Chapter 1 - The Boy on the rooftop

Lina discovered the boy on the rooftop the same way she discovered most things in her life, by chasing something she wasn't supposed to.

In this case, it was her runaway sketchbook.

The wind had flipped it open and carried it up three flights of stairs to the old apartment rooftop. When Lina burst through the door, breathless and dramatic, she found not only her sketchbook, but a boy sitting on the ledge, holding it.

He had silver hair.

Not white.

Silver. Like moonlight poured over ink.

"You draw the sky wrong," he said calmly.

Lina blinked. "Excuse me?"

"The stars aren't scattered," he replied, pointing at her page. "They lean. Like they're listening."

She stared at him. "You're weird."

He smiled faintly. "You're the one who chased paper into the sky."

That was how she met the strangest boy in her building.
