Chapter 7 - Family Reunion

[Host, that's a high-level item, and you got it from the newbie gift pack. With your points, you can't possibly redeem it. Besides, you only have single-digit points left.]

Su Wanwan, desperate, said anxiously, "Dad, don't you believe me? You saw it yourself last time."

Luo Wenyao, a seasoned businessman, could easily see her panic. But he still smiled and said, "It's just another test, it won't be much trouble."

"Doctor." He beckoned to the person waiting nearby, his eyes cold.

"No, I don't want to do it again." Su Wanwan shook her head desperately.

Luo Wenyao's gaze instantly sharpened. "Are you lying to me?"

He then raised his palm and pressed down, ordering the bodyguards beside him, "Arrest her."

In the blink of an eye, Su Wanwan was subdued by the bodyguards on either side.

Luo Wenyao stared at her coldly, pulling a gun from his pocket, ready to load it.

Su Wanwan was on the verge of tears, her voice trembling as she asked the system in her mind, "What should I do? They must have discovered something. I don't want to die!"

[Host, you can only buy a teleportation talisman on credit. But you'll need double points to repay it.]

The system's tone was helpless and irritated. Things related to metaphysics were too expensive.

Su Wanwan looked at the doctor who had already brought the needles and agreed without hesitation, "I'll get it, I'll get it. Hurry up."

As soon as she finished speaking, Su Wanwan vanished instantly. The two bodyguards who were holding her were completely bewildered, unable to comprehend how she had disappeared from their grasp.

Luo Suisui and Mu Rong, upstairs, witnessed the entire process on their laptops, their faces filled with shock. Luo

Wenyao's expression remained impassive, but he reprimanded everyone present, "No one is allowed to tell anyone about what happened today."

Although these people were considered his confidants, it was still best to give them a warning.

"Check around the villa and see if you can find anyone."

After giving these instructions, Luo Wenyao went upstairs to find

his wife and daughter. He then recounted the whole story, including Luo Suisui's dream, and showed her the paternity test results they had just done.

Mu Rong listened, stunned for a long time, her eyes lowered. She then hugged her daughter, her voice choked with emotion, "Suisui, it's all Mommy's fault. I almost brought home a menace."

Luo Suisui quickly retorted, "Mommy, it's okay. Everything's fine now. None of us knew she would resort to such methods."

Luo Suisui kept saying comforting words; she didn't want her mother to be consumed by self-blame. After all, in her previous life, she hadn't noticed anything either.

And even after Su Wanwan arrived, her parents hadn't treated her differently.

A dozen minutes later, Mu Rong, knowing she couldn't let her daughter worry, recovered. With a gentle smile, Luo Wenyao said, "Mom is such a grown woman, yet she's not as perceptive as Sui Sui. The tragedy hasn't happened yet, we still have time."

Looking at the emotions in his wife's eyes, Luo Wenyao took out a set of keys. "Sui Sui, these are the supplies Dad collected from several warehouses these past two days. Take a few bodyguards

and go collect them." "Don't worry, Dad used the name of Sheng Yao's chain supermarkets to get them. I told the warehouse manager beforehand that you would be inspecting the goods. After you've collected them, just seal them off with everything agreed to."

Anyway, he had the warehouse keys, and the warehouses were sealed off; no one would find out. Next time, he could just collect supplies from a different warehouse area.

Luo Sui Sui nodded and took the keys from him. "Okay, Dad."

It seemed her father was acting faster than she had expected.

After Luo Suisui left, Mu Rong raised her eyes, her voice low and somber, "Suisui's dream, it's actually something she experienced, isn't it?"

Luo Wenyao sighed deeply, "I suspect so. You've noticed it too, haven't you? Suisui's changed. It's like she's gained resilience and composure after experiencing many hardships."

Mu Rong's hands trembled slightly as she listened, "If I hadn't gone to the neighboring province and hadn't met Su Wanwan, would Suisui have avoided all these things?"

Luo Wenyao embraced her. He had sensed her self-blame, which was why he wanted to send his daughter away as soon as possible.

"Rong'er, if Suisui hadn't kept quiet, I wouldn't have believed that Su Wanwan could use such absurd methods. Besides, given our actions, even if we had no feelings for this suddenly appearing daughter, we couldn't bear to let her wander outside."

"I only investigated after I found out. Your car accident was also suspicious, there were no traces, it seemed like it was handled very cleanly."

Mu Rong nodded. After learning about Su Wanwan's paternity test and that she was her daughter, she didn't feel any special emotions, but rather was very worried about Suisui's thoughts.

Seeing that she was listening, Luo Wenyao continued to persuade her, "What we need to do now is not to blame ourselves, but to prepare as much as possible for the upcoming apocalypse so that Sui Sui can live more easily."

"You're right, you're right," Mu Rong murmured, then her tone became firm, and she seemed to be instantly filled with fighting spirit.

She couldn't waste time being sentimental here; she needed to prepare more things.

Her Sui Sui was someone whose every day would be as fulfilling and happy as a ripe ear of grain, and who would live peacefully every year.

Su Wanwan struggled to climb out of a valley a thousand miles away, her hair disheveled.

"System, why did you teleport me to this desolate wilderness?"

Seeing her disheveled appearance, Su Wanwan's voice unconsciously carried a hint of complaint.

[It's good enough that you escaped, and you're still being picky. If I teleported you to the city, aren't you afraid of being caught again?]

The system's tone was unfriendly. What kind of stupid thing had it found? If it weren't for the fact that it couldn't change people, it would have replaced her.

Thinking that she still needed Su Wanwan to win over the chosen ones of this world, using their favor points to gain the Heavenly Dao's approval for this foreign system,

the system's tone softened. "Host, we are one. You must believe I won't harm you. Besides, no pain, no gain."

Hearing the system soften, Su Wanwan's mood improved. So what if it was a system? It still had to serve her.

"Host, a target for your conquest is about 100 meters away at your three o'clock position. Go help him while he's not in a good state; it will definitely be a life-saving favor. You can also pay back the points you owe faster."

"Okay, I'll go right now." Su Wanwan regained her confidence and strode over.

Seeing her so obedient, the system breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that she was willing to listen.

This world was awaiting a major change, with many opportunities along the way. It was waiting to use the power of the Heavenly Dao's origin to restore its programming.

Then, it would fight its way back and reclaim what belonged to it.

The Luo family searched the entire city of Haicheng but couldn't find Su Wanwan. Their commotion attracted the attention of their superiors, forcing them to temporarily halt their search.

Gathering supplies was now the most important task. They couldn't afford to arouse suspicion from their superiors and hinder their efforts to collect resources.
