"I activate the effect of the Set Prayers with Eyes of Blue. By discarding one card from my hand, I can add one Spell or Trap Card from my deck that mentions Blue-Eyes White Dragon in its text, along with one Level 1 LIGHT Tuner monster, to my hand."
"I add Sage with Eyes of Blue and Majesty with Eyes of Blue from my deck to my hand!"
"A Tuner monster? Could the Duel King be planning to—"
Disbelief appeared in Yusei's eyes.
"Prayers with Eyes of Blue's effect. By banishing this card from the Graveyard, I can target one Blue-Eyes White Dragon on my field and equip one Blue-Eyes monster from my Extra Deck to that target as an Equip Spell Card, raising its ATK by 400."
"I equip Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to Blue-Eyes White Dragon, raising Blue-Eyes White Dragon's ATK by 400!"
Blue-Eyes White Dragon
ATK 3400 / DEF 2500
"And finally, I tune Level 8 Blue-Eyes White Dragon with Level 1 Maiden of White!"
The Maiden of White on the field transformed into a green ring, while Blue-Eyes White Dragon became eight stars and passed through it.
"As expected! Duelist Aoi Kisaragi is about to perform a Synchro Summon!" Yusei said.
"Synchro Summon!"
"Appear, Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon in Defense Position!"
A white dragon even larger than Blue-Eyes White Dragon appeared.
Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon
ATK 2500 / DEF 3000
"Synchro Summon? Then during the battle against Dartz, was that not the power of the White Dragon, but proof that Kisaragi already knew about Synchro Summoning?" Yugi said.
"Mr. Yugi, what do you mean? Did Kisaragi already use a Synchro Summon before dueling me?" Yusei asked.
Yugi nodded.
"No wonder when I dueled Kisaragi earlier, she acted as if Synchro Summoning were only natural," Yusei said.
"Back during my days at Duel Academy with Professor Kisaragi, Professor Kisaragi never once showed Synchro Summoning," Jaden said. "Could it be that Synchro Summoning requires some kind of condition?"
"That's right. Synchro Summoning is the mainstream Summoning method of my era. It requires something specific to accomplish it. But I can't continue explaining, or else it may negatively affect the future," Yusei said.
Suddenly, Yugi remembered the blue-white particles that had appeared around Kisaragi during her duel with Dartz.
"Could that have been the condition needed to perform a Synchro Summon?" Yugi muttered. "Yusei, does your Duel Disk contain some kind of special particle?"
"Mr. Yugi, how do you know that?" Yusei said in shock.
Yugi told Yusei and Jaden about Kisaragi's previous duel against Dartz.
"Could it be that Kisaragi used the power of spirits back then to gather Yusei Particles and perform a Synchro Summon? If that's true, then it makes sense. Still, it feels like Kisaragi has known about Synchro Summoning all along."
"Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon? In the Duel Monsters history I observed, this monster never existed. Why has it appeared in this era?!"
Paradox's voice was filled with confusion.
"But Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon only has 2500 ATK. It cannot defeat my Malefic Cyber End Dragon!"
"I activate the Continuous Spell Card Burden of the Mighty from my hand. As long as this card remains on the field, all monsters my opponent controls lose ATK equal to their Level × 100."
"Malefic Cyber End Dragon is Level 10, so its ATK decreases by 1000!"
Malefic Cyber End Dragon
ATK 3000 / DEF 2800
"I set one card face-down and end my turn!"
Cards in hand: 3
"It seems even Kisaragi couldn't defeat that monster on her first turn," Yugi said.
"But the opponent's monster has 3000 ATK, and Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon's DEF is also 3000. At the very least, she should be able to hold out for several turns."
"Ha ha ha! Aoi Kisaragi, during your End Phase, I activate the Trap Card Malefic Claw Stream. If I control a Malefic monster, I can target one monster my opponent controls and destroy that opponent's monster."
"I destroy Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon. I don't know what kind of special effect Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon has, but once it's destroyed, you're finished!"
A black whirlwind appeared on Paradox's field and surged toward Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon.
"This is bad. Paradox is trying to end the duel quickly!" Yugi said.
The black whirlwind struck Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, but the dragon stood firm within it. Seeing this, Paradox's expression turned extremely ugly.
"What is going on?!"
"I forgot to mention this. When Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon is Special Summoned, all Dragon monsters I control cannot be destroyed by card effects until the end of the next turn, and neither player can target those monsters with card effects until the end of the next turn," Kisaragi said.
"Tch. That monster even has an effect like that?"
"My turn. Draw!"
"I send Stardust Dragon from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard and Special Summon Malefic Stardust Dragon from my hand!"
Malefic Stardust Dragon
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
"You bastard! You turned Stardust Dragon into this?!" Yusei roared.
"Heh heh heh. Let me make good use of Stardust Dragon!"
"Before you get too pleased, your Malefic Stardust Dragon loses 800 ATK due to Burden of the Mighty's effect!"
Malefic Stardust Dragon
ATK 1700 / DEF 2000
"Tch. I summon Malefic Paradox Gear from my hand in Attack Position!"
Malefic Paradox Gear
ATK 0 / DEF 0
"I activate Malefic Paradox Gear's effect. If a Field Spell Card exists face-up, I can Tribute this card to Special Summon one Malefic Parallel Gear from my deck. After that, I add one Malefic monster other than Malefic Paradox Gear from my deck to my hand."
"Come forth, Malefic Parallel Gear!"
Malefic Parallel Gear
ATK 0 / DEF 0
"Then I add Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my deck to my hand!"
When Kisaragi heard Paradox take out Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon, her face darkened.
"Kisaragi's aura changed," Yugi said.
"That's right. He took out Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon. That card symbolizes Professor Kisaragi's soul, yet this guy actually dared to bring out that monster."
Jaden suddenly recalled the sight of Kisaragi when she was angry back at Duel Academy.
"I think that man won't live long," Yubel said.
"Yeah, probably. Ha ha!" Jaden agreed.
"I tune the Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand with Malefic Parallel Gear on my field!"
"What? He's tuning monsters from the field and the hand?!" Yusei said in surprise.
"That's right. When Malefic Parallel Gear is used as Synchro Material, the other Synchro Material must be one Malefic monster from the hand."
As Malefic Parallel Gear's effect activated, a sphere of black light wrapped layer after layer around Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
"Darkness born from the rift between dimensions, draw open the curtain of ruin upon the stage that crosses time and space!"
"Synchro Summon! Come forth, Malefic Paradox Dragon!"
Malefic Paradox Dragon
ATK 4000 / DEF 4000
