aren't me. Because I won't stand here while my younger sister dies on the battlefield, not when I have the power to save her."

Sylus stood there watching the being leave. He turned to see Freya on the battlefield again. His mind was now thrown into a frenzy, he wasnt understanding anything that was happening in front of him.

"No, no, no!" he roared. Suddenly, a surge of power erupted from his body. Shattering every glass object in the room, switching off every electrical outlet within ten miles.

The being stopped, turning to look at Sylus. He could see that he had managed to get him to tap into his power, even if only briefly; he had done it.

"Please," Sylus muttered, looking at the being. He knew there was nothing he could do to stop time, let alone rewind it. "Help me save my sister; she is all I have."

The being slowly started walking to Sylus, its head held high. He started speaking, slowly. "Look within you, you are only meddling with drops of it. I want you to tap into chaos, use it as an extension of your body."

"How?" Sylus asked, looking at the being. He looked at his hands, and he could see that there was nithing there. "I dont have anything within me, I dont know how to tap into it."

"Breathe, chaos won't respond to you until you block that thought of being weak out of your mind and embrace that you have the power to become one of the strongest beings in all of existence."

The being was now in front of Sylus; he extended his hand. Looking at Sylus, the room was now calm as both of them were staring at each other.

"Embrace chaos, become ruin, become the Saint of Chaos." The being's words were now calm, almost like he was trying to get Sylus to see something that wasnt there.

Sylus was staring at the being's hands; he failed to notice that the room was now filled with an aura, colors flying around, a mixture of black, blue, and purple enveloped them.

"To save Freya, I will become anything!" Without giving it a second thought, he shook the being's hand. And suddenly, there was a blast of light that covered the room, and then it was like an implosion.

Back at the west wing of the city, the behemoth had laid waste to almost every building there. Hugo's guild was brutally injured, and the warriors who were called to help them were also wounded.

Hugo was standing staring at the behemoth in front of them, a look of dread on his face.

"We have struck that thing down five times. But it keeps coming back each time it comes back stronger than it was," he said, pulling his hammer closer, his eyes didnt avert from the monster in front of him. "It isn't backing down!"

Freya could be seen, covered in bruises, as she pointed her twin blades at the creature in front of her.

"This thing is holding me back from seeing my brother. I will make sure it won't get back up this time!"

She yelled, bolting for the behemoth, blitzing through the rocks the creature was hauling at her.

"BRING ME THE HEIR OF RUIN!"

The behemoth shrieked as it let out a powerful blast, destroying anything that stood in the way. Freya twirled, avoiding each strike; she didnt back down. Getting close enough, she leaped into the air right in front of the behemoth.

"Lion Claw, heaven's flame!" She roared and sent two powerful slashes for the behemoth. Immediately, the slash came into contact with the behemoth, and it exploded in bright red flames, covering the behemoth's face.

Freya landed right in front of it, watching as the beast slowly fell. A slight grin on her face, she was about to turn when all the senses in her body were triggered. She slowly turned to see that something was crawling out of the behemoth's body.

It stood nine feet tall, its eyes were glowing, covered with the smoke and dust from the battlefield. It was the behemoth, in its final form, and from what Freya could see, it was going to be her end.

"I told you, bring me the heir of ruin," the being spoke. Every warrior standing close by held their ear as it started bleeding from hearing the being's voice.

The being didnt hear anything from them, it could see their pain and agony. Enraged, it raised its hand, and a powerful glow could be seen emitting from it.

"Fine then, I will relieve you of your mortal breath," it spoke, slowly turning to Freya, its hand glowing bright red. "Starting with you, Griffin girl."

It fired the blast, and Freya turned to see it coming. She knew it was the end for her, not trying to run or escape. She covered her eyes and accepted her fate.

"Goodbye, big brother, I love you," she muttered, what she thought were her last words.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a dark cloak of power covered Freya, canceling the being's blast. Freya opened her eyes to see Sylus holding her closely; he was protecting her from the blast.

"Big brother?" she muttered, not sure if it was him or maybe the last image she remembers.

"Dont worry, Freya, I will not let anything hurt you." Sylus turned to look at the being, his eyes lit up, emitting a dark black energy.

"It's you!" the being pointed, looking at Sylus. "You are the heir of ruin!"

Sylus, shaking in fear, knew that he had no choice but to face the monster in front of him. He took a step forward.

"What if I am?" he asked, looking at the being.

The monster let out a mighty roar, looking at Sylus.

"Then this shall be your grave!"
