Chapter 5 - The Packs Judgement

The next morning, Lira followed Kael into the heart of the territory. Wolves of all sizes and ages padded silently around her, eyes sharp and unblinking. The air hummed with energy.

Kael led her to a large stone circle at the center. Several wolves stood there in human form, each radiating power. Their expressions ranged from curiosity to suspicion.

"This is my pack," Kael said. "And they will judge you."

Lira swallowed nervously. The tallest among them stepped forward—a female with piercing golden eyes. "Who is this?" she demanded.

"She is mine," Kael replied, silver eyes flashing. "She is the Blood Moon heir."

The golden-eyed female frowned. "A human… worthy of the Alpha? We'll see about that."

Another wolf, younger and reckless, smirked. "Blood Moon heir, huh? Let's see if she can survive even one day with us."

Lira's pulse quickened. She wanted to defend herself, but her voice faltered. Kael's gaze met hers. Do not dare cross me, it said silently.

A low growl sounded behind them. A massive black wolf emerged, circling her carefully. "That's Nero," Kael explained. "He protects the pack. And he will protect you… if you prove yourself."

Lira's stomach twisted. How could she prove anything? She didn't even know what she was capable of.

Kael stepped closer, brushing her hand lightly. The mating mark pulsed warmly. His silver eyes softened for just a moment.

"You have to be ready," he whispered. "Because the next night will decide everything."

Lira's heart raced. Fear, excitement, and desire twisted together. She realized, with a shiver, that she was falling for the Alpha King.

And falling for him could be the most dangerous choice of all.
